Top notch service! Our air conditioner went out during a hot week in June. Ameritech came out for a quote the same day. The quote included multiple options tailored to our needs. We got quotes from four other companies. Ameritech had the best value. It was the second lowest quote but included a better brand and maintenance for a year. They were in 2 days later installing our new air. The service person was professional, effecient, and clean. When he left, other than the fact that we had working air, you'd never know he was there! This despite some small demo work that needed to be done. We got a follow up call to make sure everything was fine the next day. Someone I know purchased their AC system from Ameritech. On the side of the AC Handler, they placed a sticker with a graphic that says "AMERITECH. REPAIR IT. REPLACE IT. MAINTAIN IT." Do not be fooled. When their AC went out on a Saturday night, they sent a technician the next afternoon to fix it. Over the course of a four hour service call, the technician identified that the circuit board, and OEM product from Japan, would be needed in order to get the system back online. By the way, it was July in Florida. The company maintained that the circuitboard would not be available in the near future, and that the customer should call back in two weeks to check status. Again, July in Florida - with no air conditioning. Miraculously the part arrived six days after the original failure, and a technician was dispatched 48 hours later (no right away - 2 full days later) to install and complete repair. A different technician arrived this time, Alex. Alex opened up the AC Handler and within 10 MINUTES found that a fuse was bad and needed replaced. THAT'S IT! No circuit board was needed after all. Ameritech did not take responsibility for the error and charged over $400 for labor for the ordeal. ''Nevermind that the customer's system was misdiagnosed entirely, made to wait in the Florida heat inside their home, which exceeded temperatures of 85º inside with humidity. Alex is a great AC tech, no doubt about it. But Ameritech should have some degree of ethical standards, which they clearly have not shown in this case. read more

Ameritech installed two new units in our home, replacing 20 year old systems in November 2022 costing about $18k. Since this time, the 2 tonne unit has stopped working on 3 occasions. The first time was during the cold spell in December so we had no heat. They came out and a few technicians looked at it and said it was an electrical issue (despite them checking the electrical panel when they installed the units). We had a new electrical panel installed. It worked for a while. Then in July 2023, the system shut off again. Their technician arrived out and said we needed to flush the system as water was backed up and charged us $325 for this. Now this week (Aug 2023) it has gone once more. We have a call into them to once AGAIN have them look at it but having your AC go ONCE AGAIN during Florida summers is unacceptable. At this stage we think that they installed a dud unit as three failures within the first 9 months is ridiculous. It seems that they'll promise the world when selling you a product but can't seem to install a reliable system. If I knew then what I know now, I'd go with another company. Bob is a smooth salesman but for us, their reliability speaks volumes. Update-08-20-2023 Ameritech installed the base platform for the units, this base is now sagging in the center and the units are not draining correctly. They're telling us that this is not covered by their warranty which is mind-blowing as they did all the work! Charged me for a new copper line set when unit was installed less than 3 years ago. They came out to replace a coil that went bad, when the put pressure the line set blew. I called to see what they can do, which should be replacing the line that failed, they said it would be $2200 to replace it. I don't believe that is fair considering they never actually replaced it. I've had 3 other companies come out to verify. So do yourself a favor and skip ameritech. read more

We had an issue where a smell of heat came out every time the AC turned on. This unit was bought and installed from Ameritech, so we called them. We thoroughly explained this issue on the phone. They advised us to pay the service fee to have a tech come out fix it. The tech came out a few days later and told us he thought he fixed it, but we should call if the problem persisted. The smell persisted, so we called them back. Katrina answered most of these calls (yet acted like she was new to the issue at every new call.). She said she'd refer to George, the service manager. First she claimed she'd call back. After a couple of days she told us she had an emergency and that's why she couldn't call back? Then, a couple of calls later, she claimed he'd call back... After 2 weeks of this nonsense she forwarded us to George's voicemail where I left a heated message, explaining my frustration and confusion. I then got an email with an estimate of about $1500, with absolutely no explanation. After two response emails, the last of which finally threatened an honest yelp review, I got an email from Katrina. According to her, George was able to diagnose our issue from our initial complaint. He won't guarantee it'll be fixed, but recommends we spend $1500 to clean our coils and buy a UV light and hope it works. They failed to explain why we paid for a tech to come out and do nothing, especially when our issue could be diagnosed over the phone? Maybe this is normal HVAC tech procedure, but it was especially frustrating that nobody would get on the phone and tell us what was going on. This may be the best option for us, but because of the way they conduct business, we don't feel confident that we can trust them. read more

