Went to Amici's for girl dinner and honestly such a cute little spot The restaurant itself is very small so it has a super homey/intimate feel. There were only about 3 booths plus some half-booth/chair seating for maybe 20 people total. The decor was really pretty too, hanging flowers everywhere which made it feel cozy and aesthetic. Service was amazing. There was one bartender and one waiter and both were super attentive, fast, and friendly the whole time. We specifically went for the $20 girl dinner special which comes as a tower with martinis filled with Caesar salad, garlic knots, penne alla vodka, and french fries. The french fries were PHENOMENAL and the penne alla vodka was honestly sensational. My only wish is that the meal included some kind of protein like chicken because it would've made it feel a little more complete. Their drink menu is huge and really creative they had things like a cannoli martini and pistachio martini which were both delicious. I originally wanted a whiskey martini, so the bartender suggested a sidecar martini. It was good, just not really the vibe for a 5 PM dinner with my girlfriends lol definitely more of a late-night cocktail. I ended up switching to "That's Your Old Fashioned" made with birthday cake whiskey and liked that much better. Overall, I'd definitely go back for drinks and to try more food. Fresh from vacation, wanted a lunch spot I have yet to try. Decided to make the trek and give this place a try. The restaurant is in a sleepy little corner of Glastonbury in a tiny strip mall. The inside is decorated well and it's a very pretty space. The single waitress was handling the entire place herself. She got me seated after a short wait. She was very polite and helpful, offered recommendations and was always available but was very busy. Opted for linguini in vodka sauce with meatballs, and the crème brûlée. Food came out after a short wait. Took pics and dug in The pasta was not boiled in salty water. Pasta consistency was slick and firm but not crunchy. Either overworked fresh pasta or dried, I'm not sure which. The vodka sauce was one note, lacking any depth. It was a creamy tomato sauce and really needed seasoning to punch up the flavors. The meatball was dense, lacked any seasoning or flavor. They were cooked and warm, just not much going on beyond ground beef. The Marinara was actually really good. Balanced, sweet but not overly acidic. The quality showed in that sauce. The crème brûlée was very good. Little bit boozy due the gran mariner on top with the caramelized sugar. Creamy and light on the vanilla but the perfect consistency. The best bite of the bites. The garlic knots and cappuccino were okay. Nothing fancy there, but functional and good enough. The server showed concern when I didn't eat much of my entree. She offered replacements, which I declined. The hospitality was great even with her being as busy as she was. Price was high, coming out to around 45 bucks for the pasta and meatballs, cappuccino, and dessert. It was a lunch on a Monday, so not expecting the best. But the price was a bit much for the quality provided. I can see glimmers of greatness here. The server and the dessert were great, but their entrees leave a bit to be desired. As an Italian restaurant, it has the perfect ambiance and service expected for an elevated experience in that area. Amici's is a great find. Tucked away in the corner of a small plaza in South Glastonbury, we weren't sure we were in the right place the first time we went for lunch. We just tried it for dinner. The restaurant is small. Just 3 booths & about 4-5 tables. They don't take reservations, which wasn't an issue when we went on a Sunday evening. For both lunch & dinner, you get delicious garlicky rolls. We tried the burrata/fig appetizer- so good with the fig jam & balsamic vinegar glaze. Tortellini carbonara was very good as was the special of sole franchise. The servings are large and we took leftovers home. I had an expresso martini with Baileys- good & very frothy. They do have lunch portions until 3:00. At lunch, our friend had the pizza which looked very good & crispy. I had the eggplant parmigiana (took half home). So good! Service was so nice & attentive. I've never written a review for a restaurant before, but this experience genuinely compelled me to. I usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because everyone can have an off day, and I've always loved the food here. That's what makes writing this so disappointing. I understand this is a small restaurant, and we came on a Wednesday night. We honestly didn't expect it to be too busy, but regardless, we were happy to be patient. We were told the wait would be about 15 minutes, but we ended up waiting over 40 minutes. They took my phone number to notify me when our table was ready, but I never received a call or text. We eventually went back inside to wait, and despite standing at the front trying to make eye contact, we weren't acknowledged for a couple of minutes. When the staff apologized for the wait, we still told them we completely understood. Once we were seated, we placed our order and were served water. Our server told us she would bring bread, and every entrée we ordered came with bread. We waited around 15 minutes, but no bread ever came. During that time, two other parties were seated after us, and both received their bread before we did. We continued waiting another 5-10 minutes with no bread and no food. At that point, we were tired of waiting and asked for all of our food to be packed to go because we no longer wanted to continue sitting there. We also had to ask for the bread that should have come with our meal to be included. After a three minute drive home, the bread was barely warm and the food was too salty. I tried very hard to make excuses for the restaurant because I genuinely enjoy the food and was excited that you had reopened after your vacation. But today's experience made me reflect on my previous visits, and I realized this hasn't been an isolated incident. As a person of color, I've noticed that when I dine here with another friend of color, we've consistently experienced slow, inattentive service and have often felt overlooked. In contrast, when I've come with my white friends, the service has been noticeably more attentive. I can't say for certain why that difference exists, but after experiencing this pattern multiple times, it's difficult not to wonder whether race has played a role. No customer should leave a restaurant feeling that way. The food has always been the reason I kept coming back, but good food alone isn't enough. Feeling welcomed, acknowledged, and treated with the same respect and attentiveness as every other customer is just as important. I'm genuinely saddened that a restaurant I used to crave and recommend has left me feeling this disappointed. There are plenty of great Italian restaurants that serve wonderful food while making every customer feel equally valued. However, after today's experience, this restaurant isn't one of them anymore. read more

