This has got to be the absolute worst company on the face of the planet.. The level of ineptitude and just a genuine lack of care for the customer is out of this world. I signed up and paid to have propane delivered to my property on 03/17/2025, as of today 04/01/2025 it is yet to be delivered. I've called numerous times and the customer service reps seem to have a script with detailed excuses they read to their customers for each complaint. My tank is currently under 5% so I've been practically ordering take out since Saturday so as not to run out of propane in the event that we cook using the stove. Did i mention that I'm a new customer and i had to pay upfront for the propane to be delivered?? I'm still weighing my options, but this scam/fraud/grift cannot continue. read more

On Thursday February 20th, my propane gas was delivered to my residence after week of delay, i took picture of tank gage that shows over 19 equal to 190 gallon in my tank prior delivering propane, after driver installed propane my tank gauge was at 54%, the same time i was approaching driver to ask why he hasn't fill the 500 gallon that i paid for, i received an email stating 440 gallon was delivered, i approached the driver and ask, why he did not fill the 500 gallon that i paid for, he gave me 3 different response, one was that he needs to deliver more to other places. I told him that i need my 500 that i paid for, he was in hurry to leave and he did not even provide me with invoice which is by law must be provided to me at the time of delivery. After reviewing before and after gauge reading, it looks they only delivered me 350 gallon not 440 gallon per the email that i received from them. i called AmeriGas customer service today Saturday the February 22nd and i spoke to Vicky (Indian accent) which he was the rudest person i ever deal with, he stated that my tank was filled up to 85% and that is the reason 440 gallon was installed and rest was credited back to my account because they only can fill up 85%, i advised Vicky that is not true, my gage shows 54=540 gallon and based on original gage reading to final they only delivered 350 gallons, he (Vicky) first said my gage is faulty then i advised him that is false statement because i have pictures of before and after, also my entire exterior of my house has surveillance which recorded all conversation and camera showing gauges, then he ask me to submit picture showing my current reading which i emailed. I logged in my account and my account shows they updated my tank current volume at 80%, this is fraud and will be treated as fraud, AmeriGas has no ethics and after reading articles about propane companies, they have stolen billions from customers stating they delivered curtain amount but actually they delivered 100 plus less gallons for 1000's of customers. This is unethical practice and robbery in fullest. I will proceed to fill a complaint with consumer services and hopefully it will be lawsuits against them. read more

I guess I was lucky. They were over two weeks late in delivery and I was down to less than 5%. All of my phone calls to them are routed to an overseas call center. There is NO local number. I'm 79 years old and was terrified of running out of gas. They used to be a responsible company when they had local offices you could contact, but no more. I will never use them again and as soon as my tank gets down a bit, find a new supplier. My tank got down to about 3% and they told me that someone had to be here or they couldn't deliver. What a bunch of crap. When their driver finally came, he didn't bother to see if anyone was home. They were supposed to call before delivery. He didn't call. And he didn't do anything to check our systems like he was supposed to do with gas levels below 5%. read more

Newer propane customer in MD, been in this house just over a year. Signed up for Amerigas Autofill program... have had a year of no issues but they missed refilling my tank in Jan. I didn't realize because I'm on autofill, autopay ... came home Friday to empty tank...0% on tank gaug, Amerigas site says my estimated tank level is 0%. When asked why it wasn't refilled they said it was a system error and they missed it. I have no heat, no hot water, no gas fireplace. Customer service has been useless...promised twice to escalate and get my tank filled. It's now Sunday and they are closed, no emeregency number to call, so I have to sit in the cold and wait. I will be canceling my service as soon as my tank is filled. read more

Amerigas was asked to refill my propane tank when it was about 28% remaining. Amerigas gave a date to refill the tank in about 6 to 7 days. Amerigas was reminded when the tank was 2% remaining. They promised that they have placed my delivery on URGENT refill. Later I reminded Amerigas time and again and twice a day for several days that that my furnace has stopped as there is no gas and I am without heat in the home and my Kitchen stove is also without gas. Till after eleven to twelve days or more Amerigas kept promising of gas delivery daily on urgent basis and did not fulfill their commitment where I remained without heat in the severe cold weather and with no gas in my Kitchen sove. Not a trustworthy company to deal with. Does not deserve any star in their rating. I cannot recomment this company to anyone. read more

We had AmeriGas come out to check our propane pressure. The rep adjusted our pressure which was low, while he was doing that he dropped one of the caps/bolt holding our regulator on. Because he could not find the cap in the mulch he hit a replacement from his truck. Lo and behold we were then charged for a new vent regulator for over $300. Never did he say we would be charged for a part. We have called three times to get this resolved with no progress. We went to their office and they are not open to walk-ins! We wrote a letter two weeks ago with no reply. We will NEVER use them again nor will we recommend them to anyone. read more

My business has been a customer for over 20 years. More and more their "autofill" just doesn't work. Currently have an empty tank and they don't know when they can come fill it. You'd think that 20+ years of service and 1,500-2,000 gallons a month would mean something. Nope. The call center over in India or whatever is more than unhelpful. This company does not care about customers and they have grown too large. Poor service, poor everything. Goodbye Amerigas! read more

