I have been dealing with this company in various locations and even in different states. Some locations are listed as Discount Tires. Regardless, it is an awesome company, and, once they finished their huge remodeling project, this Redding location is the best place to go. Office staff is great. I have a Porsche Cayenne that requires a special size of tires, and, I usually trade them for new tires at around 50% tread, as I know that after that, they are no longer safe in my opinion. They have always worked with the tire mfr to get me a discount price on the new tires. I am a social worker for the Department of Veterans Affairs. I work with homeless veterans to help get them safely and permanently housed. Yesterday I received a call from one of my homeless veterans that he had a flat tire and was unable to get it fixed. I helped him take the tire off his truck and we brought in. Raymond helped us, he was very helpful and kind. He probably saw my VA ID badge. As it turned out the flat tire was too worn to be repaired. Raymond was able to find a used tire that had very little wear. He GAVE the tire to the veteran and even allowed him to return after it was mounted to make sure it was mounted on the rear of the truck so it would be safe. The veteran was very grateful as he was very worried about how he was going to pay for a new tire. I love businesses that care for our veterans! read more

After waiting an hour-my car untouched-I asked again and was told they were pretty busy and there were two more cars ahead of me. I asked for my keys and left. Shingeltown Resident who has been going to this shop for over 25 years. Sadly the men working at American Tire store have lost there moralistic values over the last two decades. They will gouge you on prices if they catch a hint that your in a bind or stuck in a bad spot. We left shingletown to head to the coast, blew two tires right inside Redding, thankfully we where close to our "go to" tire store that has always treated us fairly. 30 minutes before closing time the manager quoted us 430$ for two trailer tires......both me and my father raised our eyebrows and asked "in what fucking currency?" I immediately called Chico Tire Company, Point S, Les Schwab, Wallmart, Big- 0, Nor Cal tire, Tire cobbler, Tire Tree and every single one of them quoted us for 190 or 200 dollars to mount and balance 4 brand new tires... Not two... but fucking four..... The manager knew we where in a pinch, and he charged us 430 dollars for JUST THE TIRES. He was just smiling and laughing saying "this is what it will cost us!" While the manager turned around I took a look at his PC screen, the screen said it was only 120$ for two tires..... This greedy son of a bitch was going to pocket 310$ just because he knew we where in a bind.... You just lost about 35 customers, all of my family and friends have been going to this shop for YEARS due to my constant advocacy. Sadly I can no longer urge anyone to go there, and now I must steer good hearted people away from this place. read more

We are really grateful for the hardworking guys at this America's Tire shop. We are on a road trip back from Oregon to Southern California and we had a tire blowout on the 5 on Lake Shasta yesterday. CHP were more helpful than 4 hours of frustration with AAA! Thank you to James and the guys staying after 6pm closing just so we could leave our towed car overnight! They ordered our tires & FedExed them overnight. When we lyfted over to the shop with all our luggage, we saw all the guys running, not walking, to get things done. I can see why they are busy. I have a 2006 Mazda Miata. My front left tire went flat in my driveway at home. After removing my tire, I found a small hole caused by a screw. I brought my wheel into America's Tire with a big frown, and a bad attitude. I left to run some errands, got a call 30 minutes later. They said it could not be patched. I said just leave my tire and wheel on the curb, I'll be by to get it. I was pissed! When I arrived to get my flat tire, they had replaced it! I had a brand new tire on my rim. I went inside and they said they could see I was upset, and a valued customer, they replaced my tire FREE OF CHARGE. They turned my frown upside down! Bought my tired from this place and got insurance included. Sure enough I ripped one of the tires shortly after the purchase. They changed my tire with a brand new one and I had to pay only $21 to renew my insurance. Wow. I couldn't be happier with my choice. The service is great btw. I spoke with Nate (the asst manager) and he was so helpful despite the fact they were crazy busy at that time. He was apologetic every time someone interrupted our conversation. I interacted with the manager of the shop and he was very nice and professional just like Nate. Honestly an outstanding service. They are an example of how people should treat their customers. I've been very pleased with America's Tire. I purchased tires at a reasonable cost and they were discounted because the previous tires didn't meet their warranty mileage. I keep getting emails on occasion reminding me to have the inflation checked and the tires rotated (which I do). Tire inflation usually takes 5 minutes (10 if they are really busy) and the rotation takes less than 45 minutes (with an appointment). Each time I go in to have these things done, they measure the tread depth and advise me how the tires are doing. I'm happy with them. read more

