Hands-down, my favorite Slice House location. The quality consistency. Here is definitely top-notch. This is vastly superior than the Simi location. I live closer to that location. I've recognized the quality here overall is way better and just more consistent. If you're looking for a good Detroit style pizza, this place is phenomenal! My Italian boyfriend and I went to the Slice House by Tony Gemignani, which is located right on Thousand Oaks Blvd. at the corner of the T.O. postoffice. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building, so we parked and headed on in. They're next door with another restaurant, and are so close that they practically also share the same eating area outside. We ordered a half sausage and half pepperoni and sausage pizza for pick-up. When we get inside, we realized that it's a pretty small place. There's not too much to it other than a few tables and an even tinier fridge in the corner with the drinks with some alcoholic options. We paid for our pizza and left, wanting to eat it back at home. After eating, we'd rate it about a 4/5! Pricier than somewhere like Dominoes or Pizza Hut, but tastes better, at least in our opinion. We'd definitely be open in trying a different style of pizza from them, but don't know if we'd make this our normal place justttt yet. read more

Expensive pizza that was underwhelming. I've had a lot of pizza in my life and I was very excited to try this one, but it didn't hit like I hoped. It was late in the evening and we stopped by. The interior was very smoky and the building has very poor ventilation. This place was PACKED. I looked at the various options and decided to split a pizza with my brother. It had all the good stuff tomatoes, onions, meat, etc. I took a bite and it wasn't anything special and definitely not worth the price. I know it's all fresh, good quality stuff but something was missing. I don't see myself coming back simply because of the prices and what I ended up getting. This recent experience at Slice House was very different from the others. We ordered for pick up, as we normally do. Drive the 20 mins each way and get home to see instead of the Calabrese peppers that we added, there was Calabrese sausage. Not so good for vegetarians. When we called they said they did that because they were out of the peppers. um??? So we had to drive another 20 mins back and forth to get another one without meat. And they still wanted to charge us which was confusing. THEN- we finally sit down to eat at home, after 80 minutes of driving and there's no sauce on the pizza. It was basically cheese bread. Great pizzeria that offers a variety of pizza styles. Had to try the wise guy, it was a New York style pizza that had a blend of flavors. Spicy sausage, riccota and their sauce gave the pizza a mix of sweet and heat altogether. The Hawaiian Hitman was a Detroit style pizza that was a unique take on pineapple with ham, different flavors and a good crust base, the Detroit style way. The use of pineapple rings was a good choice, felt like it gave a good spread of sweetness with the Smokey ham/bacon as well. Added chili flakes and it was even better. Service was great, pizza didn't take too long and staff checked in from time to time. Ambiance was great for a Wednesday afternoon. Not too busy considering the small joint but plenty of open seats in the outdoor patio. Noticed many customers had their pizza to go so that's saying something. Will come back for more! read more

Best pizza in the area! Great location right off of TO blvd. Pizza shop is super cute inside. Definitely the best customer service too. We order from Slice House just about every Sunday! We order pizza w/out cheese due to a dairy allergy and they accidentally sprinkled parm on top and we weren't able to eat it but they offered us two comp pizzas and were extremely apologetic. Superior management and customer service which we really appreciate especially by the manager Paul H! The way they slide their pineapple for the pizzas is chefs kissss too. Meeting buddies for lunch at 12:30 on a Friday. No wait at the counter to order. Friendly servers behind the counter to help. The parking lot was packed but I got the last spot. No problem getting a table for our group on the patio. I went with a Detroit style slice - the Little Italy ($7.50). A huge thick crust slice with sausage and other toppings. Delish. Went back to give this place a second chance and it was a little better, but still not as good as their Fountain Valley location for some reason. I got a couple slices of the Motörhead Detroit style pizza I loved in FV. The slices came out a little well done so I sent one back, got one that was slightly less burnt. I had ordered 5 slices for more table, in lieu of them bringing it out, I was called up to get the slices. The exchanged slice was brought out to me though, as at that point they were bringing everyone's slices out. This place gets 4.5 stars for its value, price, taste and interior cleanliness. I really enjoyed the square slices particularly the sausage and pepperoni one and also burrata pesto one. Not many places sell this amount of pizza variety by the slice so that really gave it extra points. Their hot honey is also delicious and even tastier and has more depth than the typical hot honey. Their NY slices particularly the pepperoni could use a little more cheese flavor for my liking but all in all this is a solid spot and great value. read more

