Online this place seems promising, I even scored a good deal on a Queen Bedroom for my 5 night stay by placing a reservation online weeks in advance, seeing as this is my 1st review on yelp and its only 1 star, I clearly did not have a good stay. Upon arriving, the front desk area appeared unsanitary, cluttered, and not very appealing - which is whatever, it's not my room right? Even though this was during the increasing cases of corona-virus in Western U.S.A, it didn't bother me too much since the area I placed my hands appeared to be wiped (watermarks). The lady working the desk spoke broken English and was quiet, they asked for my ID, a debit card to put on file, and a $100 deposit in case of any damages, I handed her all 3 - she immediately handed me my PayPal debit card back, without taking a moment look on the back, by sliding it back to me followed by saying, "this doesn't have a name or any information on it, I need a real card", I immediately correct her by pointing out my name on the front, and flipping over the card to reveal what she took no care in looking for (I understand PayPal Business cards are different, but clearly looks like a debit card & had my name printed on the front) - she took a moment to realize it wasn't fake, looked at me and told me I was not allowed to have any friends/visitors over, I was confused by what she said & thought I heard wrong so I replied, "what do you mean I cant have any friends over? I cant bring friends inside?" which she replied back, "They can stay for 5 minutes then they need to leave". In the many places I've stayed, this was the first I've been told I was not allowed visitors, I have never heard of such a policy (extended periods of time like overnight Is different, she literally said only 5 minutes which is ridiculous), they not only have my debit card on file, but also charge an extra $100 for the stay as a deposit in case of damages. Having said that, there should be no reason I'm not allowed to have a friend hang out with me during the day, if measures are already taken to insure the room through an extra deposit and keeping my card on file. The lady working the front desk is very unprofessional, and shouldn't be representing RLH or ABVI; as for the room, the WIFI is terrible and constantly disconnects, the lamp is extremely ugly doesn't go with the room at all and is missing a plugin, one of the walls looks like someone body slammed it & they did a piss poor job of fixing it up, it is very warped/cracked, the Heater/AC is loud, there is no coffee machine in the room so don't expect getting any, the floors and walls have not been cleaned or sanitized showing clumps of spider webs in the corners, the mirror above the desk hadn't been cleaned & has finger smears/possible popped pimple residue; the Queen Room has the smallest cheapest microwave i've seen, it only fits personal frozen meals so you wont get a family dish in it, making meals limited and it hadn't been cleaned prior to my stay, so parts of the inside appear to have crusty food stuck on the walls, possibly even mold - I didn't want to smell it or try to clean it myself, I simply will just not use the microwave. As for the bathroom, over a dozen ants were crawling around the tub, I didn't even use the shower and water seemed to have pooled out of the drain over night on my first day, and the walls are a hideous pinkish-peach. The TV is cheap, the decor is super outdated, it needs new curtains and bed sheets, there's old piles of dog poop scattered around the front walkway towards my room door, though a positive note being there is plenty of storage space; after experiencing the low-par customer service, overall lack of cleanliness, and not-so-worth-it amenities, I will not come back here again - You will have a way better experience by spending a little extra money on a completely different place to stay, or by spending even less money at one of the local house hostels if you're on a budget. I'm glad I got a deal on the room, I definitely wouldn't have been happy paying full price, I got it for $48 per night (cheapest around this week) but have stayed in cheaper & more comfortable than this place, so unless they update the decor and terminate the lady working the front desk and replace her with someone who actually aims for customer satisfaction & cleanliness, I wouldn't spend more than $40 a night to stay in this dump & suggest you all stay away from this inn, most of the high star reviews are years old & are likely made by those who know an employee/employer. If the management ran this place correctly & cared about its customers, they'd steadily be getting 4-5 star reviews, an occasional 3 and maybe one or two 1 star review(s) by someone who shouldn't be leaving reviews to begin with. Do yourselves a favor and read the 1 star reviews, we didn't write long explanations for nothing - If it weren't for a lot of areas for concern, I initially would give this a 3 star review. read more

do not stay here, horrible!!!!!!!!! my husband and i paid for an entire week. you can't sit outside for some fresh air at night because the owner will come over and say "you look trashy, i lost a customer because of you." to top the cake with a cherry my wedding rings were stolen by housekeeping. (i hid them in the drawer before i left for work.) when my husband kindly asked the owner to call the person who cleaned our room, he flat out said no so we filed a police report. (someone who stayed here before had their phone stolen, you'll read in the previous reviews.) the cop came over and we put in the report but the owner called another cop and had us escorted. poor customer service, the owner is an asshole. do not stay here, ever!!!! spend your money elsewhere. oh and if you do decide to stay make sure you bring a safe and lock your things up because personal items will be stolen!!!!!! read more

