Went to a party that was catered by American BBQ Co. Really good food, especially the brisket.

I LOVE American BBQ Co. I hired them to cater a July 4 party ( the party was on June 27). It was supposed to be outside but it was pouring rain so we had a canopy set up on the deck- the guys set up their tables with red checked table covers under the canopy- it looked so pretty. They had everything you could think of plates,utensils, condiments. The food was amazing -so delicious and so much of it! cooked to perfection. several of the guests are restaurant people -who are finicky when it comes to food- no complaints or comments!! They loved it! Everyone had 2nds and thirds. Great food and service! The price for 50 guests was very reasonable. the only thing I would recommend is to have your own table or an area to put the leftovers when the guys are breaking it down. I wasn't prepared but they did help me bring everything inside and make room on a side table. I will totally use this company again . read more

We set up a bbq event from North Carolina to happen in Massachusetts. The sales person was extremely helpful and the food was exceptional. They delivered and setup on time as well as they were friendly all through the process. Every person at the event complimented us on the amount and quality of the food. Lousiest BBQ ever. 70 people, they ran out of food, with short staff(3) they couldn't replace the food. people lined up at the BBQ itself as they couldn't service the crowd. Burgers were good, hotdogs totally sucked, and pasta and refills on steak came out end of the party. They sucked. read more

Decided to order pick up from them for dinner tonight. Price was extremely reasonable for $22 for dinner for two. We got the panko and parm crusted chicken, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Everyone was extremely nice and I wanted to love all of this food but it didn't do it for me. The chicken was probably the best part. There was a good amount and the crust was nice with moist chicken. The mashed potatoes were almost like burnt. I am a huge mashed potato fan and I really didn't like these. Last the max and cheese was good but I think everyone makes theirs differently. Some may like this but it had like a more savory component to it but not sure what. May try something else but not sure yet. read more

They're wonderful! My husband and I decided to get married in our backyard. Due to COVID restrictions, we were very limited with guests and decor options. Many stores still weren't even open until the week of our date, but American BBQ company came through for us. We were able to rent a large tent, tables and lights, as well as our catering needs with professional set up and break down. Dominick was our staff member for the night and he did an excellent job. He wore his mask all night and helped keep our catering needs running smoothly. He was very kind and respectful to the guests we had in attendance. Steve was also extremely helpful in the office. We changed our contract and menu several times to get things right, and Steve never hesitated to accommodate our needs. Everyone is very professional and helpful. The mini meatballs and buffalo wings were a huge hit that night, I know we will double up on those orders when we hire the American BBQ company again. We got so many compliments from the food, service, and beautiful tent all night. On behalf of Hillside High School's Graduating Class of 2019, I want to thank Steve, Conner, Ben, Alex, and Frank for the wonderful food and service! These guys came out to our football field and they grilled fresh chicken, burgers, and hot dogs. Our students loved them so much, the guys couldn't cook fast enough! With a class of 180 kids and several educators, there was plenty of food including fresh, juicy, and sweet watermelon! The potato salad was great and I am very picky with my potato salad. The Italian sausages were very tasty adding yet another element to the flair. They provided the condiments, plenty of paper products, and they even helped me set up the tables for our desserts. The guys were very personable and professional. I stalked these guys, read all the reviews and stalked even more on the Next Door site. I do have to say that they were phenomenal! I was a nervous wreck about hiring a company that I never used before but from the first time I contacted them, Nina, Steve and Kevin quickly put my mind at ease and helped me choose the menu for our event and assured me that everything would be perfect. (It was!) Juan & Alex (the griller/servers) were amazing. They came early before our huge party started and set up the grills, tables/tents for the food. The London broil was amazing, we had burgers, dogs, salads and the best part? I didn't have to lift a finger! They waited until we were ready to eat and then just started grilling their little hearts out. We were able to mingle with our guests and not worry about the food end of the party. The salad choices were also amazing, there was literally something for everyone. When they were done and it was time for them to go, it was like they were never here. We highly recommend them and if anyone is on the fence about it, get off of it and just use them! Oh, and Kevin the owner has a sparkling personality that can't be beat!! read more

RIP OFF!! We spent over $3,100.00 for a wedding celebration of 100 people. Only 47 people,(18 of them children) showed up, because of inclimate weather.Not their fault, so we paid for the 100 people anyway. They made just enough food for the guests that showed up. When I called them a couple of days later, I questioned them as to where is all the extra food, for the 100 people that we had paid for? The owner told me that company policy is to cook for only the people that are there. With no disclaimer, I told him this is unfair, it's not a good business practice, and it shouldn't be their decision; Many other companies will give you ALL the extra food you've paid for. He said he would take care of us. He sent us a check for $100.00 !!!! read more

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! Professional , and fantastic office staff (Steve & Roberta) and great on site cooks (can't remember the names -- not their fault, it's my fault -- damn Heinekens). They were all a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. On the day of our party they arrived, set up and left with not a single problem. The food was delicious and plenty. Over 60 people fed and not one was left hungry or wishing for more. American BBQ provided plenty of food and then some. They also provided some leftovers. Well worth every penny. The food was absolutely fantastic! The on-site workers were so nice and made sure our daughters graduation party was a success. They prepared a full spread buffet for us with food that tasted as good as food can possibly taste! However don't plan to use them if you don't plan to tip their workers what they deserve. They set up tents, grills, and tables and made the food right in our back yard! If you plan to tip them $20 each then don't use them and have your party catered by McDonalds instead 10/10 would recommend! read more

