I came here to grab a quick lunch before my family needed to catch the ferry. The interior and exterior of the shop itself are nothing unexpected, but the food surprised us all in the best way possible. I had the Main Street Stroll: mozzarella, tomato, arugula, and pesto on ciabatta. It was a perfect combination of ingredients. Each ingredient was fresh and in ideal proportions and flavors. I care very much about my sandwiches and this sandwich stood very high in my mental rankings. This next part is a review written by my daughter. I tried her BLT and I fully agree with everything she said: "The food here is amazing!!!!! I would especially recommend the BLT, I got mine without turkey and it was by far the best I have ever had! They put the tomato in between the lettuce so the bread wouldn't get soggy and that made it so much better than the ones I have tasted in the past. " The kebab chicken is also very nice. You rarely find grilled kebabs at a sandwich shop, but they've got them and they do a great job with the seasoning and the grilling. Thank you to the team there. Wanted something lite for lunch near where we were staying and this place popped up. Decided to go when I saw some of the pictures of the food and the reviews. It definitely did not disappoint. My wife and I shared the mayflower deluxe, Oven Gold turkey, bacon, avocado, Provolone cheese, sprouts and Sriracha mayo in toasted ciabatta bread. I wasn't expecting much but the moment I took a bite out of the sandwich I regretted sharing it haha! The sandwich looks small in my pic but it's not. Definitely decent size to share. It also comes with chips and a pickle. I also got a soup so it worked out fine. The sandwich was awesome and I kept telling my wife it's the best thing I've ever had since we've been coming to cape cod. The New England clam chowder was really good as well. Full of clams and just the right consistency. Some places I've had here are really watery. This was not and done right. My son enjoyed his turkey sandwich. The inside was a little small and if it was a time when it was busy I could see it being a problem but we went a bit after the lunch rush and it was fine. The workers were very nice and helpful. My family has been coming to this deli every summer during our trips to Cape Cod, so it was really disappointing to have such a bad experience this year. We ordered three sandwiches at around 12:00 p.m.--a cold "Main Street" sandwich and two falafel sandwiches. We then waited almost an hour for our food, finally receiving it just before 1:00 p.m. During that time, we watched countless customers who ordered after us receive their food first. We were told that some of those orders were placed online, but we personally watched several people walk in, order at the counter, and get their food before us. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, so we spent nearly an hour waiting inside an 82-degree restaurant that felt unbearably hot and stuffy. It made an already frustrating wait even more uncomfortable. Our order should not have been pushed to the back simply because it may have taken longer to prepare. A fair system is first come, first served, especially when customers are waiting in the restaurant. When we politely expressed our disappointment after waiting nearly an hour, instead of an apology we were met with attitude. We were also told they were out of the chips that normally come with the meal, without any effort to make up for the inconvenience. The long wait was frustrating enough, but the poor customer service made the experience even worse. It's especially disappointing because we've been loyal customers for years and looked forward to stopping here every summer. Unfortunately, after this experience, we won't be returning. read more

Food and service is really good....but, last time I went, getting my same 'ol, same 'ol because I hadn't had it in awhile, I found out after getting home, I was charged for switching provolone to American cheese, and charged for garlic aoli that I asked for instead of mustard, as I get hives from mustard. Online ordered here a couple days ago, quart of lemon chicken soup, grilled cheese and a roast beef on ciabatta. Food was outstanding. Best roast beef I have had in some time. Soup was excellent! My order was prepared in about 10 minutes ready go when I walked in, did not really interact with staff as it was quite busy and found my order on my own. Needed a place for a decent sandwich and the Ocean Street Cafe didn't disappoint. I ordered paid at the counter and received a pager to take back to my table. It takes a minute as the sandwiches are made fresh. My Cape Flyer Chew Chew, ham, cappacolla, salami and Provolone on a toasted ciabatta bun was well worth the brief wait. All the ingredients are fresh and flavourful and a pickle spear on the side is an excellent pairing. Why I'll go back: Very fresh sandwiches at the right price. You HAVE to order: I've only had the roast beef sandwich, but as you can see from my Yelp brothers and sisters, they do many sandwiches really well. Tony's Tip: the place is not air conditioned, so it's a bit hot and stuffy (major sympathy for the women creating our sandwiches and the dude at the grill). I'd take your order to go - there are so many nice spots around Hyannis to sit and enjoy. I was in need of a late lunch to tide me over while waiting for the ferry to Nantucket. Ocean Street Cafe was within a couple blocks of our departure spot, so I figured it would do. I was worried it would be a low quality, standard attempt at traditional sandwiches. My bad. Everything is made fresh here, which also takes a little time (10-minute wait with just a few people having ordered ahead of me). I was in the mood for roast beef, customizing it by swapping out ciabatta (often a little to chewy for me) for country white and adding red onions. Otherwise, it's a classic roast beef sandwich, but thick with the bread lightly grilled. Absolutely delicious! In fact, one half was enough for me, so I saved the other half for a little lunch filler the next day. FYI, came with a pickle and a small bag of Lays. All for $14. Whether you're doing the Hy-Line or the Steamship, this is the best spot within walking distance to grab a bite while waiting to leave or for the trip over. Excellent Sandwich Shop! We stopped here to grab a quick bite for lunch and ordered our food to go. We got the Beach Walk sandwich and the Yes! We have falafel wrap. Both were made to order, fresh, and tasty!! The Beach Walk sandwich had a garlic mayo that was SO good. The sandwiches were pretty large and well packed with the goods (no stinginess here!), and they gave us a little bag of lays potato chips. My only complaint was that the bread on the beach walk was a little over-toasted on one side, but it was still delish and not a deal breaker. It wasn't too busy, so it was a pretty quick turnaround. They have a notice posted with the approximate timing for the types of items (for example, cold sandwiches 5-10, warm sandwiches 10-20, grill items 20-35, etc.), which I thought was considerate and smart to set expectations with the customers. The place was pretty easy to find and in a good location. There is street parking and a lot right across the street. The lady working was polite and friendly. While I've only been here a small handful of times over the years, I've always been quite pleased with the customer service, cleanliness of the establishment, and drool-worthy falafel wraps.
