I bought a pair of prescription glasses and lenses here last year and they made them completely wrong. My vision was blurry and they had to remake them. I wore them for a year and the lens got scratched even though I paid for scratch resistant lenses. I went to the Prosper location where I bought them and they refused to help me because my warranty was apparently one day past expiration. I truly don't believe that my lenses ever had scratch resistant coating on them. It's likely a scam that you pay extra for and doesn't really work. Customer service was not willing to help. Although you may pay slightly less for lenses at America's Best, the quality of their lenses is as poor as their customer service. Don't waste your money there. read more

Brought my 14 yo daughter to get her eyes checked for glasses and contacts and the exam went very well. The eye doctor and assistant were both super sweet and personable. I had a weird encounter when I went to just pick up the glasses for her. I walked in, was asked immediately how they could help me (which of course is awesome) and I told the girl behind the counter I was picking up glasses for my daughter, told her the name and stood there because I know it doesn't take long to get them. The girl (I didn't get her name) started walking really slowly away like she was scared or confused while staring at me? I couldn't tell. Then she came back towards me very slowly and said "can you please sit down while I grab them?" Maybe they need the counter space clear but there was plenty of room and it took her less than 10 seconds to find the glasses and hand them to me. Other than that they're awesome people. I'd just like to avoid that weird encounter again lol. I'll stand where I please as long as I'm not in the way and I wasn't. read more

As you can see, I never write reviews, but my experience from just a few minutes visit at this location was so rude and unprofessional, it was worth the time and trouble to tell others to go elsewhere. Went to visit this office this morning because I am out of contacts and placed an order for more online. As soon as I stepped into the store, the vibe from the girl that greeted me was already very unfriendly. I'd made a light joke with a smile about how windy it was today. Her reply was a very terse 'how may I help you'? I explained that I was out of contacts and had placed an order online for more, and in the meantime if they had a sample pair I could buy or have until my order arrived. Current prescription was in hand to verify I had one. Her reply? "No. We don't give samples unless you've made a purchase or have an eye exam here." I was a bit confused and asked her why, since my prescription is valid, of course, at any eye retailer. Nope. Can't help you. So as a doctor's office, it matters more that I haven't spent money with your office, than providing one sample lens so I can see clearly? Very rude and uncaring. I will never give my money to this franchise. There are much better, more family friendly and caring practices in Frisco/Prosper than this one. read more

Would not recommend at all. Could not figure out my insurance info and tried to overcharge me. Also, the doctor said my eyes had gotten better and that usually happens with age (I've always heard the opposite). Well I can't see with this new prescription.....so pretty sure my eyesight did not improve. Trying to get this corrected without having to pay for another office visit. First time here... I'd like to say the eye doctor here is phenomenal. She took the time to explain my results and reviewed in details what she saw in my eyes... for this doctor alone I would return, great relator to her patients and definitely made me feel at ease. But. What absolutely ruined the visit for me was ordering the frames and lenses. Holy crap... there are so many options and the salesperson instantly went for the most expensive ultra transitional hd lenses... making me feel that I would be getting really crappy glasses if I didn't get these lenses. Furthermore- I said I didn't want to pay for the anti glare on the lenses. Unbelievably, she started to argue with me and said... but you have it on your current lenses, why don't you want this? She then said well I'll just go with whatever you want and then said I'm not doing high pressure sales. Wtf? Are you kidding me? You're doing exactly that. I've been getting glasses quite a while and never have I had pressure applied like this... Also, be warned- they take a hella long time to get the glasses done. Two weeks.... you gotta be kidding me, that's unusual. Other thing that was really obnoxious was my current set of glasses were broken. They tried to fix them, then she suggested I super glue them back together... it just needs a screw and she unbelievably told me to super glue it. What makes it worse is it's the same frame model of ray bans they have on the designer wall.... for which they have no means to repair. They put and undersized screw in the frame and it fell apart literally 5 minutes after I walked out. I'm pretty sure I was dealing with the head manager at the store... I like the Nike frames they sold, but I'm going to consider this a lesson learned- i thought I was going to end up getting a deal here, but you really don't. Plan on spending between 400-500 if your going for designer lenses and pick up two pair. That's was with my insurance, which was a high end premium plan. This place is clearly sales goal oriented... it's a shame because they have a rockstar for a doctor, but come on now. I've traditionally gone to smaller optometrists and they seem to be more respectful of what you want to spend, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

