It's been years since our last trip to Amigo's and unlike others on here, we are a fan. The chips are very good, you can tell they are made in house. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was given a man sized portion and it had great flavor. The pitcher of margaritas were quite tasty. Great little place tucked away off the main drag but well worth finding. It can get crowded so if the parking lot is full you may have to wait a bit. The food is fresh, ample and tasty. When you walk into Amigos, you know you are in Mexico! Authentic dishes and tasty! My children remember going here more than any other restaurant in Naples. Last night, I had the seafood soup - loaded with chunks of fish with every bite. I scooped up all of the broth until my bowl was empty. My son ordered a combo of a burrito, a taco, and an enchilada with beans and rice, and had enough left for his lunch today. The service is spot on, with several waitresses to service all our requests. We were glad to find Amigos open on a Monday night. Goodbye Amigos, we will visit again soon! read more

Good food, but too many other issues to keep me from coming back. So many tables reserved, that there were hardly any available for walk in customers. They provide a small bowl of chips and salsa while you wait, but you have to pay for refills. If you order anything that comes with tortillas, you get what you get and have to pay for extra if needed. A bit greedy on the owners part to put such pricing considering it's a "hole in the wall." And be careful how you order: we we were asked what we wanted to drink. I said coke and my husband said diet coke. Her reply to me was "bottle?" So I said "sure" assuming they only served bottles of soda. She brings me a small glass with ice and the bottle of coke, but gives my husband a large glass of diet soda. As it turns out, they have refillable fountain Pepsi products (which was given to my husband) and non-refillable bottled Coke products. I was never given the option, and if I had, I would have requested Pepsi since I prefer that over Coke. When I complainedd about it, the woman tried to say that she explained this as soon as we sat down, but I reminded her of how the conversation actually went. Luckily she came back a little later and said they would allow me to have free refills with the Pepsi products. But it didn't have to be such and big "to do" as they made it. read more

Excellent food. Excellent service! I have a problem with John's review of Amigo's restaurant. My wife and I have been going to Amigo's for around 8 years now. Many of our friends we have taken there still go back, We love Mexican food and found Amigo's to be absolutely the best. We have been to just about every Mexican restaurant in the Naples, Fort Myers area, and found none that can compare to the quality of the food, and the friendly service we receive. Now, in our 8 years (average 2 times per month) I have never received salsa in a little plastic tub like McDonald's, there home made salsa comes in small glass bowls that complement the rest of the meal. I also do not understand John's complaint of watered down Margaritas, they are awesome too. See for your self, Amigo's is a true Naples treasure! read more

Tried Amigo's cafe again. Again, I liked it very much. The service was prompt. The fresh chips were very good along with the fresh made salsa. I ordered the chicken burrito with black vs. the pinto beans. Tasty, very fresh and HOT! I do agree a bit with my wife now that the white cheese on the entree wasn't the classic Mexican white cheese, but mmmm it was good. I will be back! read more

My husband and I went there two days ago. The food was ok, the service was not good at all. Our server forgot water, ok I can ask it again, no problem... then she knocked off the garnish of my Sangria while she was taking the order and she never replace it. I asked her about the avocado salad and she gave me a total different description of the actual avocado salad I received. I told her I could not absolutely have blue cheese and she gave me blue cheese dressing. No way, we definitely won't go back. read more

The food is competent. The very best part of the meal were the chips that were served. Definitely homemade. But the menu is clear -- your table (no matter how many people) is allowed exactly one basket of chips. You want more, you pay $2.75 for each basket. The food was ok. As described by one of the other posters, somewhat bland. I had a burrito. Cheddar cheese and sort of a barbequey beef. Rice was pretty bland. The service stinks, just stinks. This is the second time I've gone. The first time, apparently the entire restaurant was reserved and one of the waitresses erroneously seated us. After waiting quite a while for our order to be taken, eventually the owner asked us TO LEAVE her nearly empty restaurant because other patrons were coming. So we did. WOW. We foolishly tried again. We were shushed to a dark corner booth (with one side blocked by the chair from another table) because, again, some VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE were going to show. Again, half of the restaurant. Regrettably, we did not get in an out fast enough not to have the waitstaff slammed by having the entire place fill up in one fell swoop. No beverages refilled, no one checked to make sure the meal was ok, to see if we wanted anything else. Waited ten minutes for the check. So, if you want, OK, not great, but OK mexican food and you have a party of 30 and reserve the place, I guess its the place to be. If you're not, expect not to be welcome. read more

Loved the chimichanga which was perfectly light and crunchy on the outside, but cheesy and with flavorful pork on the inside. My husband ordered the very popular fajitas and those were absolutely wonderful - flavorful, fresh and sizzling. Service was attentive and prompt. And save room for the fried ice cream which is decadent but worth whatever workout you have to do later! read more

This is some really good Mexican in southwest fla (Naples area). Try one of everything if you can. The pork is excellent.

They were ill prepared for an in-season crowd. They took reservations and held seats, but people were pouring in.. Why? Got me. They were rushing everything and messing everything up. The drink orders were wrong, the food orders were wrong. The food came too quickly and in a piecemeal fashion. The servers did a terrible job trying to keep up with the demand. The food, once it came was average at BEST and awful in parts earning an overall score of yuck. Seafood (not a Mexican restaurant forte anyway) was exceptionally poor. Seafood fajitas had 1 scallop, two small shrimp, some tired, liver-tasting slices of the cheapest defrosted fish from Chinese farms (orange roughy), and the beans and rice that came with it tasted like the scalded dirt from the fajita pan. The cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce shreds were fresh, but the tomatoes tasted like GMO and had that frog gene flavor. The cheese was texture without flavor. We ordered sparkling water and the young lady brought a carafe of white wine. We explained in broken spanish "agua con gas" and clearly she had no idea... the older woman helped out but the demand was crushing their marginal skillsets into an overall chaotic, rushed, and awful dining experience. First time I ever tipped less than 10% in my life. It was more than they deserved. I will never go back. Fajitas are easy to make and these sucked. Crappy oils, skimpy portions and no love. When I travel to Naples, I always swing in to Amigo's. I love mexican food, and this is near where I regularly stay. I can't saw that the staff is warm & friendly, so I always attributed it to a possible language barrier & they are just being "reserved". Food is good. I wish they served Daquiri's, but they don't (for some reason). The booths are old & worn so prepare to sink down LOW & struggle to get up out of them. It's never been packed but I've never been there during regular meal times. read more