We ordered their BBQ basics package for a company party before the 4th of July and were very pleased with everything! The ladies in the office did a great job of communicating with me before the event to ensure they had everything planned out properly and were also very helpful in setting up table and chair rentals. Everyone was impressed with the food- hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, watermelon, and three salads included. The grillers and servers were super friendly and were accommodating of any special requests we had (well done hot dog, hot dog with cheese, etc.) I would definitely recommend American BBQ Company for any catered party! read more

The staff are also very nice and courteous and they even delivered food to me when I didn't meet the $15 minimum requirement. They're really nice people and the food is incredible! American BBQ catered a few of our company BBQ's and they always did an excellent job. I went there today with a co worker for lunch and everything was excellent. Roast beef sandwich was great. My friend had the fried shrimp and fries which was also excellent. We also had the banana pudding which was to die for. The owner was super nice and friendly and gave us some samples of their lobster bisque soup. It had nice large pieces of lobster in the soup. This was probably one of the best lobster bisque soups I ever had. Will definitely be going back!!! read more

We held a backyard barbecue for our Creature Comfort Pet Therapy organization to celebrate our volunteers. The staff made arranging the event so easy - even when we had to postpone a week because of weather. The team that came was professional, organized and personable. They made the event so much easier to host than in past years when we did it ourselves. They set up, cooked everything, had every item we needed for the bbq, cleaned up completely when it was over. We bought a package of American BBQ Company Santa Maria Tri Tip from COSTCO. Cooked it in the oven as per the label directions. Used a meat temp gage to 130F degrees for med-rare doneness. I let it rest for fifteen minutes and then sliced it. I used the oven as I had a long day of various chores and didn't want to stand over my Weber charcoal Bar B Q with my favorite beverage. This is the first time I have used the oven to cook Tri Tip over many years of Bar B Qing various meats, fish and poultry. I also have enjoyed real Santa Maria Tri Tip many times, cooked by known cooks from Santa Maria, Ca. I want to tell you The American BBQ Co Santa Maria Tri Tip is by far the worst piece of meat I tried to eat. It was tough, reeked of dry vinegar and covered with fat that I had to trim off after cooking. The label states Santa Maria recipe. The label states the ingredients used but it is NOT the recipe. I tried to chew two slices, the remaining meat on the table went in the trash. The label states "satisfaction guaranteed100%". I don't need my money back but I am 100% guaranteed NOT to buy the scam of "Santa Maria Tri Tip" from American BBQ Co. Further, my bar b q buddies are going to hear about this experience. read more

We got the Summer Essentials Catering package for our backyard engagement party and everything was fantastic! We had 75 people and the two cooks/servers did a FANTASTIC job. We got so many compliments from our guests that the food was delicious. There was plenty to go around and they handled everything for us from start to finish. They left without a trace as if they were never there but they were kind and friendly throughout the entire afternoon. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

These guys are great. We have had two backyard BBQ parties catered by them. Both times we had about 40 people. We had them cook an entire pig on a spit once and we ordered a southern style BBQ from them the second time. While they weren't 100% on point with their southern style for this southern girl, (they make NJ style BBQ, not NC style) I think that the average Jersian doesn't really know what a southern BBQ is and so they would be happy. We had lots of Southerners up here for the party and they loved the brisket and sausages, but didn't know what they were, that's 'cause they're a northern thing. Anyway- they come on time, set up quickly and do their thing. Then before you know it, they've packed up the food for you and cleaned up their area and they're ready to go. No hassles on your end. Like I said, we have used them twice and we will use them again. They are the best that we know of in the area. read more

We have nothing but great things to say about our experience using American BBQ, It was fantastic from the beginning to end. Starting with working with Roberta on the pre-planning to create our menu, to when Patrick and Don arrived on the scene, things went smooth. Don and Patrick went over the details of where to set up and then made magic happen! Everything was prepared and dinner was served. They were very conscientious by making sure we had the opportunity to see the center piece pig before carving which was great. The food was really good. In fact we had quite a few guest raving about the coleslaw! The other fan favorite was the sweet and spicy pork. It was so nice to know that everything was being taken care of and we didn't have to worry about the food aspect of our event. At the end Patrick and Don were wonderful with packing everything up and bring in all the leftovers. They are both extremely nice, personable, and professional. These guys should stick to bbq. I recently had a breakfast at a meeting that was catered by them. The bagels looked like Lenders frozen bagels, the muffins also looked store bought. After taking apart the fruit platter, I discovered at least a cups worth of black molded grapes. This is shameful. I would not recommend ordering their breakfast buffet. read more

"That's the best brisket I've ever had". Replace "brisket" with any of the food served at our wedding and that's what my husband and I have been hearing from our guests since the first appetizers were served. The food from The American BBQ Company was absolutely AMAZING and our guests still haven't stopped telling us so, a week later. Choosing BBQ for a wedding of 170 people is a little unorthodox and could have easily gone wrong. However, working with Nina and Kevin made us feel confident about our decision through the whole process and turned out to be one of the best choices we made. Nina's dedication to helping us ensured that our wedding was the best (and most delicious) day of our lives. From working out a menu, to setting up tastings, and coordinating our bartenders, Nina was communicative and responsive every step of the way. I'm on the board of our town's newcomers club and we hosted a Mardi Gras themed party this past weekend. We got many quotes from area caterers before deciding to go with American BBQ. The price and the menu were both perfect. The day of the party came and - long story short - we realized an hour into the party when the food hadn't arrived that we gave American BBQ the wrong date of the party! It was 100% our fault. We called Kevin at American BBQ to see if there was anything he could do (but were pretty much prepared for him to tell us "too bad!") and he totally come through for us!!! It took him two hours to cook all the food, prepare the desserts, and get it to us, but he did it! He was an absolute lifesaver. Not only did he bust his butt to get us the food, but it was delicious. Guests were raving about it all night. I can't say enough good things about American BBQ's service and the food.