Forking Awful! Purchased room on Petfriendly.com. Got to the hotel and got an Extra $15 Pet fee, on top of my PAID reservation that had no mention of any extra fees on a PET BOOKING WEBSITE?? 'Fake wood' linoleum floors were cold in Jan. Threadbare towels could give you rope burn drying off. Paint above tub/shower stall appeared to be applied over black mold. The best breakfast in town was raisin bran or fruit loops, god-awful orange juice, and dishwater coffee. The hooker walking the street out front was just the icing on the ghetto cake. read more

Horrible service! We paid for the room with a debit card when we got there the man told us we couldn't stay there because we didn't have a credit card. Finally after some talking he let us give a cash deposit. He then gave us a room right on the street. The internet did not work at all. Breakfast is supposed to be served every morning i guess not on weekends. Oh and they give you a guide for HBO but it is nowhere to be found on the TV. The room had a kitchen in it but if you want to use it, its $10 a night. Never staying there again! read more

Okay for 1 night if you're passing through. Easy check in and out and close parking to your room. Cheap and affordable. Room was kind of smelly when we first entered but after a while it dies down. Breakfast was included but there was barely any breakfast served. Not much selection and the eating area is super tiny. Seats about 4 people. 2 people per table. Stop here if you're looking for something cheap and for 1 night. read more

We stayed here to visit our son and attend a football game at the U of O. This motel is affordable and clean. The rooms have been updated - new paint and new flooring. They come with a kitchen and fridge. There was no extra bedding - we could have used an extra pillow and blanket. There was no coffee maker or dishes for the kitchen. This place is a gem. I arrived into Eugene at 1 am looking for an affordable place to rest my head. Which I have done in several city's and stayed in tons a cheap hotels. Rarely do I take the time to write a review unless my experience was very good. The clerk behind the counter was a nice polite man. Most Of the time when looking for a room at 1 am your waking the clerk up and they are often annoyed and show it in their service. If you can't handle the negatives of a job don't work the dam night shift at a hotel! This guy was not like that. :) allowed me to see the room before I agreed to it. (As I said I come into town often late looking for room and I'm not having another Travel Motel in SLC, UT experience! Eww never again...) This Americas best value inn must have been recently renovated because The room looked to be recently redone. Hard wood floors. TV remote worked!!! RARE. Very clean, no bugs nothing like that. Good parking close to fast food. perfect for travelers stopping trough. 55$ total is About average cheap hotel/motel price and rarely do I feel like I got a bargain. But this place is Nice. This is the first review I have ever written for Yelp. People should be warned. I reserved a smoking room. I arrived and was told that there were no smoking rooms. This is the very least of it. It was 9:30 on a Thursday night. The parking lot was full and there were numerous men smoking outside the rooms. I proceeded to the check in and observed the clerk renting a room BY THE HOUR. There were men waiting in the "lobby" waiting for their "rooms" to be ready. My sister asked two of the men standing outside the rooms if they were pimps. They said they were. It was frightening. I don't know what the rooms are like, but that night they were full of prostitutes and their customers. I was nervous and did not want to stay there, especially if my sister had to stand outside and smoke. read more

I actually really liked this place. Yeah the parking was a little tight but I never had issues pulling in and I had a spot right in front of our door which was a nice bonus. The room was actually pretty clean for the price I was pleasantly surprised. the only down fall is we reserved a queen room and didn't realize till we crawled in to bed that it must have been a full. Not the worst thing in the world. Would stay again but will have to check the bed to make sure its big enough. read more

I came to eugene and stayed here for 5 days while searching for a home. The room was very clean, and staff was friendly. The rooms had mini fridges in them, which for the price, was awesome. The free breakfast had cerial, a waffle press and toast. All in all, this place was cleaner, beds were softer, than any motel 6 Ive ever been to. If you want a reasonable costing room, thats clean and gives free wifi, this is the place. If i ever need to stay at a motel in this area again, I would come back here. read more

It looks ok from the outside but the rooms are horrible! The tv in my room was a sylvania BOX tv pre-HDMI era! The beds might as well be boards. The pillows depress into zero support. I was heckled and threatened by the local loiterers outside my room. The bathroom shower tub leaked with horrible shower heads and shower rods about to fall out at any time. I had to switch rooms because the smell of stale smoke was caked into everything in the room! My CLEAN clothes held the scent for a day after hours of exposure to the room. The desk in the room had"I hot high as f@ck in this room. How about you?" Not recommended at ALL. Read other reviews! I didn't check my bed for bed bugs but wouldn't be suprised. read more

