I, who am dumb in all things cars and tires (I just let my husband handle it), had the unfortunate luck to get a flat tire in the area. I didn't even call in advance if they had my tire size. AAA towed me here. I don't live in the area so I was eager to get home. John noted that he didn't have any of the tires in my size at the store. Before full panic could set in, he made a call and was able to locate a tire somewhere nearby. He actually went to go pick it up! The level of service and kindness is above and beyond. These guys rock !! My corvette went to two other shops to be aligned and the job wasn't done right one of the shops was a Chevrolet dealer that has a corvette specialist that did it wrong twice. First the good: I had an impromptu problem and Bridge St T&A were very accomodating, took my car the next day. I went to them because of the AAA affiliation and the high reviews. While I was at it, I got an oil change and tire rotation. All was done very quickly, and pricing seemed very reasonable based on my (limited) experience in the area. The reception wasn't too friendly but still professional. Now the bad: What I didn't know going in was that one of my tires was cracked in one of the grooves and needed changing (if only for the car to pass the state inspection). But the mechanic apparently didn't notice(?), and so rotated tires even as they needed to be changed. Maybe I should be happy they did what I asked with no appointment, quickly, without questions or upselling, but my hope is that a trusted mechanic would point out obvious needed repairs of this kind. Especially if it makes a requested service pointless, and/or jeopardizes passing the state inspection. Thankfully, tire rotation is an inexpensive service so only a small loss for me, I'm just glad I didn't ask for an alignment or something like that. At the end, another shop pointed out the cracks to me and got to change my tires (and charge me for it) so I guess both Bridge St T&A and I lost out that day. Too bad, hopefully just bad luck. read more

I've been here two times and now I'll be coming here for all my car issues. First experience was new tires which they installed and aligned my vehicle well. Pretty standard, but they didn't try to upsell me which made me come back. Next experience, I had a few noises in my car. I walked into the shop, and John hopped in the car with me to diagnose the problem and had my car fixed by the end of the day. No trying to upsell me on anything I didn't need. He could have easily convinced me the problem was much more expensive than it was. Just good, honest mechanics here. read more

Brought my flat tire in to be fixed after the dealership gave me the blowoff. Walked in and had a completely fixed, rebalanced tire put back on my car (with spare put back where it belongs) all in 20-30 min. Hope it never happens again but if it does I'm definitely coming back here! read more

I have been going here since 2003 and you simply can not beat their honesty and service. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The last time I brought my car in was for a transmission issue and John said he was unable to diagnose it. He did not charge but rather recommended me to a great transmission time. While he had my car he did a full inspection and found a small brake fluid leak. He topped it off and did not charge me. read more

John has been my mechanic since 2007. He's honest and fair in all his dealings, and I've never had an issue they couldn't fix. Worth the drive for me every time, and it's always money well spent. Here are the services I recently had done here on my 2008 Honda Accord: four tires ordered and replaced, full balancing, 4-wheel alignment, and front rotors and pads replaced. John, the owner, went out of his way to replace a bad rotor that I purchased on my own. He even said: "I just want my customers happy." How many mechanics do you know that can say that?? I can't thank Bride St Tire & Alignment (especially John) enough for his immediate help when my mom's muffler and exhaust pipe fell off suddenly in the street! She is from out of town and this was my first experience with this place...they quickly accessed the situation and within 2 hours they had re-welded it back in place. John explained that the muffler and pipe were in good condition but had simply loosened, so the charge was minimal! We truly appreciate his honesty! Though this was a stressful situation, on the plus side I now know where I'll be taking my car for any work and I highly recommend anyone who needs car work to contact these guys! read more

I used to think "honest auto mechanic" was an oxymoron but this place proved me wrong. This is a mechanic shop you can trust! My grandmother's passenger side window would not go up so she went to her local mechanic. The mechanic told her that she needed to buy a new window motor, which would cost $300 and he didn't have time to fit her in that day. My Grandmother went to Bridge Street Tire for a second opinion and, boy, she's glad she did! When she told the owner her problem, he immediately went out to check her car in the parking lot and figured out that the passenger window's lock was on. He unlocked it for my Grandmother and she was on her way within minutes of stopping by. He didn't even charge her a dime! I started taking my car to Bridge St. when I moved to Hingham in 2000. I trust John and his staff completely. Over the years I've gone in a number of times over whatever concern, and they will often take a look, do a quick adjustment and send me on my way without charging me a cent. When my catalytic converter went, John recommended I check with Subaru to see if it was under warranty. I pushed back - my car was 10 years old with over 100k miles on it, the warranty is long expired - but John insisted that for this part is was often different, and I should at least make a call. I did, and it was. THAT is a typical example of doing business with John Kingsbury. He does right by you. That is roughly a $1,500 repair, and he sent me away to have it done (for free) by a dealership. I moved from Hingham a while ago, and it's now pretty inconvenient to take my car down to Weymouth but I do, because they're worth it. read more

Bridge Street Tire made it easy to get new tires for my car. I had been using online price quotes from some of the chain stores, even ordered and went to an appointment to have them installed, only to find out the site had the wrong size for my car. I emailed Bridge Street, they suggested a better tire (higher rated) than what I was looking at, for a better price than I was originally going to get at the chain store. I dropped the car off before they opened, and picked it up after work. They did a great job and made it easy. read more