NEVER USE! We have been out of propane for four days and have been calling constantly. You get transferred to a call center, the 'advocate' takes your information and you never hear from them again. It is 41 degrees inside our house and my husband has Covid so we can't stay with friends. This is the absolutely least-responsive business with which have ever dealt. These are life and death situations and this business could not care less. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Let's start with i was told i have a rusted tank so the delivery guy would not fill it, that's ok but what happened next is not. I was told to call Orlando which I did 3 times with messages and no return call. So i call the regular phone number and get an appointment between 12-5PM. Well that day at 8:13 the tech shows up to my house to install new tank but we are not home bc we are working and plan on being home 12-5. I called AmeriGas 9AM and a guy in Florida tells me he talked to Orlando (Maryland) and Orlando will call me in a few minutes when he is off the phone bc he is my jurisdiction worker. Well, that doesn't happen so I call AmeriGas again at aprox 10AM. I talk to Amanda(MD) who tells me that only supervisor Megan can get the tech to come back to my house at my time 12-5 but she's not sure if that can happen now but she will try.. Bless her heart bc she called me back in an hour saying Megan put me back on schedule for 12-5. At 5:20 i call them back and Lauren(Idaho) answers the phone and cannot help me at all bc everyone is gone for the day. They do not have an on call supervisor to help anyone and you have to wait til 8:30 the next day, no one at all. The tech will not answer his phone and she is not allowed to give anyone his name but obviously he is not showing up, he did not call like he was supposed to. I just opened my account this week and have already talked to a new gas company and guess what, they have supervisor on call 24/7 to help disgruntled customers. To AmeriGas I suggest you get better at helping your customers and hire more people in MD and not people all over the country who no nothing about anything. The guy in FL could not even see I had an appointment that day and looked up my jurisdiction for my contact worker. How do you operate when no one knows anything. VERY VERY BAD BUSINESS. Not only did I PAY IN ADVANCE for my propane 3 weeks ago- they didn't update my info so they finally deliver - LOCK OUT my tank and tel my although it's their error We will still need to wait two weeks for an available appointment to come unlock my tank and use the propane that I paid for in the beginning of December. I am an idiot...all the reviews on Yelp spell out what to expect from this company. Customer service is rude, short and does not give a *(&^% about the customer. Their prices are considerably higher compared to other companies. You will overpay for everything you ask for...refills, final removal of the tank, everything starts with $59 for dispatch of a technician...um, how else are you going to perform the request, then you will get charged for the job on top of the $59. I can't give ZERO stars, so one will have to do. Amerigas was chosen by the previous owner. The rent was paid on the tanks, so I continued the service. It took FOREVER to get the account changed and all of the systems inspected for turn-over of the property and accounts. That should have been a red flag! From July to OCTOBER!! Then a month later, just beginning the Holiday Season, the reality of the poor level of service really sunk in! I'd signed up (or so I thought) for autofill service. Wrong. A few days before Thanksgiving we ran out of gas. No gas to cook. No heat. No hot water. Am I living in a third world country I thought? So thank goodness that we are in the midst of global warming! Turkey on the outdoor grill, and a sunny meal out on the deck saved our family get-together this year. The cold showers weren't as easy to take. Oh, but a week later Amerigas came to save the day... Hey, weren't we supposed to be on auto-fill? January, it's cold in the house. The kitchen stove is squealing, and there's a strange smell coming from the dryer. There MUST be something wrong- so I call Amerigas to figure out what's wrong. Is it a leak? No, the tank has run dry. And THAT's when I find out "oh, your credit wasn't good enough, you aren't on auto-fill. You're a "will-call." That means you're a shitty customer and we don't have to come out for two weeks or more, and you have to pay in advance, AND you now owe us rent on your tanks, and because you ran out of gas we're going to charge you a $100 inspection fee to see if your stove is getting gas, and charge me to light it with my own lighter. Yep, it works. And track in mud through the house to do so, hon! Thanks. February- I'm in the hospital, but my daughter says the clothes aren't getting dry. Great- I call from the ER to get Amerigas to deliver. Two weeks in the hospital I come home to cold showers, no heat, nothing but a crockpot to cook in. Post surgery (I nearly bit the dust, no joke) what happened? March finally sees a truck come to fill only one tank. Thank you, lesson learned- call ahead. 7-10 days says the somewhat snotty office assistant as she looks up my file on April 13th. Today, the 25th of April, I have had it. AmeriGas has extremely poor customer service. I ran out of propane and was scheduled three separate times for AmeriGas to come to my house to refill my tank. I even took off work when I was told they would be there within the hour. They never showed up for any of the scheduled appointments! I called customer service in Jessup, Md. each time they did not show up and was assured they were coming on a different date and time FOR SURE this time. I have had enough. Just cancelled my account with AmeriGas. They are not reliable and do not keep their word on appointments. read more
