We had an awful experience here due to the waitstaff. Horrible attitude off the bat. We asked for a drink menu and she said there isn't one. The table next to us had one. Odd. The food runner made a face when dropping our food to the table...these people must absolutely hate working here and it showed. I got a Ceasars salad. Can't mess that up. Wrong. The dressing did not taste good at all. My husband got a piece of fish. That was fine. But the waiting to get seated. Forget about it. We were waiting for a table. And some lady behind us, sat herself. My husband said to the host. WTH he said she insisted on sitting herself. I'm like, hell no bitch. We all wait our turn. We visit Lakeside Bar & Grill almost exclusively for takeout food, not that we wouldn't enjoy dining there, but that is just our lifestyle right now. The food is delicious and the portions are always enough for two meals. The owner and staff are wonderful, always kind and helpful. I recommend this restaurant highly !!! Stopped in prior to a hockey game at Buffone Arena. It's located in a strip mall and I almost drove by it. Doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside there were only a few seats available, which was a good sign. The menu is a bar and grille menu with a ton of sandwiches (also available as wraps), many burger choices and quite a few salads too. There are also entrees, but we were just there a beer and sandwich. The four of us all got different sandwiches (3 wraps and 1 sandwich). One got chips, I got onion straws, another fries and the 4th got cole slaw. The slaw and pickles were homemade and delicious. The onion straws were excellent. Everyone raved about their sandwiches too. Service was prompt and courteous. Definitely going back. read more

After waiting 30 min, they gave my table away! Never called me or anything. On top of that, gave me the wrong plate and also are not as friendly as I would have thought. First and absolutely last time. There were five of us, my girlfriend's meal arrived after everyone else was almost done eating, basically the same time that the check did. We were never offered a second drink, or even a drink menu, and our server had no idea what beers were available. Ordered takeout for my family and went to pick it up and realized it was a whole different order that was given to us once we got home. Luckily it wasn't too far of a drive to drive back and switch out the order for ours. We finally tried Lakeside Bar and Grill. Not a fancy place - just a pubby type place. I have to say the food was fresh, cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. I had the California Chicken Wrap Marinated grilled chicken, guacamole, roasted red peppers, thinly-sliced cucumbers and mixed greens with ranch dressing. $13.95. Another person ordered All American Burger topped with American Cheese. All Burgers are 1/2 lb. Black Angus and are served on a Bulkie roll topped with lettuce, tomato and red onion. Also $13.95. Al sandwiches come with freshly cut French fries. They had a rather large menu so there seems to be something for those picky eaters!! Lakeside was busy on Monday 10/14 so service was a little slow as to be expected. Server was nice but inattentive. The Antipasto platter was good except for the tuna fish which was so dry it was like eating sawdust. I wouldn't recommend the antipasto platter because of this major flaw. I went in last week with some buddies. We heard good things about the prime rib and wanted to give it a try. Draft Beers were very cold and 22oz! Good wings and tenders. We all ordered prime rib. Medium rare and rare. They all came out medium well. I mean Completely brown. We asked the waitress to get us new slices and she responded, " sorry they're sending them all out like that.." Well why didn't you tell us beforehand!? They were terrible. Tough and chewy. The only redeeming quality of the entree was the onion strings. They were excellent ! Terrible job on the prime rib. Hit or miss. On a good night, friendly service, great nachos, ok drinks, a decent burger (although "medium rare" seems an elusive goal.) On a bad night, service can range from apathetic to grumpy. Fries/onion rings usually limp and greasy. Meatballs mushy, pasta always overcooked. Turkey dinner ok when they haven't sold out if it. Salads are fine. As others have noted, lots of vocal locals at the bar yelling about sports or politics, depending on who they're more pissed at. Convenient location, plenty of parking, and open late, so it's sometimes the only option available. But more attentive management could make a real difference here. read more

