The staff was friendly. Breakfast was hot and delicious. Room was clean. Heated outdoor pool and one indoor. The lake view was AMAZING!

Stayed here in August...such a clean and nicely appointed hotel. There's an indoor and outdoor pool which our kids loved. Breakfast was included and plentiful. We stayed in the heron section. The sunrises off the balcony or patio facing the water are unreal. Definitely worth waking up for. The older gentleman that gives rides in the golf cart is a gem and should be treasured. The only downside was the lack of elevators in the heron section but we're able bodied so had no problem carrying our luggage down 1 flight of steps. Love this place and highly recommend.

We stayed one night in a double queen on ground floor in the Superior building. All the conveniences you like to see in a hotel room. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sitting chairs and table, work desk etc. Enough towels for more than 2 people and finally one with a sink outside the bathroom so two people can get ready at the same time! Decent view of the lake from your two chair balcony. Well maintained properly with very clean rooms. Easy check-in. For check out you can just call the front desk and leave your keys in the room. Great breakfast that is located in the main building and close to the Superior building. Close to many amenities including the ferry docks. Friendly staff. Competitive prices during prime season. The only negative is tight parking spaces and backing out if you have a bike rack or any other extension. I would highly recommend this property to get the best bang for your buck.

We had a corner room with a stunning view of Lake Huron - with Mackinac Island in the distance. There's a main office and 4 separate buildings that are well spread out; 2 of which have great views of the lake. There's a large swimming pool outdoors and one indoors, a firepit, a sizable amount of lake frontage with walkable beach (albeit rocky in places), and an up-to-date kid's playground for younger kids. Our room had 2 queen beds, a refrigerator, flat screen TV, and balcony with 2 chairs to watch the sunrise. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the only noise was from the gulls. They had a hearty breakfast in the morning, and had no problem feeding everyone during peak time. I've stayed here twice and would do it again in an instant.

Bed horribly uncomfortable, we had a 1980's hot tub in our room that we did not book we purposely chose a room without it. So gross. Seagulls all over in back which don't bother you but their feathers were all over. The grassy area in back could be so nice but you can tell they dont want to invest money in their property. We were also told the room was tiled but it had carpeting. You can hear people above you and on the sides of you. Hard pass on this place.

This was our first time ever staying at a Best Western and I have to say they made a great first impression. I'm an elite member of a rewards program for another hotel chain but they don't have any hotels in the Mackinaw/St. Ignace area so we ventured out and I'm glad we did. The hotel and grounds were extremely clean. Our check in experience actually began when I called to see if we could get an early check in and we could, which was fantastic and appreciated. We were in the Huron building with a balcony and a partial lake view. I loved that we were right on the water and only steps away from the beach. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. We did go down to the beach one night for a bonfire and s'mores which was a great perk that this hotel offers as weather allows. The thing I was most impressed with though was the staff. I literally feel like they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. For example, they had a shuttle that picked up guests for breakfast. Sid was the sitter friendly driver who made sure everyone got to breakfast without walking if they didn't want to. I understand they usually have a great hot breakfast and they will be starting it back up soon. Ron was the manager who was fantastic at check in. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

Seagull, Canadian geese, poop, feather filled ocean filled patio view.

You get what you pay for. A bath tub that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a yr, a sliding patio door that only locks with an aluminum pole with just lift written on it with permanent marker, and a patio full of seagulls, Canadian geese, feathers, and poop. I have no clue how anyone on here could rate this place with 4 or 5 stars. Pay the extra $30 for a real hotel. 2 stars for a tv, 2 beds, and somewhat decent location.

Was in the area for 1 night with my family. Room was very clean and a great view. Due to COVID breakfast was a bagged breakfast of muffin/banana/yogurt/bottle water. ( very Understandable) pools and hot tub was very nice. The grounds by the beach could use some fill dirt as it is not that great to look at as it looks like a flooded area and it would probably get rid of the geese problems. Only other issue is that people should not be able to smoke on or outside there Balconies or patios as I had to close my door due to people smoking and also someone smoking Marijuana ( yes it Legal) but come on don't need to do it around kids. Staff was very friendly

Great lobby, great view. BUT when we first entered the room, someone else's hair tie as well as some misc gross garbage was on the floor as soon as we walked it. One of the tv remotes was just missing And worst - the entire bed had SAND IN IT. By the time we realized it, it was too late, so I just slept in my clothes. We asked the next day if they could change the sheets and clean the room. They said yes. We got back and no one had done a thing at all...and we were out of bath towels and toilet paper and had to go ask for those, as well as ask them AGAIN about cleaning and sheets. They apologized and said they would mark it in bold. We had to sleep in the sandy sheets again. Finally we got back the last day and they had come to the room, but......THEY JUST MADE THE BED WITH THE SAME DIRTY SHEETS! For $100 I can understand. For $1500 I'm pretty angry. We never once got clean sheets. I'm not even positive they were changed from the last guest. oh, and there was chocolate pudding smears on the counter, and a huge giant bug in the shower that freaked my son out.

Honestly I didn't go in to my stay here with the highest expectations, but I was very impressed with the service at the hotel and restaurant as well as the cleanliness of our room. Lots of friendly smiling and welcoming staff. The bed was very comfortable and the beach is dynamic. Perfect view of Lake Huron, and very enjoyable day or night. We had the breakfast both mornings of our stay, and I can only give that 2 stars. It was ok. Felt like a typical "breakfast included" kind of deal. The staff was very kind and attentive, and the restaurant was very clean. The food was 2 stars. Just basic. Coffee was great and like I said I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. I will definitely consider staying here again because the views and beach were gorgeous, the clean rooms and friendly staff are so important, and you're a hop, skip and a jump from Shepherd's Ferry to Mackinac Island from the hotel.

"In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and…read morethey stand there" (Yes) What a pleasant surprise! The Holiday Inn Express at St. Ignace sure didn't feel like a Holiday Inn Express. First of all, it has a beach, a big grassy communal courtyard, and chairs where you can sit at the waterline and listen to the seagulls that chitter and chatter like crazy. The beach scenery is gorgeous, and the views of the bay and Mackinac Island are gorgeous. The beds are comfy, the HVC and Wi-Fi work great, and the shower may have been the best hotel shower I ever had. Super pressure and plenty of hot water. Oh, and we had a balcony with a great view of the beach and the courtyard. But the biggest surprise was the amazing breakfast variety and the stellar breakfast service by Sheila and Melissa. They ran around at full speed, cleaning, wiping, refilling and straightening non-stop. As for the breakfast foods, there was a bounty of egg white omelets, scrambled eggs, turkey and pork sausage links, biscuits and gravy, a pancake machine, Cereals, Yogurt, gooey Cinnamon buns, Oatmeal, breads, muffins, bagels, apples, oranges, bananas, and more. Our two-night stay cost us $540.50 after taxes. We could not have been happier with our stay here. Five stars all the way.
