We had the 2 kiddos in tow for a Wednesday and learned that arcade games at Bowlero are 1/2 priced…read moreon Wednesdays.  Yaay for the lucky kiddos!  Anyway, I also found that the various Bowlero's in our vicinity have different hours on Wednesday, I guess due to local business demand.  This Bowlero opens 1pm-11pm on Wednesday, whereas the Bowlero Mount Prospect opens 2pm-11pm and the Bowlero Niles opens 4:30pm-11pm.  So we trekked up here as the earlier the better it was for us on this hot summer day.   Brian and Chris were the fine and helpful pair of staffers on duty and Brian explained the arcade workings for us as we've never been in a Bowlero (though the kiddos have) - checking the kiddo's card balances, the value of the games, showing us the remaining balance display, unjamming a machine when needed, etc. We had the arcade area to ourselves and the kiddos had an energetic blast for about an hour.  We loaded on $10 for each of them and they also each had about $8 on their existing cards.   So it seemed they spent about $36 in an hour and that seemed a bit expensive to me, especially for a 1/2 price Wednesday.  They did earn some trinklets with their ticket winnings though and these are dispensed from a self-service Prize Hub machine.  For what it's worth I remember getting an hour's worth of arcade entertainment for the 2 at Chuck 'N Cheese for $20, and we now have a basis for comparison anyway.  One of the kiddos said the arcade here is bigger than the one at Niles, and we also heard separately that the Buffalo Grove arcade is quite large also. As far as bowling here goes, they have 40 nice and shiny lanes. Weekday games are $6 and weekend games are $10.  Shoe rental is $6.  I don't see us bowling at a Bowlero but it could fit your family's interest or needs.  I'll go with 3 stars as Bowlero seemed about an average value from this experience, but the kiddos had a grand time in any event.

I called and they said come in and we will take care of it. When we got there and asked about it the cashier just said "no" and couldn't care less when I said I had called ahead. Then when trying to use the kiosk to buy arcade credits I couldn't get the machine to work, despite a worker walking by several times seeing me trying to use the machine, when I finally flagged him down he was like "oh yeah it's not working come to the desk." Ok maybe put a sign on the machine or when you see me trying to use it let me know!? Really poor customer service!

There is a bar located about 3/4 into the building and a food area at the end of the building next to the aracde. We ordered food: pizza, onion rings, and mac-n-cheese bites. The onion rings we crisp and the batter was not too think, it was just the right amount. The pizze was a thicker thin crust and tasted good. The pizza was tasty which can be hot or miss at a bowling alley. The night was really fun and I am excited about my friend's son and the next chapter of his life.

I know it was a Friday night but the "surge" pricing wasn't justified. The place was dead! The cost to bowl on the weekend is $12 per person PER GAME, plus $6 for shoes. They also give zero children's discounts. I don't think Lucky Strike understands the income of families around here, and while it's decent, this place far exceeds what they are comfortable spending, hence, the place was empty. 2. Food and drinks 4 stars. They use servers to order and bring your food to your lane, which is nice, but the tip just added to the cost. We got the traditional sampler platter for $37. It came with wings, chx strips, fried mozzarella, pretzel sticks and fries. It was wonderful and plentiful. Every single item was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. We got one kids chx strip and fries meal ($10) but the platter we got made it unnecessary, so it was overkill. Prices for cocktails were within range for the area ($15). The one disappointment with the cocktails was my margarita. They used a pre-made mix (yuck) and I couldn't taste the tequila; it was also overly sweet. I also love a salted rim but the server didn't ask and I forget to say request it. 3. Arcade. 5 stars for older kid and adult games, but 1 star for the little ones. There was almost nothing our grandkids could do. I found only one activity suitable for them. It would be great to have some space that little ones could have fun in. A jumping mat would be great, for starters. The place is crazy loud and chaotic but not unexpected for being a fun zone. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The overall decor and cleanliness was very good. We would love to go back but can't afford to spend $270 for 3 games of bowling for 4 people plus food & drinks. One and done for us, unfortunately.

Before anyone is approved for membership, an email is sent out to existing members, asking for guidance. Members, who knew I was more cautious when it came to masking and my kids, wrote the board asking them to reject our application because of it. The board will refuse to tell you why you were rejected, they just respond by saying, "We stand by our decision". To boot, they informed us by sending a FedEx Express letter that arrived the day after Christmas, and my husband opened and read said letter out loud in front of my kids and parents. The board members did not take the time to meet my family or talk to us. We were left dumbfounded. Biltmore is literally high school all over again. You have the popular girls members and legacy members with a lot of money, and if they don't like you, you won't be allowed into their club. My family's rejection upset and surprised A LOT of people because I'm also a local business owner, a founding member of the Barrington Women In Business group, and President of the Biltmore Oaksbury mom group. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and steer clear of Biltmore. It's not worth the hype. Apply at Barrington Hills Country Club, Wynstone Country Club, or Long Grove.

There was ample parking when we arrived, and the entrance to the theatre was clearly marked. We were immediately greeted by a gentleman at the ticket counter who was absolutely wonderful. I wish I had remembered his name--he was so warm and welcoming and made us feel genuinely happy to be there. The seats were very comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of legroom. I really appreciated not feeling cramped, as I often do in many other theatres. The live music, lighting, sound, acting, and singing were all top-notch. I was incredibly impressed by my experience here and can't wait to return for another show!

As a patron of the arts, I am privileged enough to see a variety of shows in a variety of spaces and the Citadel is one that I can say is consistently great and offers a variety of shows at very reasonable prices. The theatre space is not huge, but for me, that means there is never a bad seat in the house! They have a reasonably priced concession stand and have a wonderful staff in the lobby that is always friendly and helpful. Bonus points for them always have little touches that reflect the current show--for example, today's show revolved around college admissions and there were all of these college pennants adorning the walls. There are clean bathrooms, an accessible bathroom, and there is plenty of parking. The seats are comfortable, well-spaced, and the sound system is great. My grandmother is a little hard of hearing and she can hear most everything the actors have to say! I always look forward to my evenings planned at the Citadel Theatre!
