My fiance and I stopped by to grab a quick dinner. We grabbed an appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 drinks and paid almost $60/70, but the food was not great for that price. I got the chicken teriyaki dinner plate and the sauce was very sour, and the veggies were overcooked and bland. I feel like I definitely should've gotten a burger plate instead! Despite the food disappointment, the service was great and our server was very sweet. It was trivia night so it was definitely nice to see that play out. Stop serving rotten food!! After picking rotten lettuce out of my salad I informed the server. Not to mention the servers first check in with us was over 10 minutes after dropping our food to the table. The server's response " I'm sorry about that. " then walked away. Offered no solution for me not getting to eat, or compensation for the meal. 10 minutes later she came back to ask how everything was. I was a bit confused as to why I was asked how my rotten meal was after bringing it to the staff's attention. I asked for the bill and when I received it, I was given a $6.00 discount for the $18.00 rotten salad. I again reminded the server that my salad was ROTTEN and I would not be paying any to for it. Horrible customer service! I made a reservation two days ahead for lunch. I was asked to confirm by text the day before. reservation 22 JUN Amherst Public House Upcoming reservation Reservation for 2 Sun · 1:00PM (EDT) · Dining Room I drive 2 hours to have lunch with my brother. When we arrived, there was a note on the door saying they were closed for a private event. Thinking there was a mistake, we went in but were told they were closed. Looking around, the restaurant only had about 10 people with plenty of free tables and a completely empty patio. I explained we had a confirmed reservation but was still told they could not seat us. They offered to have the manager speak to us but, after waiting for 15 minutes, the hostess came out to say the manager was "in a meeting" and could not speak to us. No one apologized or made any attempt to make things right. We left and found another place. Horrible, horrible customer service that was 100% their fault and a manager who won't even come out to speak to customers in this situation should find a new job. I'll never go back there again. First time we went here it was very good but the second and third times it was not good at all. Nachos had almost no cheese. I even called the waitress over to see that it was just a pile of chips! My quesadilla was just boring and way too browned. My husband had fish and chips and the fish was such an uneven thickness that the ultra thin ends were so over cooked and inedible. The cooks were so busy talking and laughing with each other that could have been part of the problem. We've learned our lesson and we won't be back. Too bad. Tried the Amherst Public House for lunch. Pretzel bites were awesome. They came with a cheese sauce & a cinnamon sauce both were yummy. Fried Chicken sandwich was really good batter light & crispy. Fries could have been cooked longer. Waitress was friendly but kept getting distracted by talking to other staff members or on her phone. Visited their first weekend being open to the public. What a refreshing addition to Amherst. Fair prices, outgoing staff, and an atmosphere that invites you to say for a couple hours and enjoy your drinks while watching a game or catching up with old friends. Certainly a place that has the potential to be a staple in the town of Amherst for years to come. Must try's include: The chicken wings, buffalo dip, and all of their pizzas. 2-1/2 hours for lunch. Totaly understaffed. Manager Genevieve, was so disrespectful. Told her we were waiting and hour and 45 minutes and still hadn't received our food. She had the audacity to question us and said she was going to check the time stamp. Came back and said it was actually an hour and 26 minutes since our order went in. That is nothing to be proud of. She did not comp us anything to make up for our 2-1/2 hours there. Offered a free desert on our next visit. There will never be another visit. What a disappointment! We ordered food for take out so weren't able to voice our problems in person. While my dish (APH mac&cheese) was edible, it was nothing I couldn't have made for $4 with a box of mac&cheese and some frozen microwaveable chicken bites. My bf's dish however was inedible. The cajun pasta was SO over spiced he couldn't eat it. And he loves spice!! Made some extra (lots of) pasta to mix with it so he could have dinner. The portions were small compared to the price. Disappointed for sure. Made a call to voice the problem. Management agreed to credit the card charged and apologized. Not sure we'll give them a second chance. :( read more

Enjoyed our meal last Sunday. Three of us had brunch entrees. The turkey club is silly with huge slices of bread, not what a turkey club is traditionally. We had been long-time enthusiasts of Savannah's, and this place is awful in comparison. We came on a Thursday night to celebrate a high school graduation, and we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food to be served, and the place was empty. Our waitress was lovely and it certainly wasn't her fault, but the kitchen was highly disorganized, and our food sat under the heaters for quite some time. The food itself was decent, but the poor food service delivery was horrendous. What a shame that Savanna's has evolved into this place. That the restaurant is nearly empty is an indication that the quality is quite poor. read more

I went to the Amherst Public House today (04/12/24) with three friends. My friends all got their meal before me and were about 1/2 through their lunch when my pizza came. I was cold and just veggies on dough. This was the worst pizza I every had. The management did not charge me for the pizza and gave each of us 10 percent off cards.
