Stopped in while on a trip to the area for work and I was starvinggggg! I had thought about grabbing something quick at a fast food place, but changed my mind last minute. I'm glad I stopped by because not only was the service as quick as a fast food place, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my food as well and the portions were quite large! I was able to take some home and eat it for dinner the next night. Overall, I'm thoroughly happy I decided to stop by Amigo's Mexican Grill and support local people and their business over a fast food chain and would recommend to anyone going through the area. read more

This place has a clean smell when you walk in. We were greeted with chips, salsa and a server the moment we sat down. Very attentive service. Great food and freshly made to order. We couldn't believe how large the queso serving was! Thanks Amigos for a tasty lunch and great service. read more

Food tad bland, like they just opened cans. Cashier was so busy talking to another customer just gossiping. The cashier looked at me and said she could take my ticket after I kept waiting but she continued to completely ignore me while taking my money. The other customer stated she was a waitress at another place and talking about her rude customers. I thought both of them were rude and the cashier should have been more interested in the customers in front of them. read more

Okay y'all listen up. This tex-mex (whatever y'all cal it in Tennessee) place is pretty good. Plenty of food! I wasn't expecting this place to have aguas frescas, but they got em! Went to lunch here twice while staying at the Henry Horton State Park 6/1-5/22. Both times the food was very good. The chips and salsa were very fresh and the cheese dip was awesome. The Chimichanga on the 1st visit was bland but edible. The steak fajita taco salad was the bomb! We both ordered this on our return visit. We will make a point of stopping here again when we return to he area. Highly recommend! read more

Great authentic Mexican food. Chile relleno was fluffy and delicious. Family run with attention to flavor and nice portions for the money. The chips are always fresh and everything we've tried on the menu was done well with just the right amount of spice. The chorizo was spicy and tasty. I get so paranoid eating out while being vegan but the staff here at Amigo's was so amazing and so supportive and truly made my experience so stress-free and delicious! The owner (I think it was) was soo kind and so helpful and even gave some suggestions for us. The food tasted delicious. My family eats at this restaurant often, at least once a week. The chips and salsa are a lot more flavorful than other local places, and the food, in general, is great, with great prices. In a year and a half, going there at least once a week, sometimes more, I think the food was not up to par only once. They were seriously busy, and did try to make things ok. WORST. The food is lower medium quality at its finest and the service is always atrocious. I live in Chapel Hill and there aren't many options, but there is no reason to go here. I've given them so many chances, thinking "well there just busy" or whatever. But no, they really are that bad. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants to go to for dinner. Everything on the menu is amazing. If you are looking for something normal I would recommend the Carne Asada tacos. If you are looking for something new I would recommend the molcajete (best one I have ever had even compared to when I visit Mexico). The food has a lot flavor! Most Mexican style restaurant will make food more bland to hopefully have more business in this area, but not this place and I love it for that. Next is the hospitality you are treated with when you arrive it is awesome. Usually you will find a very friendly gentleman named Hugo that will greet you with a smile and will become your friend in no time, of course when you leave he will always give you a nice handshake and make sure you don't need anything and thank you for coming when you leave.