I have stayed here 4 times in the past 9 months. I have found it to be clean, comfortable, and accessible to everything in Eugene. The owners are very nice and friendly, and the rates are competitive and often very low. I will continue to stay there when I drop my son off in college or visit. read more

Basic basic hotel room , but OK for the price. What was not ok ,leaving at 0830 and returning at 8pm and our room wasn't cleaned. Young man at the desk said the maid knocked on the door, room was locked , and assumed we were still asleep.(um how bogus is that , and how long would you leave a sleeping/dead body in a room? Bigger problem was there was no apology or customer service recovery attempts. Hubby had brought some birthday earrings for me on the trip. Sat in a jewelry box on the desk. So gross. The room was smelly and claustrophobic. Low ceilings and a dim light didn't help. The bed was so hard my hips hurt from sleeping on my side for 3 days after I left. The window is right by the parking lot so unless you want everyone seeing into your room that has to stay closed. The worst part was that in the morning my son took a shower... when I got back later that night the housekeeper had been there and made the bed, but when I went to shower all she had done was pull the curtain closed. I don't even want to rate this place. I went to visit Eugene for a football game. Sadly reserved a room at this place without checking Yelp. The room was disgusting. I instantly scanned the room when I receive key. There was hair & water still in the shower. Q-tip on the floor & in toilet in bathroom. The complimentary shampoo was tossed across the table in "kitchen" area. Half cabinet doors didn't even open. The bed?! I wouldn't even touch it. Found a couple hairs in the sheets. Things were on the wall, resembling children's boogers, which were also on the back of the curtains above the crumb filled "heater" under the window.. All I can say is I was in & out of that room faster than I could say "Go Ducks!" I went back to front desk to see if I could get any of my $ back & the manager was extremely rude & unhelpful. stayed here two nights in Sept 2012, hadn't read the other reviews, and must say i'm totally surprised by what i'm reading. my stay was pleasant, the room was clean (no mold, no bugs) the management was polite and helpful. the hotel was within walking distance to downtown, and would stay here again. read more

Don't try to check in at night. I arrived at 1am after making a reservation on Expedia and the manager would not come to the door. He finally came to the door after I rang and rang and had Expedia call him. Then told me that I booked the wrong night and would not let me into the hotel lobby so I could wait for a taxi. Ultimately I was stranded downtown Eugene waiting on a taxi at 1am. When I asked for a refund, the manager and Expedia both denied it. read more

Very friendly staff. Family owned. I wasn't aware check in time was 2 pm, so I showed up around 11 am on a Saturday. They still checked to see if they had an open room. They did and let me check in early. I appreciated that. Room was clean. Clean hard wood floors instead of dirty carpets. Had a full working kitchen, even an oven, which was cool. If no stars was an option that is what I would have picked. This hotel should be closed down. First we needed a hotel that takes pets so we were limited in choices. We booked through hotels.com and the rating were not that bad plus AAA had a diamond star rating so we figured why not. Will never make that mistake again. When we arrived and checked in the guy working the desk said and I quote " so you have kids and a dog" apparently that means put them in a room that smells like a rotting body is under the bed and the floor has dog (at least I hope so) pee stains on it. Then when they come back to the office to say that wont work tell them that the last room had a kitchen and we won't charge you extra for it. Oh, thanks if thats what you call a kitchen, faucet didn't work and the cabinets were broken and busted off and the oven burners were lined with tin foil (not sure what they were hiding). What a joke the second room had mold on the walls above the shower, stains on the sheets, holes in them, and the toilet looked like something out of a horror movie. When we first walked in my 5year old daughter started crying and said the place was scary. My husband walked toward the bathroom to check it out and got a nose ring (at least that what it looked like) stuck in the bottom of his shoe. How does something like that not get vacuumed up? When we went to the office to demand a refund we got no where it wasn't till I called hotels.com and told them what was going on and we threatened to call the police to report the condition of the hotel that they refund our money for our 3 night stay. We drove down the street and stayed at another hotel (more expensive) but safer and cleaner. Our trips was saved and we are now having a great time. read more

i am staying here as i type and i can't say enough about the service i've received over the last two days. obviously this is not a luxury hotel, but if you want great treatment that rivals any luxury hotel, this is an awesome choice. clean rooms, and we lucked into a very spacious suite with a full kitchen. i'm looking forward to the next several days (i'll be here for a total of nine days for the olympic trials in track and field), and whenever i come to eugene this will be my motel of choice. read more
