There were a couple people already waiting in line when we arrived, but no one at the register. After a few more minutes the people ahead of us got tired of waiting and left. We had already had our minds set on a few menu items to try so we waited. The team member who took our order was very nice but a bit slow at the register. We weren't in a rush, so it didn't really bother us. The husband was quite hungry, so we ended up over-ordering -- House Chips & Cheese, Potato Bacon Pizza, Short-Rib Melt and Pastrami. It all came our pretty fast and it was ALOT (lol)! The House Chips were generous, fresh and tasty. The Potato Bacon pizza was delicious! The sandwiches, although flavorful, were kinda skimpy. We felt that we were biting into mostly bread. The fries were hot and super crispy. Service was great overall. There's a flat screen TV in the middle of the dining room that was showing college football. I liked that takeout boxes for leftovers were easily accessible to everyone. There's ample seating inside and several picnic tables at the shared area outside. The layout is nice with three connected establishments -- Freda's, Rori's and Topa Topa. Salads are big and they have a variety. Service is hit or miss to be honest. I've gone and it's been spot on, quick, and attentive. I've also gone and it's take 45 minutes for one pizza to be made. I think they have gone through new employees over the years and when it's new employees working the service can be slow. I know one time I was in there and the kid behind the register was going snails pace...unfortunately this was on the local college's graduation day so the place was packed. I should have known better. Like any place, try to go during non-peak hours. Easier said than done with work and such. We just went on a Friday at opening (12pm) and the service was fantastic. We like to sit outside in the covered patio. Parking is awful as the Blvd is always busy. Just have to pray and try to time it out nicely. I do appreciate that Freda's is next to and in same building as Rori's ice cream and Topa Topa Brewing. Pizza, ice cream, and beer/hard seltzer/ciders. And Cafe Ficelle is also next door so add good iced coffee to the mix! Good combination for a couple of hours with friends and the kids.

I picked a floppy greasy slice up and took a bite to discover the burnt bottom. The sauce was devoid of any flavor, just a water mess that mixed with the grease and dripped in the paper plate with each bite. I guess it was what you'd expect at a bowling alley but I felt disappointed and deceived by the 4 stars on Yelp. In fact we came here specifically to try the pizza and ended up bowling as well. After the first bite I thought to myself that I had paid for it, $25 + tip. I was also hungry, and so I ate 3 slices. I figured if I could get 3 slices down I guess it's worth 2 stars. However a few hours later my stomach was angry with me, it audibly let me know how upset it was, and I fear it's retribution for what I put in it. The place is old, has that old bowling alley smell, and is in need of renovating. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell it's a local gem. The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. I had the classic pepperoni pizza, and it was absolutely delicious--cheese that stretches just right, and the pepperoni was perfectly crispy. They also have a fantastic variety of specialty pies, each with unique flavors that keep me coming back for more. I've always been a fan of the pizza at Ameci's. My last visit to this restaurant is what inspired this review. For the the first time in a while I felt as if I was actually welcome at a restaurant. They didn't roll their eyes when I walked in (like other pizza restaurants I've been to) This is definitely one of my go to restaurants and I was pleasantly surprised when I met the new personnel. I've been to several ameci's in the county, but this one by far, is my favorite. Today's pizza was unreal! It was a half combo and half (get this!) Pastrami, pickles and mustard... OMG.. Heaven. This place is great! I've ordered many times from here. I use to buy the "Giant" size pizza just so id have more left for the next day but it started to seem like they stretch the "Jumbo" size to make it into the giant if that makes since. The staff member was absolutely without personality -- no one could say or do anything that would elicit a human interaction. It's as if he only heard words related to your order. Overall, an unpleasant experience.

One thing I noticed right away was that the prices weren't displayed on the menu, so I had no idea how much anything cost before ordering. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza because the menu photo showed it topped with slices of ham and pineapple. Unfortunately, when I saw my pizza, it only had pineapple and no ham. For $21 for a medium pizza, I expected it to include the protein that was pictured. The pizza itself was good, but I was disappointed that it didn't match the menu photo.

I was on the run buying Thanksgiving whatnots and this was the perfect stop. They were parked behind the Wendy's at Holser in Oxnard. It was raining but that did not stop me. I ordered and asked if I could get more toppings on my pizza ... well no because they special is 1 topping . Makes complete sense and fair. The young man ringing me up was patient and helpful. They asked me to wait in my car as it was cold and they did not want me to get soaked. They brought my order to my car. Super kind! The pizza I got , topped with Canadian bacon was crunch and good. Also tried the tortellini, filled with beef and it was good. I shared with my sibling when I got home and they really liked it as well. $10 for a pizza is such a great deal and I will be back! It's a family run business and I love that. The brick and mortar has been in town since 1966 on Redwood in Oxnard. Please support this family ran business. They deserve all the love and truly love what they do! The ambiance in my car was great .. lol! Music playing and eating yummy food. They are on insta under handle ilovelittketonys .
