Amazing wood fired pizzas, I've had cheese, extra cheese, pepperoni, meat lovers, Hawaiian, and the wood fired oven makes all the difference in the world! The bakers are friendly and will talk to you or kids, who are mesmerized with the raging wood fired oven. The Cobb salad is the best I've had here and rivals the Cobb's I've had in LA and northern Calif. Perfect combination and lots of blue cheese. The house salad is great too for those not liking blue cheese. Easy and lots of parking in the Black Swan country club that American Flatbread is in. read more

So so disappointing. Our waiter was at the bar on his phone the entire time, such a low tier American Flatbread that should ultimately be closed down. It was dead on a Friday night, had to walk up to the people at the oven and ask them to cook my pizza for longer because it was extremely undercooked. Had to then proceed to go up and ask if my pizza was ready which seemed ridiculous that no one was paying attention. Not worth the trip, dead bar and atmosphere, low quality pizza for an American Flatbread. Extremely young staff, bad representation of the brand. Please do better! read more

I have booked my work holiday party here for years. Over 50 people and the GM didn't think it was necessary to let me know they had "limited alcohol and no white wine at all due to the gap in switching liquor licenses and owners. I called several times before hand to check in and make sure everything was all set as I was nervous about the change in owners and was told by the GM "everything is exactly the same". When I discussed this with him he was defensive and blamed me of not communicating our wants and needs. He stated that I "didn't tell him what kind of alcohol we wanted". Isn't it a given at an evening holiday party that white wine is just a given!". I hope they get their act together! So bummed out about this place. It used to be a go-to for us. The last two times we have been there, they made our pizzas wrong and had to remake them (after we had already waited an insane amount of time for them to arrive at our table.) Last night they forgot to put chicken on a CHICKEN pizza (?!), then when they brought us the correct one, I bit into a 1" chunk of a wishbone (I wish I had taken a picture to post here). Also we ordered a salad to eat while we were waiting, and it showed up after the pizza did, which was bizarre, annoying, and pointless. Like other reviewers on here, we live in town less than a mile away so it's very disappointing that this place that used to be very convenient and very high quality is now, as someone else put it, a "dumpster fire." Recently went out to dinner with my family for a celebration. I have come to this location for years, but this was the first time as "American Flatbread." I come here due to a gluten allergy and gluten available products. I ordered my normal gluten free pizza, and when it arrived I recognized it wasn't gluten free. Informed server (seemed new and nervous), who apologized and took it away. Waited another 40 min and learned a correct order was never placed nor did we have anyone come to our table for check backs or even a water refill. Upon inquiring as to the status, another waiter said he would put the order in and it must have been "lost." I declined and he said he would "comp" our meal due to the multiple errors. The only things comped was the gluten free pizza that never came.... Poorly handled and likely won't return. Allergies are serious business and if you can't get it right, allergic folks lose confidence in your establishment. read more

Don't waste your money. What use to be a great place has become mediocre at best. we bought 2 pies with some toppings and xtra cheese. Lucky we did because even with the xtra cheese it was sparse at best. Not even close to the pictures they show on their website. Something was missing in the taste as well. I have been a regular customer since they opened. They have changed ownership and gone downhill ever since. We have tried several times to order online but all you get is a voicemail saying they are too busy to take orders. Since I live less than 1 mile, I drive down and they are almost empty! This is not the first time and is a recurring issue. After waiting for a takeout order I proceeded to tell management about the issue but they could care less and had no explanation. In addition, a large pizza was a fraction of the size and we ordered 2 add ons at $4 each and only a few pieces of pepperoni were added. Inconsistent to say the least. We LOVE Flatbread but this one has just let us down way too many times. The pizza has no sauce, is dry and just a huge disappointment compared to the other Flatbreads. Too bad. It's close to my house but will have to travel to Amesbury for a more genuine Flatbread experience/ quality. We are regular customers but their recent policy in Georgetown is no masks or vaccines required. No one including cooks, waitress or hostess wore a mask. When I questioned our waitress if she had been vaccinated she said no and was quite rude when I asked for another waitress. Every time I come here I'm met with friendly faces and quick service! If they are busy they always let you know they'll be right with you, which is totally understandable and I appreciate the acknowledgment!! The pizza is always always great!! My family and I were in the restaurant one evening last week when this man in the kitchen area who I'm assuming was the manager was screaming at this young girl in front of the entire restaurant. She was clearly upset. I'm sure she was very embarrassed and it was very upsetting for us to watch the embarrassment and disrespect from a manager towards this young lady. This is not an acceptable way to treat your employees, nevermind a young lady. Especially in front of customers! Needless to say, we won't be back. Awful experience. This was our second time here and we often forget about the Flatbread being here in Georgetown. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly young man and seated right in front of the pizza oven (per request since it was so frigid outdoors). Our waitress (who we failed to asks her name) was at our table immediately and was so cheerful as well. My friend and i decided on sharing the organic musculin salad without cheese and then decided on sharing two small pizzas: the homemade sausage with mushrooms and one we designed with the carne of the day which was the chicken sausage with sweet potatoes and mozzarella. The salad came pretty quickly and is always excellent. Our pizzas arrived about another 10-15 minutes later. We preferred the homemade sausage over the one we designed primarily due to the large amount of oregano that topped the "special" pizza. A little too over powering but overall the pizzas were good and service was great. Downside, we had Phantom Gourmet gift cards and this location has not yet been listed/accepted under the program since the location is so new but most (of all) the other Flatbread locations are. :-( Overall tab including tip was around $42. read more