I go to Slice House every week. The pizza is outstanding. The pizzas in the front case that can be ordered by the slice are varied and a great representative of the different styles available. We usually order several different slices. I noticed something the last 3 times I ordered whole pizzas. The sauce cheese and toppings go to about 2" to the crust. The featured pizzas that can be ordered by the slice have sauce, cheese and toppings all the way to within an inch or less towards the crust. This is obviously by design. The by the slice choices are intentionally attractive to show customers what types they can order. But the whole pizzas cut way back on the sauce, cheese and toppings. We won't be ordering whole pizzas from Slice House in the future, but will continue to order by the slice. A bit disappointing but the pizza is excellent so we'll continue to enjoy Slice House read more

Again, the reviews are mixed. For us, we live down the street so it's convenient. Is it the best pizza in town? No. Is it better than average? Yes. Is it bit on the expensive side? Very much so. I love Detroit style pizza and they are one of the few in town who do it. And it's pretty good. But $35 for 6 pieces is a bit rich. Weekdays they have a deal for a large pepperoni or cheese pizza with 3 meatballs and two cookies for 35 bucks. Pretty fair. Cookies like the junk you get in a tube. Definitely not respecting that craft. Bummer is you can't modify it with less or no cheese. You have to call them and deal with some AI robot and when you finally get connected to a human it's too late half the time. Really wish they would fix this. But I'm never surprised when a 13-time world champion pizzaiola franchises this kind of thing and doesn't work out the most basic of bugs. Another bonus is the rewards program. At least you get something back at some point for the loyalty. Overall it's better than average. It could be better but if you keep your expectations low, you won't be disappointed. read more

They weren't even busy. 5.25 was when it was done. Not sure why I even bothered to order online if they won't start making the pizza until I arrive. I am leaving this review not on the quality and taste of the food it is amazing and I am so happy they have opened up in Thousand Oaks , I am writing this review because we have ordered multiple times form grub hub for delivery and when they first opened it was great but the last few times we ordered including today there have been items missing and the pizza has arrived cold , my hope in writing this is that the manager or owner of this location seriously looks in to their own deliver service because grub hub is going to give them a bad name ! Sure grub hub refunded what was missing but the pizza was still cold and if I were to reorder what was missing on Grubhub I Would be hit with a ton of fees and it would end up dbl the price of what they refunded me , I do want to say me and my family love slice house -and in my opinion it's worth every penny my issue is that when you are spending a decent amount of money for pizza you expect it delivered at least warm so I think unfortunately for the future we will be ordering from toppers I know it's not as good but at least it arrives hot and if the make a mistake on the order they send another driver out to correct it read more

Just tried the Ventura location but our first visit was Thousand Oaks,where we ordered slices,and on the reheat the cheese turns into an oily mess and wifey said it tasted like yesterday's pizza! First time here since I was in the area for a play, decided to stop by in this place. Look at my pepperoni slice...notice anything? Half the slice no pepperonis... and for the price?? I got burned. The slices were ok since I didn't get pepperoni in every bite. They shouldn't give it like that. Service was eh. Would've given 0 stars, first you can't, but the pizza was ok or maybe I was just hungry. Update! I reached out and they send me a gift card, even though I don't live close by one, I'm gonna have to plan a trip around that area again or Burbank. I went there as I've been hearing about it and just moved back into town. I had already gone to a competitor that had similar pizzas. I really liked this place. I liked the atmosphere. The service was good. The pizza was good, but I've only been there once, but I'm definitely looking forward to going back. Never thought I'd find a pizza place that rivals Toppers, yet here I am. So many tasty sounding variety of pizzas, any of which can be made four different ways. You can buy by the slice or whole pizzas of course. They also have wings, pasta and salad too. The place is small and really seems like they are ready to expand. I feel sorry for the Mexican restaurant next door that has to compete with this place. Service was excellent and efficient, something I appreciate highly. So the pizzas we tried were the Motohead, Sweet Geno, and the Angelito. All were very good in their own right. My personal favorite was the Angelito. After finding Parma Pizzeria closed in Thousand Oaks I ended up here for the third time and once again the pizza tastes burnt. I am not sure how hard it is to make a good tasting pizza but somehow they keep missing the mark. With Parma closed I feel a real loss because the pizza around here is not what it used to be. Most of the places now taste like generic Midwest pizza like Idaho Ohio or Kentucky. Thousand Oaks used to be a stronghold for great local pizza but it has definitely gone downhill.