Very disappointed! I ordered my 4 tires a week and a half in advance to make certain they were here. Got a call and they told me the tires were there and ready to go, made an appointment and thought everything was good to go. Dropped off the vehicle on appointment day and got a call about an hour later and they told me they only had 2 tires. Glad they waited for me to leave the car there with no way to get it to another tire shop. Needless to say I will find another tire shop for future tire needs. read more

They gave us a used loaner tire, called the manager at our local store in Rocklin who ordered the tire we needed. All at no charge. We called your location and spoke with Matt on our way from Weaverville to Redding. Matt found our tires in stock and had put our name on the waiting list, unbeknownst to us. When we arrived we checked in and started completing the paperwork, while doing that, someone from your shop came in asking about us to see if we had arrived yet. My tire had been going flat for about a day and a half, so I stopped into America's Tire expecting them to not be slammed busy on a Tuesday afternoon- I was wrong. The line was long, and the wait was going to be longer. What I thought was just going to be a patched tire from a nail, actually turned into my tire needing to be replaced. I explained that as a new mom, with Christmas in just a few weeks- I couldn't afford much. The team of men in there were able to find me an affordable deal, so that I would have my car to safely transport my family in. My car wasn't finished until right around 8 pm, but all the guys were nothing but friendly, even though I made them all stay late with my car. I have always loved going there, I never feel talked down to and they are always willing to work with you to find the best deal! read more

Currently my daughter is on her way to San Diego at 7pm on a Saturday and one of the tires is losing air. America's tire is not open on Sundays. I read the reviews and decided to go with them. Maybe I should have read the non-recommended reviews. I made an appointment online and there were many openings. This was fast and convenient. I go there and tell them I have an appointment and do all the preliminary stuff. They get me to agree to buy hankook tires because they are great tires and have a 40000 (I think it maybe more) warranty blah blah blah. The price was cheap I will give them that. Then told me to leave the car and go since I do not have a ride because I thought this was going to be fast I go walking to the little shopping center. Raleys was still there. I browse Raleys, like aisle by aisle. Look at the different cereals, the bulk products, their awesome deli counter (don't bother it's closed now). Then I go next door to the cookie and froyo place. I get some froyo. I eat it. I get some cookies.... You get the idea...(btw the froyo place had awesome cookies...do check that out) I go back to the tire place and my car is still parked exactly where I left it! So annoying and so much for having an appointment! Fine, I sit there for another half hour and finally they are done. The guy at the payment counter tells me that he assumes I won't be buying their extra insurance because he just knows the type of people that do not buy that insurance. Um mmmmkay... I was kind of interested but I guess he is right..... And thank my lucky stars I did not buy it. So I leave. I like the tires. They feel good. Nice and soft...then it's time for the first free rotation they do. Not a problem everything is honky dory. Up to this point everything is still 3-4 star quality. They could be a little faster and maybe stick to scheduled appointment times (oh I forgot to mention that this time I call the company and they tell me not to make online appointments because the system overbooks...it's better to call them.) I did and make an appointment and still have to wait for service...whatever they rotated the tires... So about 10,000 miles in I start to notice really bad wear on the front tires. I go in to have them rotated and they tell me the tires are too worn. WHAT... After 10,000 miles... Not even a quarter of the warranty. They tell me since its uneven wear I'll have to pay for the tires myself but they'll be nice enough to give me 25 dollars off as a courtesy. Wtf it has not even really been that long and I already need a whole new set of tires. I try to reason with them... They tell me it's a problem with my car or something....I try to call hankook who calls them and they tell me the same thing. wTF nothing?! Not half off...not a free tire ...zip nada. I am stuck paying for a whole new set of wheels wayyyyyy before I'm due for the next one. This is when I'm glad I didn't buy the extra insurance because they would have just told me its my cars problem and they wouldn't honor it. Nope not from them. I do need my tires replaced So this time I go to a little mom and pop shop in Redding (NorCal tire). They will at least stand behind the tires they sell, and they care about my business and about losing it. They also care about their business and want to do good by their clients. The tires and the labor were less expensive here. Won't be going back to Americas Tire ever! read more

