This local tavern seems to have transformed itself during the pandemic! The food is amazing! I was surprised at the prices however. We intended to stop in for a few beers and burgers, it was not a special night out but it wound up costing as much as if it were. Even though it is still under renovation, the lodge looks great! I can't wait to see it completely finished. Drinks are good and not too expensive. I came on here to rave about the food. My group only ordered appetizers, but we'll definitely be back for a full dinner. The plate of nachos was bigger than my head! And the onion rings looked, smelled and tasted delicious. But the best thing of the whole night was the wings. I got them with the bourbon garlic sauce and they are the best wings I've had in a very long time. I would come back just for those wings. Another place we've driven past a million times, finally stopped in. A neighborhood joint on 517. The good. Reasonably priced, and conveniently located to Andover & Sparta. Our waitress was sweet, and on the ball. I really liked my ribeye steak (marinated in what tasted like, pineapple juice, soy sauce, maybe some cider vinegar.) Do not get this steak done more than medium rare. The Chicken Wings (they came with a choice of four or five sauces, but I always opt for whatever the version of Buffalo is) The less good The pirogi appetizer, could've been pan fried a little longer, served warm (not hot) kind of greasy. Carpet in dining room could use a good cleaning. All in all the good outweighed the bad, I liked it, will be back, and look forward to trying more items. read more

A great find on 517 My Wife and I were riding to Newton yesterday and passed the Lenape Lodge. We have passed by numerous times and figured we would stop in. This was the best thing we have done in along time. The place is cute inside with plenty of friendly regulars inside. We started with the Buffalo wings (bone in ) of course and they were excellent with a great Blue Cheese and celery accompaniment. Next we both had the steamers , a generous portion in a sauce worthy of the garlic bread that was served with it. Loaded with flavors, ready to be soaked up with the breaded. A regular told me to try the mussels and they were fabulous as well. Black mussels in a green sauce excellent. My Wife ordered the Grill Blackened Salmon and it was to die for. My wife and I are both food snobs as we come from families that are in the food business all prime and top of their class. The bartenders were friendly and the Chef is fantastic. I saw large burgers come out with homemade potato chips on the plate as well as other fabulous looking meals. Friends have been in for the ala carte brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it.Before we left we met with one of the owners Mindy McQuaid and were filled in on Taco Tuesdays and some of the specials as well. Tim & Mindy McQuaid are both working hard at this business post covid to be on top. They hoping to get approvals for a deck outside over looking Lake Lenape soon. Was on the motorcycle and stumbled into this lake side restaurant. The NEW owner Nick is very pleasant along with Kim the bartender and the rest of the staff. The food and drink is great with pub favorites and priced very reasonable. ALTHOUGH STILL UNDER RENOVATION , the atmosphere is easy going. I can see this being a great family stop on nights you don't want to cook, for a quick bite and conversation. I hope I am fair in my evaluation... I did not enjoy my first and probably only visit to the Lenape Lodge. I will say the staff was friendly and helpful but that is the only "positive" I can muster. The dining area was in need of a thorough cleaning...it was drab and since it was empty we searched for a table that was clean. I ordered a mixed drink which was very watered down...the appetizer was adequate certainly better than the entree which could only generously be called "mediocre"...same for dessert...ok but certainly nothing to write home about. My overall impression was that this is a bar attempting to be a restaurant and not having the business or culinary expertise to pull it off...look for another spot! read more

Horrible Food...The Pizza was the worst we ever had in our life...We heard it was great but then found out that was a previous chef...Now the chef is horrible there...No flavor..small portions compared to precious years we were told...the topper for the evening was when we were leaving and saw a drug deal happen right in the parking lot in front of our kids...what a place..I cant believe it is in business. I would advise any family to never take there kids there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone...The people in there were loud and very rude towards us like we were outsiders...not very welcoming..we only went because a friend told us about it some time back but it seems a lot has changed there and not for the better...The bartender was the rudest of them all and was very short with us...What a horrible experience...Stay Away!! read more

We held our Home Owners Association meeting here. The staff was both friendly and accommodating, the room was quiet and there service was excellent. We ordered pizza and a vegetable crudite which everyone enjoyed immensely.
