I heartily enjoyed the sliced hanger steak sandwich and found the mix of horseradish mayo, sautéed mushrooms, and arugula on a toasted ciabatta to be perfection. I also tried the fried chicken sandwich which was well seasoned and made all that much better with the sriracha mayo and pickles! I will be back for certain to explore the rest of the sandwich and salad options, especially the capers and oyster mushroom sandwiches and roasted beet and goat cheese salads. They also offer baked goods from Newburgh Flower Shop down the block as well as a variety of coffee and tea drinks. If you get pickup, call the restaurant directly because the prices through Doordash are higher to compensate for the fees the restaurant has to pay. Good to have Toasted on the Liberty Street scene!

Even though it may a cost a little more than a sandwich from a national chain, the food is made with lots of care with fresh ingredients and the portion is enough for two lunches (at least for me). It was a little messy so I was glad I was outside to enjoy it. It's a small space inside (perhaps 5 square table for 2 each) and it's almost kitty corner to my favorite shop, Oliver & Chatfield. Since it's a little further down on Liberty street, you'll find plenty of street parking.

There's always a weekly special, which is often quite good. The chicken, bacon, ranch panini is always solid. My son loves the chicken quesadilla. My other kiddo loves the breakfast burger. We've tried probably everything on the menu and it's all solid. They also have fries and sweet potato fries (which come included with many of the items) which are plentiful. I like the sweet potato fries a bit better. The items that don't come with fries come with your choice of potato salad or coleslaw. I'm not a fan of either so I've never tried them here. As for drinks, they carry beer, Jaritos, coffee, Iced Tea, and some others. The desserts that we've tried have been quite good. Let's talk about last night…read more We came here to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday with a party of 10. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the employee at the front counter, who was friendly and seemed to be in a good mood. We paid $107 for an hour of bowling and headed to our lanes. About five minutes later, management approached us and said that one of our teenagers had called an employee the N-word. We were told we had to leave immediately and that we would not receive a refund. We were completely shocked. We had no idea what they were talking about, so we tried to understand what had happened. During the discussion, we were told the police had been called. At that point, I gathered my family and waited near the entrance for the officers. We asked for some explanation, security footage, or any details about the alleged incident, but we were told the employee was too upset to come out and explain what had happened. I want to give credit to the officers from the Wappingers police department, they handled the situation professionally and took the time to listen to both sides. After speaking with us and then with the employee, it became clear that she had overheard one of the teenagers using the N-word while talking among themselves, not directing it at her. That is a very different situation from what we were originally accused of. The officer then asked management to contact the owner about refunding our money, and thankfully we did receive a full refund. We left and spent the rest of the evening somewhere else. My biggest issue isn't that someone was offended, it's how the situation was handled. Before getting the facts, management accused our family of directing a racial slur at an employee, called the police, and attempted to remove us without a refund. That was embarrassing and upsetting for everyone involved. I left feeling that the situation was handled far too quickly without a proper investigation or giving our family an opportunity to explain what had actually happened. I hope management reviews its procedures so future customers are treated more fairly before such serious accusations are made.
