I found a number of cars to look at went to dealers to look after work every night for a week, with no luck at any Nashville dealer I tried. I had found 6 vehicles at International Cars in Murfreesboro that I wanted to see, so they were my first stop when I had a full day off on Saturday. Hala didn't flinch when I showed her a list of 6 cars I wanted to see, but simply got the keys for all of them for me and gave me a magnetic license plate so I could move it from car to car when I was ready to test drive. She gave me plenty of time to look each car over, make notes, and test drive them but was always available when I needed something. I am better able to look and make a decision without someone hovering or giving me a sales pitch, so I very much appreciated the space and patience. I was there for hours, and ended up test driving 8 cars - some of them twice after my boyfriend met me there to take a look at my favorites. Hala, her husband, and the rest of the team were helpful without hovering, and were able to answer any question we had about the cars. I finally settled on one I wanted to buy that day, but pointed out 3 things that needed to be fixed, which they took care of before Hala and I could even finish the paperwork on the loan and sale. I had already been pre-approved for a car loan with USAA, and Hala dialed their number from my office phone and waited while I finished the loan process, providing any information I needed for that loan. She also waited while I worked with USAA to transfer my insurance to the new vehicle, and made sure I had everything I needed to drive home in that new car the same day I bought it. The entire team at International Cars was helpful but not pushy and I felt very welcome. Their cars are nice and every one I tested drove well. I would definitely visit this dealer again the next time I need to buy a vehicle.

I began communicating with TJ Potts of Absolute Auto Center regarding the purchase of a 2013 Ford…read moreF-150. During our communications, Mr. Potts represented that the truck was in great condition, had a "super nice interior," and that despite prior accidents, "you couldn't even tell" the vehicle had been involved in four minor-to-moderate accidents. The online listing also advertised the vehicle as a "non-smoker vehicle." Based on these representations, I paid a $500 deposit to secure the truck while paperwork was being completed. During the process, I became uncomfortable with requests to send additional funds without signed paperwork or clear shipping arrangements, so I decided to personally inspect the truck before completing the purchase. I traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Nashville, Tennessee to inspect the vehicle in person. Upon arrival, I immediately discovered a strong cigarette smoke odor throughout the truck, significant dents and scratches on the right side of the vehicle, and a large gash in the sidewall of one tire. These defects were not disclosed prior to my trip and directly contradicted the representations made to me. After confronting the dealership about these issues, I was initially told my deposit would be refunded if I chose not to purchase the truck. However, after declining to proceed with the purchase due to the undisclosed defects and lack of trust in the dealership, the dealership refused to return my $500 deposit. This place is shady and I would never recommend buying a car from them unless you're a mechanic.

Immediately after purchase, I encountered multiple problems. The key fob had a dead battery, and the TPMS light was illuminated due to tire-related issues. These concerns were apparent before I even had time to familiarize myself with the vehicle--there was a non-matching spare tire stored in the trunk, and the vehicle did not include a jack. In addition, within two days, a further issue arose with the backup sensors. I contacted the dealership regarding this matter, and the problem was acknowledged only after the fact. The interior also had an obvious odor of dog, and the vehicle was delivered with approximately two-thirds of a tank of gas. I also found the sales process, particularly the conduct of the salesman (TJ), to be unprofessional. Despite my credit union verifying the transaction and providing payment that was mailed the next day, the salesman's attitude made the process feel reluctant and discourteous. Overall, the dealership provided poor service and left me responsible for addressing problems that should have been corrected or disclosed prior to purchase.