Amazing ambiance, food, drinks, and staff! came here for valentine's day and they don't take reservations - we waited about 30 minutes and were immediately greeted with this DIVINE garlic croissant shaped bread! It was the perfect start to our lovely dinner! It was beautifully decorated, had dim lighting, and even though it's small inside, it still felt personal and intimate with your table. The espresso martini was so delicious and my fiancé enjoyed my dubai chocolate martini more than me - it had an odd bubblegum flavor? it may have been an artificial pistachio flavor. however, the chicken alla casa was near perfection! the vodka sauce was creamy and flavorful along with the rest of the dish. we also got the vodka pasta with meatballs and it was definitely good. the pasta fagoli and caesar salad were also fresh and impressive. i cannot wait to come back here - especially for their "girl dinner" secret menu! they also gave everyone a rose at the conclusion of dinner, it was a very special touch! read more

We have been to this new restaurant several times. The pizza is delicious and we enjoy love the garlic knots and side salads, but they have an amazing pasta arribata that has tiny meatballs that is amazing! The service is always exceptional too! This family had a restaurant in Rocky Hill, so it says a lot that people come in to eat and talk with the family from there! read more

Went to Amici's for a pizza, which was delicious, but the Service was below par. Simple changes would make a big difference in the overall experience. The waitress did a poor job of following up at our table. Several times she whizzed by our table without even looking. We had to wave our hand to get her attention. She never came back to ask if our pizza was ok. Also, we were not asked if we wanted grated cheese or hot pepper seed with our pizza. When I went to the ladies room, there was no toilet paper anywhere in the whole bathroom. I had to flag down the waitress and ask her if she could provide some toilet paper. She went in the men's room and took one of their rolls. My husband ordered two different bottles of beer and both were skunky. My tap beer was warm. We had to ask for the bill and then after we gave her our credit card she came back and told us she made a mistake on the bill. read more

I was expecting more based on the reviews. None of the pasta is homemade. The drink selection was boring and the wine list was pretty bad. The chicken in the main dishes was dry. The kids thought the french fries were good but they were previously frozen fries. There is no veal on the menu. The dessert list lacks creativity as well. read more

The standout of our lunch was undoubtedly the Lobster ravioli--it was absolutely delicious! Each pillow of pasta was perfectly cooked and bursting with fresh, succulent flavor.