Overdue on this review. We purchased a brand new AC and heat pump in Oct of last year. Bob was our sales man and he was amazing, kind and on point. He noted that we may have to incur additional charges due to possibilitynof needing new duct work. This in fact was what happened but he kept the cost low and only sold what was needed. The tech team installed 1 week later and were great. They had to get this project done in less than 2 days because my father in law had passed away and we were headed out on that Sunday for his funeral in NY. We bought a very expensive energy efficient air conditioning system from this company. We have had nothing but trouble. They have had to completely replace portions of the system. We have had them out every month to fix another problem with this system. We are continually not getting cool air. Each time we hear this excuse, it just needs adjustment. The other tech didn't do this correctly. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I am ready to take them to court if they do not give us a completely different system. They charged me over $700 for a fan blower motor. The motor only cost about $200 so they made over $500 labor for a one hour job. Then the guy told me that I should replace a capacitor. We recently had our 23 year old original A/C compressor die and since it was spring and not too terribly hot, we had time on our side to get lots of quotes, ask questions and field offers. There were quite a few very good offers from companies all over Orange and Osceola county. It was honestly tough to narrow it down - however a few things made Ameritech stand out and provided us with the reasons we chose them. First was professionalism. Bob F from Ameritech arrived to do our quote and he was thorough, patient and was able to answer all of our questions. Bob also did the most thorough inspection of the current lines and duct-work to ensure that the price he gave was the exact price we paid, with no hidden fees. The second reason we chose them was quality to price ratio. The price was not the cheapest of the bunch BUT they were definitely among the lower offers, and their price-to-quality ratio was outstanding. We could tell based on lots of online reviews, testimonials and Bob's presentation that we were paying for quality Trane equipment and a quality job. We let Bob know we were ready to move forward with Ameritech and scheduled our install date, which was within 48 hours of our quote. The install techs were outstanding. They were incredibly friendly, respectful and quiet, especially given the amount of work that needed done. They were clean, bringing drop-cloths and cleaning up after themselves constantly throughout the day. They went over everything with us once it was installed and made sure we knew everything we needed to about our new system. Moving into a new home, the AC unit was old and not cooling at all... it was mid 90s in the house. I shopped the replacement of our entire A/C system, getting 3 different quotes. They all were around the same price, but Ameritech was certified to sell Carrier air conditioners. Contractors have to meet certain requirements to be able to sell Carrier (top of the line) A/C systems, and after researching on Consumer Reports I determined this was the A/C system I wanted. Carrier and a couple of other top name A/C systems will last approximately 18 years, while the cheaper off brands will only last about 10-12 years. There was a $1400 difference between the off brand A/C's and the Carrier, and I felt that the number of years the Carrier system would last compared to the off brands was well worth the extra price. Our electric bill dropped over $80 a month too. Now to the service, Ameritech came out when they said they would, their techs installed everything in one day, they were polite and knew what they were doing. There was no hesitation, no "looking around" or trying to figure things out, they simply came in and took the old system out, and put the new one in. They ran new lines and drains, had to enlarge the hole in my hardwood floor (which entailed going into the crawl space under the house) and professionally sealed the hole with putty and cloth(?) tape, and hauled off the old equipment. I highly recommend this company and was completely satisfied with their service. read more

