If only they worked on my car , as good as they worked this long exaggerated excuse. I wouldn't be given any Fake review nothing took hours everything took several days. Shop couldn't even diagnose a average lincoln. "We can get it to overheat. We need the weekend to test drive " Called days later ."We didn't have time this week" Call days later" We didn't even know you wanted us to work on your Car." WTF why would I have it there for Weeks. Work on your communications skills. Nobody wants there sitting for weeks with no work being done other shop found problem within a hour without even driving it. And was fixed in 24 hours. Plus my bottom cover was never put back on after first visit should have been a sign. read more

Carmen, Gloria, and Perry were very considerate and helpful when I had several mechanical problems with my car. They were always courteous, gave me frank and honest answers, and helped by giving me a ride to the rental car place when I needed to rent a car while my car was being worked on. The only reason I hesitate on giving 5 stars is because when my battery light suddenly came on as I was leaving, I called the mechanic to see if I should return as I had a long drive home and he said to ignore the light as it probably was just a false reading. It was not a false reading. My alternator had broken. I ended up broken down late at night in CT. So next time I will run all questions by Perry and not some rookie mechanic. The staff tried to make it up to me the next day, which is nice. read more

Service was terrible. was never told they don't accept parts from warranty company. Had to have my car towed to a much more reliable repair facility. when they received my vehicle I was told they left wires unattached from the partial repair they did. They tried to get extra money from by saying they made a repair, they never expected me to put them on the three way to confirm. I think they over charge and they're a little sketchy, so I recommend, Hyde Park Auto Service, I had to have my car towed to who did an excellent job on my vehicle and very honest about what you need. They should never accept a warranty and not honor it or they could tell the customer that they don't accept certain things about warranties, like we don't accept parts. I should know this before I send my car there and waste money and time. I didn't like the deception. read more

This has to be hands down the worst experience I ever had with a auto body shop and it's not even close. I am one of the most patient people and I'm very fair but these guys take the cake. I paid for a service that they did not complete and now every time I call they put me on hold, pick up the phone then hang up, left me on hold for over 20 minutes, tell me someone is going to call me back and it's been a month. I can't speak to anyone or get any help and it's not like I drive some dump truck, my car is in great shape I just like to keep up with maintenance. Why make me pay just to ignore me and not follow through with any of the job, it's a straight up SCAM! I have been calling back to back and no one will even get in the phone and when I have talked to people it's oh no worries someone else is taking care of it and when I follow up on my end I see that no one called or did anything . ***SCAM ALERT read more

Quoted me $1600 for a catalytic converter for my 2007 Honda. I brought it to two additional mechanics to get other quotes- one quoted $600 or less and one quoted $400. Rip off. Also charges $85 to hook it up to the diagnostic reader for 5 minutes. read more

This is a terrific family-run small shop that in my personal experience, has been thorough, fair, thoughtful and very competent at a broad range of repairs on three of our cars. Unlike many in the auto repair industry, they don't recommend work just to get the "upcharge" and took the time to explain the pros and cons of spending time and money on a diagnostic service. I rarely write reviews; but since all the excellent reviews sent me to this place, I feel like I have an obligation to write my honest review. My car is 5yrs old and I bought it used 3yrs ago at 53 thousand miles. I saw the rave reviews and I called to book an appointment. I had three main concerns which I relayed to the very courteous receptionist: My check engine light was on and off in the past couple months; my passenger front light was out (not just a bulb issue, I tried changing it at my last oil change); and my brakes needed replacing (squeaking). I dropped my car off the night before and left the keys in the drop box (very convenient). I was contacted by the mechanic at work the next day. 1) My check engine light was because my thermostat was broken and if left unfixed it could eventually damage the engine if the car overheated... the fix: replace the thermostat and do a coolant flush. 2) My headlight issue had to do with wiring that needed to be replaced... the fix: replace the wiring. 3) My brakes needed replacing. Total just under $1200. Ok. I picked up my car that evening and 2 Days later took it for inspection; which I failed because the front headlight was out. ???? I called them immediately and scheduled for yet another drop off, explaining that the "fixed" headlight was not fixed and the check engine light was back on. I missed the call from the receptionist but got a voicemail that my car was all set for pick up. There was no mention of any charges or the issues. My headlight was fixed and I passed my inspection the second time around. The check engine light was back on again. My car had started making a big truck engine noise, especially when it changed gears. I didn't trust this place for a third go around. I took it to a mechanic I had previously used. Long story shorter... my transmission was shot and it would cost over $2600 to replace it with a used one. $4000 on car repairs in less than two weeks would make anyone irate. I was beyond ; I'm not accusing them of wrecking my transmission but you couldn't tell me that there was a larger problem with my car?!? How could you miss that?!? read more

The mechanic showed me my brakes and explained my options. The service was great and the price was good too. The woman at the desk was friendly. And I was in and out in a hour. I work across the street, an employer that has 1100 workers and a contract for their vehicle fleet to be serviced by american brake. I contacted them to get my lug nuts tightened and was told that it would cost me $20. to do something that takes 25 seconds. This is poor business people. I went to Davis Tires down the road and was able to get it done for free... and I tipped the guy $15. I am now scheduled to have my evap system worked on by Davis. read more