The general manager at this place was so unprofessional and yelled at my husband and I for bringing in our own bowling balls. We didn't know this was not allowed and told the general manager this but he refused to accept this and yelled at us over and over again and held our balls hostage. There was no disclosure or anything written anywhere that you couldn't bring your own balls. We heard this general manager is new to this place and it really really shows. You do not speak to customers that way at all!!! I don't care if this general manager is stressed over the lanes or not, so unprofessional!!! I have eaten at many Flatbread locations, and this is by far the worst. Our last visit here will be my last. - They didn't clean the pizza ovens. The bottoms of the pizzas were littered with bitter tasting coals. - The toppings were almost non-existent. The Mopsy's Kalua Pork Pie had literally a tablespoon of pork on the entire large pizza. This meant that many of the slices had no (as in none) pork at all. - We got the vegan pizza and paid the extra $2.50 for vegan cheese. Again, you could *see* a couple of specks of cheese, but you most definitely couldn't feel it or taste it. There was no more than 1/8 cup on the entire pizza. - Service was slow. Really slow. I'll stick to the Bedford, Portsmouth, and Portland locations. read more

Manager said they would put the order in now (gluten free order was never put in by our waitress?). We told them not to bother. Manager said they would comp the pizza. The bill arrived with everything on it that we ordered (minus the gluten free that was never received), not sure they understand what comp means. Place was NOT busy, server never checked in after the original order arrived. Never had any issues before the name change. Will be going to Amesbury in the future. read more

Let me say first, I absolutely love Flatbread. I'm a lifelong fan of their food, their philosophy, their atmosphere, their staff - pretty much everything they stand for. I'd eat there seven nights a week if I could :) That said, there are two big issues that have become a major achilles heel for Flatbread Georgetown: 1) The staff doesn't have a good understanding of gluten free or dairy free orders. We often order dairy-free pizza and clearly specify we want vegan cheese and no regular cheese. However, we consistently get pizzas with regular cheese, or sometimes both regular and dairy-free cheese, which doesn't make sense if you're trained on why people order dairy-free pizza. Similarly, we've had problems with gluten-free crust orders, including several half-baked, soft, and doughy pizzas.  But the real heart of the problem is... 2) They need online ordering. Every time we call to order we engage in a friendly, but tedious, back and forth where we explain the order in detail, listen carefully to the readback, politely correct the mistakes, confirm the order, and then hold our breath.  Of our last 10 orders, only half have been right. The other half have been missing ingredients, have cheese on dairy-free pizzas, have regular crust instead of gluten-free crust, and a few other issues. Usually we don't say anything, because we know the staff is hustling to prepare orders for others. Sometimes the mistake is no big deal (missing onions), sometimes it ruins the meal (cheese on a dairy-free pizza).  Flatbread Georgetown: Online ordering became a basic, must-have, standard practice for restaurants many years ago. You can use 3rd party apps like GrubHub, Caviar, DoorDash, etc. or add your own system on your website from someone like Toast. There are dozens of easy solutions.  It would save your staff so much time taking orders. It would save diners from having to painstakingly explain, and re-explain, their orders. It would provide pickup time estimates and notifications, and simplify your current messy pickup experience. But most importantly, it would eliminate all the wasted time, money, energy, and food that comes with so many wrong orders.  We're not picky or difficult people. We're HUGE fans of Flatbread and want to see the chain continue to thrive and grow. But the archaic practice of phone ordering is a chronic unforced error. It makes us hesitate before every order and ask, "Is it worth it?" It's time to upgrade.  We love Flatbread Georgetown. When they get the order right, it's transcendent. The problem is that happens only half the time. read more

