I'm sorry...the bathroom made my experience horrible. Almost threw up when I opened the door.

I was in Venice enjoying a Ben & Jerry's pop up event and they were partnered with Amigos. There were some people enjoying a tasty looking quesadilla so I had to have one! It looked so good! Service was quick and friendly. The owner was there and he was very friendly and welcoming. He had me try the strawberry lemonade and it was DELICIOUS! Sweet, tart, and just right. The quesadilla came out and I was surprised at how huge it was for only $10. I planned to eat half at the restaurant and finish at home, but I just couldn't stop. My cousin ordered the same thing and had the same result. An empty plate and a happy belly. I usually stick with food trucks for birria, but I've finally found a brick and mortar doing it right. Can't wait to come back!

Excellent spot conveniently located by the beach for great tacos! Service was fast, and we went for a Sunday lunch and there was plenty of seating. I went with the Birria tacos plate, which came with 3 tacos and rice and beans. Tacos were solid, very juicy, and the meat was soooo tender. The rice and beans were not my favorite, though they weren't bad! I wish the beans had a touch more flavor. They have what seems like a great taco tuesday deal, so I do plan to return!

The birria here is GOOD! It's being advertised as Tijuana style birria, I can agree that it taste very authentic to this region of Mexico... the consome which is the beef broth is a Must! I'm guessing due to its location the price per taco is high but it's cool since you get to people watch right next to the Venice boardwalk! The service is chill, you order at register and they bring the food out to your table.

I am a huge taco connoisseur so I am very picky with my tacos, I absolutely love this place. I love their beef tacos. I think I could probably eat about five in one sitting and be very, very happy. It is very clean in there and they are so sweet. They also have like a back patio if you don't want to sit in the front. I recommend getting the taco plate. With a bottle of soda. 10 out of 10 I recommend. I'm also from Chicago so I am very impressed because the tacos was packed with flavor. Don't forget the salsa and don't forget the limes. The lady taking my order was very helpful and the employees make sure everything was super clean

Tacos not good and overpriced. The tables were dirty and the beans tasted like canned. The tacos meat tasted stale and old. They were slow to bring us the food. Outside is cool but literally tables and chairs are dirty.

Everything was fresh, moist, succulent, and piping hot. Great customer service and seamless fast ordering process as well. This spot was so good we went TWICE while we were in Venice Beach! Check em out as you won't be disappointed!

Was in the area and stumbled on this place. There was a small group ahead of me. Ordered the tacos plate. They do a 3% surcharge if you used a credit card - which they didn't tell me about. Tacos were okay. The rice and beans were bland though. Service was okay. Nothing to rave about.

Oh no. A well meaning imposter of south of the border style food. It's unfair of me to criticize the people who work there because they were kind and smiled after I ordered. But that's where the evening took a turn for the worse. It wasn't the radishes nor the plate itself (divided, camp style into sections) The beef tacos themselves. Flaccid and lukewarm, the orange shell was soft and wet, making adding more lime juice futile. They fell apart in my hand. It took two hands to eat the melange of chopped liquid and solid. The beans were absolutely flavorless. As if they were soaked in distilled water because they reminded me of dried beans without any seasoning at all. The Spanish style rice, although somewhat warm was swimming in the somewhat off putting liquid that surrounded the beans. Water would have more character. Salt is a forgotten ingredient. The food lacked balance or love. It was disappointing for my last night in Venice. They have to at least season their food. But it won't matter. The people who feed here will never be back. A shame.

Every restaurant in Venice is grimy, tourist-ridden, overpriced, vegan or just plain average. You can drive 10 minutes inland and find better. Your wallet will thank you. Your taste buds will thank you. Tacos por favor is pretty much the take-out Mexican spot you grew up going to (often out of convenience). It's Thursday night and Mom doesn't feel like cooking. Or it's lunch, and you and your broke high school friends have each scraped together $5 change for a burrito. These types of restaurants always exist better in our memories, they make us sentimental, they remind us of a simpler time when all that mattered was who had the latest video game, or who's house you could chill at, or wether you had a bike or skateboard to get around town. A few years later topics shifted to booze or weed, and eventually: chicks. All throughout, some things never change, and that's a preferred taco spot, which you cling to the way you would a favorite sports team, a religion or treasured family heirloom. There's another taco spot across town that may be better, but you would never admit that to anyone, not even yourself. As we age, these types of affiliations become a thing of the past. We move to new cities, and with that, the chance to re-invent ourselves. We try different foods. A $20 chicken combo plate from Erewhon? A salad pizza from Abott's Pizza? A late-night chicken Gyro? Like a tortilla chip left out in the sun, the novelty of new foods grows stale, albeit still salty. We crave comfort, we crave what we know, we crave the foods that remind us of home. Sometimes, we feel lost. Los Angeles beats us down, leaving us wandering the boardwalk like bitter, weakened versions of our former selves. Everyone in Venice seems to have a cure. Have you tried an astrology reading? Hot-boxing your house with sage? Palm readings? Weekend yoga retreats? Raw water? Adaptogen-infused smoothies? If you have half a brain and a penchant for seasoned meats, head on over to Tacos Por Favor.

"Hoda" saw things differently -- she would not secure bags as every single other restaurant in the country does. No, she would be a rebel and leave those bags loosely tied, inviting drivers to help themselves to whatever was inside. And if food happened to fall out of the bag onto the ground after pickup? Well, it's the driver's responsibility after pickup so more than likely, the food goes back into the bag. Anyone who cares so little about food security should not be working in food service. It makes me wonder what ELSE she doesn't care about...

Now, at first bite, for some odd reason, I thought the dish was going to be hot, but it was cold and absolutely delicious! Taking our server Mauricio's advice, I tried each item separately on my plate and then mixed it up... Yummy! New flavors had my taste buds doing a happy dance over and over again! Haha! I would absolutely 100% get this dish again! The flavors were electric once combined! Turn up the Heat | Our server Mauricio asked my spice level and I confidently said spicy! He asked if I was sure and I told him the story about me being in India, requesting a spicier version of a dish & the Chef coming out to take a look at me, because he couldn't believe I wanted spicier! The girl at the next table told her to rub her eye with her hair... Which oddly helped! Plantains | I can always appreciate plantains, as I love them! They arrived at our table and quite plentiful! I appreciated that the flavor was just the right amount of sweet and savory... Perfect! As conversation flowed easily between me, my friend, and the traveler! Though his meal included chicken, a dish he frequently orders when he's in town, he invited me to explore the veggie part of the menu and mentioned that the food was really good here! Something made me trust his recommendation and I'm glad I did! We had fun chatting with the friendly traveler! Overall | Oh my goodness! Hahaha!
