I am such an easy mark with food. Someone posted about chicken wings and, of course, I had to get some too. It is too cold to run hither and yond, like my Grandma use to say, so I picked a spot nearby. Okay America's Best Wings, let's see if you really have them. Buffalo wings are my absolute favorite variety of wing flavor. I like them a little spicy but not overpoweringly so. However, I decided to take a walk on the wild side and try something different. I placed my order for 10 whole wings at 8:07 and was told it would take about 15 mins to complete. I waited in my car to allow the cook to cook. Now I know the internal temperature for chicken is 165 degrees to reach safe temperature to let you know it's cooked. I waited until about 25 mins before I went back in the store. They told me it wasn't ready. So I walked back out for about a few more mins watching thinking each to-go black box belonged to me. NOPE! At 8:42 PM my food finally surfaced after them watching me check my receipt time. I patiently waited and actually got to the point where I was going to ask for a refund. Ameica's Best fell short of giving its best tonight. Usually my go-to place for chicken tenders, I am very disappointed by the dried out pieces of breaded chicken that arrived in my DoorDash delivery this evening. Worse yet, when I contacted the restaurant to complain, I received a less than customer caring response of, "Oh, so what do you want?" Their chicken is good when properly prepared. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I placed a large order from the Waldorf location and when I got home I realized they messed up a large part of the order. I immediately called them to address the problem and the store clerk had the nastiest of attitudes toward me. I was pleasant with my description of the problem but the clerk continued to have a nasty attitude. I explained to the clerk that I just wanted the food remade correctly and the clerk just said we will refund your money but I WILL NOT remake it. Customer service is HORRID. I tried explaining the situation. Grubhub is NOT the best method for ordering food, but in a pinch it can be extremely useful. Unfortunately occasionally when you select a restaurant to order from it will switch from Delivery to Carry Out without you noticing until you've already made the order. "Your delivery should be arriving" switched to "Your food should be ready for pickup". So I called America's Best Wings and from the moment the guy picked up the phone he was rude as hell. He sounded like it was a problem for him to even answer phone calls. I explained the situation, but he kept rudely interrupting me and then told me "you know you have to select Delivery" and I explained what happened AGAIN and then he said "So you wait until the food is ready to try to cancel the order". No genius, if I would have known about this wonderful "feature" from GrubHub which switches pages from Delivery Only to Carry Out places, I would have known to triple and quadruple check my order before paying for something I can't possibly pick up! Ordered from DoorDash, fries were missing. Okay, not a huge deal. But then, then I looked at the steak and cheese (the one for my kiddos, ugh) and noooooo the meat was burned, SO burned. DoorDash offered a refund, which is great. Figured I'd call to let the restaurant know they should maybe check in on the kitchen and I'm sure it was a waste of time. Great wings and awesome service. I've enjoyed other ABW locations so I was excited when I saw one opened nearby. I called in an order at 1pm for 50 wings to be ready by 6pm. The order was an assortment of lemon pepper honey, 24k, jerk, and mild wings. They gave me a reminder call at 5:30 and the wings were ready shortly after I arrived at 6pm. They had the order accurate and most importantly the food tasted great. Other people who had the wings also said they were great. These wings are on the crispier side yet pack a lot of flavor. I deducted a star because wings have literally been the only thing I've ordered. Therefore I can't attest to the quality of anything else on the menu. IMO the best wings in town.