The past few times we've been here the place has been empty and the pizza hasn't been good. It's like they hired cooks who aren't trained to make the food. Did the experienced staff quit en masse? Even though it was dead, our vegan pizza took 40 minutes to get and it was overcooked and dry as a bone and our very nice waiter said "nibble on this and we'll make you another one and it will take about 20 minutes ". On both pies, the balsamic drizzle was overpowering and it just wasn't good. We also got a chicken pizza with Mexican flavors that was so dry and tasteless it was inedible. They ran out of their sour cream drizzle for it so it was even worse! On another pizza we got, the caramelized onions were tasteless and the sausage was almost nonexistent. The management is failing this restaurant and I don't see how it will stay open when nobody is eating here anymore. The only bright spot is the wait staff are nice. But the pizza cooks don't have a clue what they are doing. read more

We enjoy flatbreads menu and pizza, however this location in particular has been hit or miss for us. Today, specifically we went and as we walked in there were three people at the host stand, two teenaged girls who ignored us entirely, no eye contact or a word said and a younger man that was friendly and greeted us after realizing his co-workers didn't even bat an eye when we walked in. We sat at a high-top and were very impressed with our server who was one of the bar tenders, she was extremely friendly and very efficient. Pizza was good and definitely improved since we had been there previously. Overall, in our experience the food has been good but not always consistent, table service has been good. I think better training for the hosts would help, especially since they are a customers first impression of the restaurant and most people expect to actually be greeted when walking in. We will continue to come to this location because it's convenient for us and we like to golf at black swan BUT I will say the Amesbury flatbreads blows this location out of the water. read more

We have been to the American Flatbread Company, the first, original flatbread company in Waitsfield, VT (different owner from the Flatbread Company restaurants in MA.) and nothing can compare. We have also been to the Flatbread Company in Amesbury, Burlington and Somerville but the one in Georgetown is, by far, the worst. We were seated, and it took a quite a while to be waited on. When Kara finally came over she was apologetic and from then on attentive. She was a bright spot during our visit. This was our second visit with a month and we were surprised that the board specials hadn't changed And were unimaginative. Our pizzas came and the toppings were very skimpy. This pizza is expensive but we didn't get what we paid for. It wouldn't take much to improve but as I have read the other reviews they don't seem to be taking the reviews seriously. read more

Honestly doesn't stand up to the hype although the chicken bacon ranch pizza is absolutely fire the others are quite mediocre. Searching for a place to dine on a cold, Sunday evening, Flatbreads popped up.... and I thought, YES! It has been quite some time since I'd been to this location.... somehow I always forget the one in Georgetown.. If deciding on Flatbreads, it's usually the Amesbury one, my favorite. Upon arrival there was barely anyone there and we were seated right away. The server took our drink order within a few moments. Off to a good start. My dining companion ordered a salad with goat cheese. It arrived quickly and if there was ever a salad that I was envious not to have ordered, it was this one. From my viewpoint it contained the freshest mixed greens, shredded carrot, topped with sesame seeds along with a good portion of creamy goat cheese...Yum! Time to order the Flatbread. We decided to do a half combo. My choice was the herb, olive oil, and cheese. My companion chose a combo with black olives, sun dried tomatoes, red onion, and I'm not sure what else, meanwhile still munching on the delectable salad. ... And while doing so I was making another note in my head to make sure and order one next visit....And there will be one! I practically inhaled my portion of the meal. It was one of those things where - Yes, I was quite hungry and the choice just fit perfectly! I will add service was a bit laid back .. It wasn't bad. But lacking with a few touches : It would have been nice if our server had returned, asking if all was going well .. that didn't happen. But then again anyone remotely close had to notice the only 1-2 pieces - if that remaining on the platter. Noticing we needed drink refills perhaps is a lost art? I'm not sure... another thing that didn't happen. Those are usually 2 of the common niceties I prefer to experience when dining out.... Am I being too picky? I have called twice for takeout when they're website clearly says they should be open and got no answer. Then yesterday after golfing at the onsite country club we went in for a beer and a pizza. We waited an hour and no pizza was served (it was not busy inside). So we cancelled our pizza order, paid the bar tab and left. 0 for 3!
