They installed 3 windows that were specifically NOT approved by the permit that the city of Glendale specified. The installers new this was the case, but they installed non-approved windows anyway. I was shocked when the inspector show up to approve the installation and showed me that he would not approve it because these were not the windows that were on the permit. This required me to jump through hoops to try and resolve this with the city. Before you have them or any company install your windows, have them show you the permit approval BEFORE the installation. read more

I have my 10 windows and 2 doors installed yesterday by American Vision Windows. Overall it's good. There are two crews working on this project. One crew Andrew and Calos worked on the downstairs big windows and door plus two stair windows in second floor. They are supper supper good. The five windows Andrew worked on including two stair windows in second floor are awesome! The cut is well, leveled perfect, fully sealed, great finished and cleaned as a whistle! The doors Calos worked on are perfect too. The sliding, the lock, the level, the finish and the cleaning... everything is perfect! I would gave this crew A++ for their work and really appreciate what they did for my house and the attitude they treat their work! Very professional and organized. The second crew weren't that good, not organized and not very professional. They made couple mistakes. Missing parts in warehouse, install wrong windows(XO to OX), Not level the windows and rushed to finish... good thing is that they tried to fix those after I pointed them out. Because they didn't level the windows in the beginning and need to kind of redo the installation and trims to fix it, it's like you cut the coat with error and then make it a vest.. Hopefully they sealed them well and fill all the holes between frames and windows so I don't need to call them after one or two years. I had two small bathrooms windows with only 11"x7", they didn't clean such small things! They broken the tiles when they were doing the finish outside. I know it's common since it's second floor but they didn't even mention to me after!! Luckily I took the photos before and after. I pointed that out later and asked them just seal it with silicone so it won't leak. They did. This morning I checked the bedroom sliding door installed by second crew, I found another issue. They didn't clean the carpet area in the patio when installing the door and one piece of the carpet was stuck in the door. No wonder they kicked the door so hard to try to push it in yesterday! Of cause not that successful in but acceptable. The finish is so so many bumps in the area they applied silicone. Since it's bedroom sliding door to patio, we don't use it very often. Finger crossed it won't leak or have other issues later! It was a little late and they needed to rush home yesterday so no final walk through at all. I don't worry too much since they have whole life warranty but I treat it as unprofessional. The windows quality is good and it reduced a lot of noice which I can feel and I cared more. I should give 5 stars for the first crew and their great work but there is only one review for the whole project so I can only gave it a barely 4 star for this project because of all those happened. I highly recommend Calos and Andrew to everyone if you want to have a worry free windows installation! read more

All the employees are nice, friendly and very professional. I was sorry they were able to remove the old door in one piece; I had really wanted to see them break it out. The new door was installed and everything was back to perfect in about half an hour. Five workers arrived within 15 minutes of our scheduled time of 8am to install six new windows. They covered all inside areas with plastic and floor tarps and moved furniture before starting and all worked very efficiently and steadily to complete the job. They took time to explain how each window worked, could be removed or cleaned and did a final walk through with me. This review is late in coming. I actually gave these folks a very good review six years ago but over the past four years, as flaws and problems have become apparent I just need to say my piece. One of the first problems was in the measuring. We ordered shutters as well as windows and the major perk of these widows was being able to let them drop down inside the house to wash them. There was an obstacle to the shutters which did not allow them to open enough to accommodate the drop down window so we paid for that upgrade and we could not use it. To be fair, we were refunded some money for that inconvenience. We had a similar problem with a window in another room and it took months to have that remedied but had the window frame destroyed in the process. Just recently, while cleaning one set of shutters I was running my hand done the side and discovered what appeared to be a dent. Upon closer examination I found that it was, indeed, a dent but one that had been covered up by a similar colored putty as the shutter. It did take me a while to find it but......really? They installed a damaged shutter and covered it up.....KNOWINGLY! These things cost THOUSANDS of dollars! There have been other issues....poor installation, marred and nicked window frames, little things you don't notice until months have passed and you are over the initial awe of your new windows. Also, my 90 year old mother had windows and blinds installed. There is a lifetime warranty on all products. The one shade stopped functioning quite a while ago and we were remiss in having if fixed immediately. When I called, recently, to have it repaired/replaced I was informed that they did not deal with window coverings anymore and was basically told to pound sand. So much for their warranty. So, all that being said, yes, they all appear to be nice, professional, patient and knowledgeable. They are salespeople and do their jobs well...they sell. American Vision Windows replaced a sliding glass door in our bedroom and did a fantastic job. Tim, the rep who came out to give us an estimate was knowledgeable, friendly and quick with great info about the door we would be getting. He said it would be a great door and it is. The quality of the door is fantastic (we LOVE it!). Another man came out to measure (Josh? I can't remember his name) and he was great with telling us what they would do to get the old door out and the new one in. We liked how he described everything and it sounded like they would make the door beautiful with new molding and trim. The finished product was exactly like this man said. The two men who installed it (Richard and Aaron) were professional, friendly, and nice to have working at the house. They worked quickly with expert skill and didn't mind my 3 yr old grandson watching them work from a safe distance before naptime. Richard and Aaron made the door look as beautiful as "Josh" said it would be. I can't say enough positive about this experience and we are thrilled with the quality of the sliding door and all the workmanship in installing it. I just had windows installed with American Vision Windows. Had heard their ads on radio, and have passed their showroom probably thousands of times. Had them quote me my job. I gave them the business after shopping and quoting about 4 different companies. This was a big job - 19 windows and 3 sliding glass doors. It was not cheap, but I was impressed with the quality of the product from Anlin that they had proposed. The install process was 1 day. Though it took about 2 months for the windows to be built and shipped. These windows are a cartridge replacement that "snaps in" around the old window frame. It makes the process pretty quick. Mine was 22 openings in one day. The crew made quick work of it. Already noticing that the heat gain is much less, and the increased insulation of them holds in the heat or cool. It is also much quieter, as we hear far less outside noise and din. The installers did a fine, clean job, and the house has a cleaner look. I would like to mention my crew: Tim was the project mgr/sales; the crew that installed were Jairo Flores, J Serrano, Mauricio, Emidio, Gabriel (the foreman), C Llamas, Lalo, Ricardo, Roberto, and Luis Magaña. Good job, men! The put up plastic to protect furniture, and put down Ram-board and tarps to protect my floors. A very professional job on all fronts. Not cheap, not the cheapest, but it was a fair price for a.decent quality window + install. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever received. About 4 months ago, we had the company measure all of our windows multiple times and give us a quote for replacing all. After placing our order with them, we prepared everything including ordering new curtains, and clearing the house for the window installation. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, after 4 months of anticipation, they show up to install the windows with the wrong measurement for our main and biggest sliding door. Without any explanation or excuse, we were told that it was a factory mistake and we would have to wait until further notice for the new window. It has now been 2 weeks and we still have not heard anything back. Furthermore, without any disclosure in the contract, we were surprised with a horrible job on the window frames; they were unfinished and only primed. Turns out, they expect their customers to hire a whole additional set of painters to finish their unacceptable window frames. If you are planning to replace your windows, American Vision does not do a perfect job. read more