Not too much of a fan right now. We had a brand new unit installed two years ago and recently the unit was not operating correctly and wouldn't cool the home properly so we called them out to take a look. The first visit they added some coolant to see if that worked and we paid a minimum service fee. Then it happened again and they stated they needed to run a pressure test which would cost $200 (the charge was $225 actually) or so which we figured we needed to do anyway so we agreed to it. We were given a time of 3-4pm for an arrival and advised the tech would call us first but it would be closer to 4pm because he was coming from a distance. Rather that sit in a hot home all day we went out and at 2pm received a call from the tech that we was at our home! We advised him that we were not home and would stop what we were doing to come back to let him in. This is a blatant disregard for my time which is an example of bad customer service. My wife, son and myself abandoned our activity and raced home to meet the tech in fear that he would not wait for us. After 15 minutes of testing the tech located the leak which was outside in the unit itself inside the housing. When the tech found the leak he stated that this was not a part that Goodman (the manufacturer) has and it would have to be fabricated special for us. Today we get a quote from them for $765 none of which is covered under the warranty because the manufacturer does not even make this part? Also I would like to add that the tech said the part was damaged because the tubing was sitting against another pipe which melted it. Now please explain to me how this is my problem or how I should be responsible for paying this? We made this purchase because their sales rep said and our contract says "ALL PARTS WARRANTIED" (Well I guess only the parts they decide to make), we thought they were a company that was concerned with customer service and when I explained this to the office I was told well this is the cost of the labor and there is nothing we can do about it. So I will pay $1000.00 on top of the almost $6000.00 we paid for the unit to be installed only 2 years ago and I will not do business with this company again. I also plan on filing a complaint with the Department of Agriculture because if you are going to warranty "ALL PARTS" you should warranty all parts, not only the ones you or the manufacturer decide to. I run a business in central Florida that handles almost 2 million dollars a month and I know a thing or two about customer service. If I tell a customer something is warrantied I will honor it, and if the manufacturer doesn't hold up their end of the deal I will still warranty the job and fight with them to keep a customer happy. I have expressed to this company that I would like them to do right by me and they now have the chance to turn this review from negative to positive and I will update my review accordingly. (Update) Well they fixed my AC yesterday and I ended up paying $761.00, no phone calls from management, no phone call from the person in the office who said they would look into contacting the manufacturer, no follow up on how the service went. Well they have lost a customer and so many future ones as well because the next time someone asks me if I know who to use my only answer will be who NOT to use. The ONLY good thing about this company was the tech who came out to do the work, he was pleasant, worked hard and really did a great job. I was more than happy to give him a tip because this whole thing wasn't his fault. SO, hvac went down in the house. That's pretty much a really huge deal in Florida. We usually got a guy that we call for hvac repair/problem but he not available at the time. It's Florida. SO, I didnt want to wait. (big mistake). I probably like many other, GOOGLE up a local hvac place that got a good review. Ameritech came up 87 reviews on google with 4 stars? I ended up with really awful experience. Now, I am not sure if its just happen to be a bad tech show up day or what. The women that contact me for follow up was nice. However, the whole process seem to be a rip off. First time I call in. A tech show up and found that the drain hose was clogged. They supposedly check everything else and lube whatever is possible and inspected the system. Basically almost like a fixed the drain hose and tune up service. Then they recommended a whole bunch of stuff: almost $2000 service. Which I declined. Didn't think much of it. I thought they were good place for my future a/c service at that time. A/C work about 2 weeks then went down again. I called them again for service. That's when thing got a little crazy. They told me that there a leak in the system. Don't know where. Found it this time because they send a Freon specialist tech (really?? first time hearing that but sure). They could not tell where it leak or how. It's not way to tell what's in the system until an EVAP coil is clean first. BUT they know it missing about 4 lbs?? I was lost at that time but sure 2. Then they told me that its R22 system so to recharge it; Its $97 a lbs. 0_0. So basically my repair quote came up to be around $1200 just to get the system running so they can check for leak. If coil leaking; that's another $1000. If condenser coil leaking then whole unit needed to be replace. Then we went into scheduling some sale person to come over for a price quote for a whole new unit. ANYWAY. so glad one of my coworker just got his a/c R22 system also refilled like 2 months ago about $35 a lb. (Yea no kidding). We end up calling somebody else. Went over. Can't find any leak. refilled the system. A/C up and running well. $150 for the whole job? He said the evap coil is too old to be remove for cleaning. only going to damage part and cause more harm. We can use some spray cleaning if we wanted. He injected the system with a/c dye detection stuff. if the a/c not blowing cold again. he came back and hopefully able to pinpoint the leak. It been almost a month and everything still running fine. Finger crossed!! In conclusion, maybe I took this place the wrong way. But definitely not taking chance with them again. You can't even trust review these day. Too many fake one. maybe their own people wrote it. idk. read more

Ameritech was recommended to me by family so I went in thinking I could trust them. Of course, Jerry and Ben- the sales people, are wonderful and easy to work with, but that's where the impressive service ends. First the technicians were a day late to install my new unit (which is frustrating during a Florida summer with two kids)- but that was easy to let go. Next, they left dust and sand all over my house from where they installed grates. Again, not the worst thing in the world. Two months later, my unit stopped working and began giving me the error code "locked rotor" on the thermostat. I called them and they promptly came out to resolve the issue. The guy told me that the capacitor was too weak for the unit (THAT THEY INSTALLED), so he had to replace it. Yet again I told myself mistakes happen, so it was water under the bridge. Now just three weeks later the same issue is occurring. As you can see, my unit is on 73 and within 30 minutes is already reading 77. Tomorrow the forecast is 90 degrees...and they don't know when they have an available appointment. This was the last straw for me prompting me to write a bad review- and a bad review is extremely rare for me. We paid them almost 7,000 for this unit that is unreliable. Not to mention when the inspector for the city came here, he told us they were also using the wrong sized filter which could end up costing us hundreds of dollars per year. We knew our AC had to be replaced so we asked for referrals and received estimates form two local contractors. the first rep was 30 minutes late and admitted he almost forgot about us. he was there for two hours to give an estimate. the second company was late as well but only by about 15 minutes and they did call to let us know. I found Ameritec online and noticed they had good reviews so i asked them for an estimate. Chris was on time and very professional. he provided options and one of them was a more efficient unit then the others. We felt confident and did sign a contract with them and they did a great job and were very professional. we have had the unit for almost 3 months now and what a difference. our electric bill is over 30 % less now. I would gladly recommend Ameritech! At least get a quote from them for comparison. read more

We received estimates from 3 companies. When the salesman from Americatech finished, I was surprised at all we were getting for less than the other companies quoted me. I was out of town when the work was done but when I got home, I was quite impressed. The redid the box that holds the A/C unit, made the opening for the filter larger so more air would pass through, and just did a great job all the way around.