My husband, myself and our grandsons 7 & 9 had dinner here last night and were very happy. Lasagna and meatballs....very large portion and delicious. BBQ chicken quesadilla...lots of filling and tasty. only negative was some edges were burnt. Chicken bruschetta app very good. Kid's grilled cheese. Could have been cooked more evenly. Fries and onion strings very good. Kid's sundae was awesome. It is noisy. The best part of the experience was our server, Tracy. She went above and beyond making everyone satisfied and happy. It is always interesting to find a restaurant that is popular among the locals. That should mean good food at good price, or at least I think that is the secret recipe for local's choice. We heard this is one of those spot, so we went to check it out. It is a local sports bar, and while we were there, people of all ages kept coming in and out. The inside is not so big, a bit smaller than I expected. It has a long bar counter seating from the entrance to the back, and high table seating throughout the space. They had several TVs on the walls for the sports fans. We went there for lunch, and we were pretty hungry. So, we decided to share an appetizer first. We had no idea what we were getting into at this point... We ordered Quinsigamond Platter, which was HUGE!!! It was too much for the three of us, especially since we all ordered individual lunch item on top of that. We had Fish Sandwich, Meatball & Sausage Combo Sandwich, and The Brenna Salad. Each one was crazy big portion, and at very affordable price. No wonder they are one of the very popular spots among the locals... We took home maybe half the food, as it was just way too much for the three of us. The generous portion of everything is just unbelievable. It was a nice lunch, we were completely stuffed, needed a good nap afterwords. The service was ok, friendly and casual. The atmosphere is comfortable, no-frill, and laid back. If you need a massive amount of comfort food or salad at great price, this is the place to go. read more

We used to be weekly visitors of lakeside. There was only 2 of us and our waitress forgot both of our drinks to start. I ordered steak tips and sides, both came out cold. The steak was ordered as medium and came out cooked liked leather. I sent them back, not 30 seconds later same plate came out with the same cold food, not even a sad attempt at microwaving overdone beef. I can't remember the last time I sent food back at a restaurant. Don't waste your time visiting lakeside. read more

This restaurant is tucked away off of Route 9 in the same plaza as Trader Joe's and Petco. It was a great little find! They don't have tons of tables but they do have lots of bar seating. It is a fairly small place which I think adds to the great atmosphere. We came here for lunch on a weekday. I got the meatloaf sandwich special - it was really good. Meatloaf can either be really good or awful - this one was flavorful and cheesy! My mother got the pastrami sandwich so I had to try it - pastrami had great flavor and was not fatty at all. The fries I would pass on next time - they were thin and almost tasted burnt. They did not have any crispness to them but I have heard a lot of people say they like them... I also tried the onion strings which were perfect! I would def get them again. The waitress was very friendly and always there when we needed something. We tried to get in here on a Sunday afternoon but they had a 1/2 hour wait - definitely worth the wait if you have the time! And how can you beat $15 for a great lunch for 2? The cheddar bacon burgers were good - crispy, delicious bacon done right. Very generous serving of French fries or onion strings, although they didn't seem to be hot upon arrival. The Mediterranean platter was also nice, and could either be a complete meal or a nice shared appetizer. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of my shrimp scampi. Their portions are very large which is amazing. My shrimp scampi was extremely saucy though. Super saucy. Not that it's a horrible thing. It tasted good but it was a little messy. The fries though, if I had an extra stomach just for the fries at this place, I would order extra fries. The fries are thin and crispy, as well as plentiful. They're the portion of fries that if you're out with your gf and you ask her what she wants and she says she's fine with her shrimp scampi and you order a burger and fries you'd be able to survive because they have given you enough for the both of you. read more

Based on pics I had to order the Quinsigamond platter appetizer. Wow. It's a monster meal in its own rights. The wings were tangy, the mozzarella was fresh, and the potato skins on point. It's a heart attack on a plate, not to mention all the onion straws. We took a lot of it home. My meal was the fish and chips. First, the plate was a mountain of fries topped with a piping hot huge piece of nicely breaded fried fish. The tartar sauce was a bit runny for my liking, but tasted good and helped cool it down. Now, for the atmosphere, it was packed. We Had a table next to the bar. They allow people to stand next to the bar, even when no seats at the bar are free.