I am writing this post for my mom, whom I was with. We went there today with an appointment @ 1130 to get new tires put on. We got there 5 minutes early. They said it would be like an hour to an hour and 15 min. Totally fine. We were meeting some family at the restaurant next door for lunch. So @ 1245, we went back over to pick up the car, they hadn't even started. What was the point of them making us an appointment. Seriously. My mom got an apology from the manager, nice but that doesn't make up for anything. So at 105, an hour and 35 minutes later (20 min after the maximum time we were told when they would be done) they had finally STARTED. That is fricking ridiculous. If you make an appointment for somebody and tell them something will be DONE by a certain time, then have it done, not just start on it. Normally we have a good experience, but today was definately not that. read more

This morning I was looking to get new tires for my Toyota Tacoma. I went to a different tire place up the street and none of the employees were wearing masks, and the customer service was less than ideal. I decided to leave and go check out America's discount tire, I'm so glad I did. Everyone in the store was extremely friendly and helpful. Whoever manages this branch, please know whoever was working the morning of Saturday December 5th around 10:00 a.m. should be commended for excellent customer service and work quality. I purchased five tires which included a full size spare and politely asked the employees to be careful when removing the old spare as it's easy to scratch the paint on the tailgate of the Tacoma when you're lowering the spare down. They were very polite and actually went out of their way to modify a tool with a shop rag so when they used it it did not scratch my truck one bit. I saw this out of the corner of my eye and was really thankful for the thoughtful employees that were working this morning. And the gentleman who rang me up inside, kind of a taller guy, was very nice and respectful and easy to work with. Basically if you're in Redding looking for new tires don't waste your time anywhere else, just come here. read more

Paul was my service advisor and he made it easy and simple. Went in today due to our truck vibrating really bad. It was doing it for a week before I was able to her it in. Turns out my back left tire had a bad buldge and it was just a matter of a very short time before it blew! I have to go back and forth to paradise and cant imagine my tire blowing on the freeway. I'm going back to Les Schwab. I went in yesterday for a tire rotation. I did not make an appointment so they told me it would be an hour and a half. That's reasonable. They told me they were going to give me a call when it was time to come and pick it up. Nope. Two hours later, I called them and the aloof employee said "Yeah that's been done for a while." Frustrating. I go in to pick it up, and here's where I went wrong: Always verify that the work is done, that is partially my fault for not checking that they actually did what they said they would. I had them break off all four wheel locks since my key went missing, and I was traveling out of town. They said they were going to replace them with standard lug nuts. After finding myself in a snow storm 400+ miles away, I notice that all of my wheels are missing a nut. I called the manager to inform him of the mistake. His response: "Four out of five? You should be fine." That's this manager's quality standard. No apology, he just told me to visit another location and get it sorted out. The nears to me was over 100 miles away so I just went to an auto parts store. On top of all of this, my tire pressure indicator was lit up when I picked up my truck, so I guess they couldn't be bothered with checking my tire pressure either. I'm not mad, but there are plenty of other tire shops around (some of them offer alignment too, by the way). Why would I ever come back here? read more

I was instantly nervous due to my funds, America's tire fixed my flat which was a screw in my tire. This place is amazing! I had a tire shred on me on my way to work. Called them and told them I only had 100 dollars and nothing me. They told me to come down and they would see what they could do. I get my spare on and go there the next morning. Scott the manager and Paul helped me. Ended up needing two tires and they found 2 that would work. They didn't have two used tires so they gave me a new tire and a used tire for 100 dollars. Such amazing customer service.
