Visiting Las Vegas for a summer vacation, I was having lunch at one of my usual favorite spots when I happened to pass by American Shooters. Of course, curiosity got the better of me. I mainly wanted to check out things I normally can't do back home in California - renting Staccatos, trying different pistols, and being able to shoot at a faster cadence without someone immediately yelling, "One shot per second!" I really liked the setup. The shooting range is on one side, while the other side is a full firearms shop with plenty of goodies to look at. The whole place was bright, clean, and surprisingly modern. I especially liked the waiting area in front of the range. In retrospect, it really didn't feel like the usual dark, old-school shooting range. The staff at the front desk and inside the store were very friendly, warm, helpful, and all smiles. I also liked that the place is openly pro-2A. They even gave me a couple of stickers for my collection, which was a nice little bonus. One thing that surprised me was that they charge a separate rental fee for each pistol. That is a little different from what I am used to, and it can add up quickly. Still, you're in Vegas, so why not? Plus, they allow rapid fire, unlike many ranges back in Kaliforniastan. I first warmed up with my own Glock 17 with a red dot, shooting at a cadence I normally don't get to enjoy back home. After that, I rented an H&K, an M&P, and two different flavors of Staccato. It was a fun little comparison session. All in, I spent around $170. That included the $24 lane fee, two standard pistol rentals, two Staccato rentals, 100 rounds of 115-grain CCI Blazer Brass, and a few targets. Not exactly cheap, but considering the number of pistols I tried, and simply being in Vegas, it was still worth doing. The only minor annoyance was with one of the staff working the firing line. I normally use the extra metal clips as weights at the bottom of the paper target so it doesn't flap around from bullet impact. Call me OCD. He told me, "That is not how it is used," with a little attitude behind it. Honestly, it felt like he was making up a rule on the fly rather than explaining an actual range policy. If the concern was safety, or that I might accidentally hit the clips, he could have simply said so. That would have been completely reasonable. Instead, "that is not how it is used" sounded more like a personal interpretation than an established rule. Technically, if I had placed cardboard behind the paper and clipped all four corners, it would have accomplished essentially the same thing. But hey, I'm the visitor, so I listened, removed the clips, and moved on. Overall, American Shooters was a clean, friendly, and enjoyable range with a great selection of rentals and a much more modern atmosphere than many ranges I have visited. The separate rental fees and that one slightly nitpicky interaction on the firing line keep it from being a full five stars, but I would definitely come back the next time I am in Vegas! Four stars.

I've done several reviews here, IMHO there are many decent places to shoot here, good indoor ranges all, but I think what sets American Shooters apart are the people at both the actual range side and the retail side. With respect to the range check in .... I think that the two individuals I see on my weekly trips are 100% rock stars .... Henny and Amanda rule the counter with great humor, conversation, and efficiency that makes check in, target selection, range lane assignment and if you are in the weapon rental mind... pretty darn efficient and just a darn pleasure. The guys (range safety officers) running the actual range are great... not only do they insure the range operates safely and strictly by the book, they are always willing to help with a minor weapon problem, offer some marksmanship advise or just check in with us regular members. Now the retail side is always checked out after a shooting section. I must apologize that I don't recall any of the guys names other than Brad. I'm pretty much a sig sauer shooter and the retail side is a sig elite dealer, so it is always stocked with the newest models and accessories. My shooting family and I have purchased quite a few "sigs" there and their sales and service is top notch. Bottom line, if I'm practicing my marksmanship at an indoor range, it only American Shooters!

I've been around firearms for a long time, but American Shooters is easily one of the most welcoming ranges I've visited in Vegas. The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though I'm very experienced, I can see how their attitude makes the environment much nicer for newbies who might be intimidated. The Experience: Process: Super easy--just fill out the waiver on the iPad and they sign you in. RSOs: The Range Safety Officers were great. They were friendly and stayed hands-off once they saw I knew what I was doing. Performance: Ran drills at 10 yards (head) and 25 yards (torso). The lanes are well-lit and the facility is very clean, which makes for a productive session. Value: Hard to beat $24 for the whole day (good until they close). I brought my own guns, ammo, and targets, so for a straight range fee, the value is excellent. Highly recommend this spot whether you're a local or just passing through. I'll definitely be back.

Quick and easy check in process, lounge area while you wait, clean, professional, and a good time. S/o to our guide Alan who was witty and very knowledgeable and patient with us! They are owned federally so you CANNOT shoot while under the influence in any way & if you smell like it - they will turn you away. They have a HUGE selection & You're also able to bring in your own for firing practice as well. Found them on Groupon but decided not to go with the deal and went anyways - they honored the deal when I mentioned it . Seemed like it was a hidden promo / deal ... so be sure to ask when they start talking about the packages (cheapest is $100 for the weapons)

This was my first time ever handling guns, so I was a bit nervous at first. Thankfully, my coach/guide was extremely knowledgeable and made sure I felt safe and confident throughout the experience. I went with the handgun package and absolutely had a blast! The Desert Eagle was intense--definitely gave me a headache even with ear protection--but it was so much fun. If you're looking for a fun, safe, and educational shooting experience in Vegas, I'd highly recommend American Shooters.

I've been to American Shooters 5 times in the last year and I highly recommend coming here to get your target practice in. I've done target practice only and so far the entire staff at the registers and in the shooting area watch out for you and come alongside and ask if you need help. I think that's great customer service and it shows that they care about their customers. They also have classes for those who want to learn how to shoot and to learn more about local gun laws etc... The rule here is every time you come to shoot you always have to sign a waiver when you come in for target practice no matter how many times you've been here in the past. I think they have the best pricing if your shooting your own gun and it covers a whole day of shooting . I usually go for no more than two hours and that's usually enough for me. Overall, I think this is a great shooting range and I highly recommend it!

I was at the Range, and you have the most amazing line up of firearms to rent and try. The facility is clean and orderly, and the registration process was easy. Most importantly, I enjoyed my experience because of your staff. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They assisted me with what I wanted to do, introduced themselves and one cannot but feel to be instantly part of a family. I will surely recommend American Shooters to all my friends and family, I will surely return back for more enjoyable experience. There are more firearms that I would like to try. They also have a firearms store that I still yet need to check out one of these days.

Nice indoor range with good service. The facility is modern and nice. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Check in process and waivers were super easy and fast via iPads. Prices were reasonable for the area. Plenty of variety for firearm rentals, just fyi for rentals you have to buy their ammo. The range was well kept, clean and tidy. Targets were easy to set up and send out in a decent size space. Had a good time shooting here, you can do pistols and rifles. Would recommend

Nice range and store but range time is expensive. The ammo is way overpriced so I suggest you bring your own.

Ask the Community - American Shooters

Is American Shooters still in business? Range and Sales not answering after repeated tries.

They're undergoing new management, on their instagram they posted that they're closed until further notice after the old owner sold. Hoping they'll be back soon

Can i bring my own guns (22 and 12 caliber)? And just rent a lane?

Yes you can bring your own guns

    Do you offer HR-218 qualifications?

I'm not 100%, but I'd say doubtful. I was under the impression that LEOSA Quals had to be conducted by the authorizing entity (Army, Airforce, Local PD, ...)

Can two people share 1 Range Package?

Perhaps, but really it does go fast... so I wouldn't recommend it.

Hello, I was wondering about age requirements?

I think over 8 but has to accompanied by an adult

How much for the range fee?

standard range fee $20 LE, 1st responder, Military w/ ID $15 youth $10…