2 stars because the doctor here was superb. Even my 14 y/o spoke several times that day of how she liked her and asked could we return. The rep that helped me out, Yvonne, during my visit was patient with my eye insurance confusion which annoys even me, so I thought she was great... at that time. I called my insurer today because there was so much going on during checkout, I was still a little confused as to whether I'd used all the allowables. They told me I hadn't used any credit toward lenses and to call AB-Prosper for a breakdown. I did, spoke with Gina, who basically read back what I COULD understand on the detailed receipt. The ONLY question I had was to confirm that I had a contact lens allowable left and that what I paid out of pocket for my glasses at my visit didn't conflict with that. Sounds simple.. even to me. Gina tells me a manager has to help her figure it out and SHE would call me back.. cool. Yvonne (the lady that helped me checkout) calls back, in what I feel- and I don't offend easily as I can be pretty cut and drive myself- talking to me VERY differently, being very curt, speaking quickly as if her blood pressure was up, advising me on what I asked for at the visit. ("You said you wanted..... blahblahblah") I finished her sentences as I'm not an idiot, I'd recalled what I said. I'm huge on respect and being professional. I'm not sure why she felt the need to be passive aggressive and luckily, for her, she caught me on a good day. Idk if Gina relayed info differently to her, nor do I care. My entire family lives north of Frisco and wear glasses; I recommended this place as a first time customer to them as we approach a new year to use insurance.. that's now a no-go. I could've gone anywhere, I'm far too easy to please, plus this place is out of the way, I just wanted to see if they lived up to the catchy ads. Not to mention my daughter's glasses have been ready for almost a week but no call for mine yet.. do they go different places.... or?? I'd love to make one trip and pick up both......... Great doctor, customer service needs maintenance and I'm done with the whole chain so a manager doesn't even have to comment back.. (saving you time! :) happy holidays)! read more

Dr. Teed was great and conversational! I would not recommend purchasing eye wear from there. Incompetent and unprofessional staff- I received the wrong prescription and scratched frames. Nothing to compensate for the inconvenience and the risk of walking around for 3 days with incorrect lenses. read more

So glad I went there! After huge/expensive estimates at a few other optical retailers, I decided to give AB a try. I walked in and was immediately greeted and helped. The service was impeccable and tailored to my individual needs. Even though my exam and prescription were given at another eye doctor, the America's Best staff treated me very well as if I had been their client all along. The optician provided good care and gave so much detailed info to help me choose what was best for me. I got three pairs of glasses for much less than one pair anywhere else. The selections were broad and the prices were very fair. I think I made out quite well. Thanks America's Best! I definitely will be back. read more

I usually go to the store in Denton and have received great service. This was my first trip to the store in Prosper and it was hell from the moment I walked in. The associate at the front has no customer service skills, the doctor gave me a prescription she wanted and failed to ask me what was important to me. She forced upon me thier brand of contacts several times after I expressed I wanted to stay with Accuvue. (Thier brand felt like dry biscuits in my eyes). I called and told them I had a problem with my prescription and was told "oh it will get better in its own in a few days" which it did not. So back to the store where the other doctor still would not listen that it is IMPORTANT I see up close and I did not want a prescription that I'd have to use readers when that is not what I needed before. After several try's, she finally got it right. However when it came to the exchange, they did not know how to do it and I was asked if I could wait 30 minutes until a manager showed up. I received a phone call later with the status that I'd have to wait 2 weeks for thier system to reflect the refund. To top it all off on my horrible experience, they lost/stole my debit card. read more

Dr. Galen is phenomenal. She made my experience completely pleasant and enjoyable. She is knowledgeable, friendly, patient and humorous. She taught me so much about my eyes during my brief appointment. I'd go back just for her. Danaisha, the associate who checked me in/out, was also kind and helpful. I did not have an exam, I brought in a prescription from my own eye Dr. Like most eyeglass stores, they have some complicated pricing formulas with different lenses and coating options, but Danisha walked me through all my choices until I got exactly what I wanted.