We decided to use this company despite the high-end prices just because of the referrals. What a mistake! The sales people-Amanda and Todd were super nice and friendly until we signed the contract. We placed our order and waited over 10 weeks for the windows/doors to get ready to be installed. Installment was scheduled for November 25th (day before Thanksgiving). It was promised to be a one day job. Our contract was to replace two same size windows, two same size sliding doors, and change (enlarge) one window (new construction). We requested the company to pull the permit for the job. When finally it was the installment date, the installers came and said that they didn't have the inspector scheduled on the same day to sign the permit. They suggested to finish the job for the same size windows/doors and partially install the enlarged window and finish the job the next business day. We didn't want to have partial installment for the changing-size window since it was a long holiday weekend (and Santa-Anna winds were in the forecast). They installed the same size windows/doors. The house was covered in dust and they left to come back to finish the last one. Worth mentioning that the bathroom window was not as expected (the salesman- Todd- had not clarified that the terminology in the contract is to only change the glass and the inside window and not the frame, so we had a mismatching frame after they changed the rest of the windows/doors). Anyhow, we scheduled second installment for December 2nd. The company came, partially installed the enlarged window, but when the inspector came, he showed that the permit was incorrect. In the permit it was only mentioned changing with the SAME SIZE windows/doors. The inspector was nice enough to let them finish the installment and pending the completion signature to when they correct the permit. After the job was done (and the house was covered in dust again) we checked the window and noticed that it was not aligned with the sliding door next to it (which was clearly mentioned in the contract that they would both be the same height). Also, the glass was defected, having dirty spots withing the double layer! We refused to sign the completion paperwork. The next day the installment manager- John- came to check the issues. He acknowledged the issues and promised to fix those. We scheduled the third installment on December 16th. I called the day before to make sure that the permit is corrected and the inspector is scheduled for the same day! NOT! so they postponed the installment. Since it was Christmas the following week we asked the company to postpone the job to January. Called them, emailed them, again emailed them, no respond! So we are still waiting for the company to come and fix the window, change the defected glass, complete the permit. All this time, we had to keep the 5x10 inch stickers on ALL the windows and doors, waiting for the final inspection. Super disappointed! and still waiting. BTW, I left this same review on the company's website which never got posted! read more

Sep 6, 2020. I cannot express how professional this company and their installation crew were with us! Martin, Jose P., and Emidio installed 5 windows (two large) and two large sliding doors for us. They were here at 8:30am and were totally complete by 2:15pm. Old windows and doors were out, new ones in, everything looks and works AMAZING! Our salesman was Armen Hovakimyan, cell 818 298 7006. Our neighbor used this company 5 years or so back and could not say enough about all aspects of them - superior frames, excellent one day install, double lifetime warranty on all the windows and doors, and windows are heat and UV resistant and are sound buffers that actually work! They use a different formula in their vinyl and reinforce their frame's physical structure so they can create very large double pane glass windows. Entire install crew is totally pro, kind, friendly, and answered questions. We honestly would have no clue why you would want to go elsewhere - these folks us a family like approach, they love what they do and you can tell. Use American Vision Windows in Simi Valley for your next project - call Armen - you won't regret it. Lead out time to make all the windows was 8 weeks. The unit we had the work done on had 1970s single pane glass in aluminum frames. Did I say that the new sliding doors are incredible? Having lived 30 years with crappy sliding screen doors and glass sliders that fell out of the frame, were loud and didn't latch, these new American Vision ones glide, block out UV and heat, lock and latch smoothly with a replaceable track avoiding the need for full re placement later.
