    a bowl of food

went to las fiestas in chapel hill got the 2 taco salads with ground beef and 2 fajitas jalisco mixed the shit was not even done the shrimp was rubbery like chicken was cold and not done. we spent alot of money there it was a togo order. i called them when i got home and the girl i talked to said she was the assistant manager. i told her about it and she didn't say sorry or we will make it up to you or anything. she asked the cook who was supposed to prepare it if it was cooked and she took his word over a customer who was looking right at it on there kitchen table that it was not done!! im very very upset. i will never never never never never ever go back there. i even asked to talk to the owners and she said he ain't there. i think when the owners have that many complaints he ought to follow up with the poor service people are receiving from the restaurant and the customer service as well. it was plum pukey looking. i even asked her i said i can send you the pictures i took of it and she said no.poor poor service

Grilled shrimp, steamed vegetables, and rice for $8.75. Really tasty.

Taco shell very stale. Salsa tasted like it had a ketchup base. Restaurant was clean and portions seemed fair.

Don't see the 'hype'. Tastes like out of cans or 'frozen'. Tex-mex and not true Mexican.

We came here after doing the Jack Daniel's Tour and it happened to be right across from their store they have. As you enter Christian greeted us and sat us down we were a party of 4. He took our order for drinks and then we placed our food order. Everything looked so good on the menu and love that they have pictures as well so you can get an idea on how it's served. I'm a big Chips and salsa critique and well these were a 10/10 the chips were warm and loved that it was a good sized portion for 4 people and the salsa has a small kick but very flavorful and original. Our food came out shortly after enjoying a Queso Fundido with chorizo it was pretty good. I had the order of the Chicken Flautas with a side of sour crème and salad side that was yummy. They reminded me of my mom's flautas very original and the chicken was juicy and had great seasoning and flavor. These are great for an appetizer but I had them as my meal & finished them ALL. We also had their Carne Asada Burrito that was massive but very well served with rice, beans, carne asada, sour crème and salsa. It was so good we even got one to go minus the salsa they out on top like a wet burrito. It was finger licking good! The food was delicious, they were very attentive and then after a few minutes of us being there their service picked up cause that's how good their food is. If you are in town try them out you won't be disappointed. They have TV's & some fun Mexican decorations, the restaurant is very clean and live that's it's a family owned restaurant. I will always support family owned because the food WILL be good cause it's either grandma or mom cooking can't get better than that.. in other words Come have some Mexican food!

The team clearly takes pride in the guest experience. That said, we were really looking forward to having a margarita, which made it surprising (and a bit disappointing) that no liquor was being served during our visit. There wasn't any explanation offered, which added to the confusion. It felt a little ironic given the name. Overall, it didn't ruin the experience, but it definitely stood out. We'd be open to going back and giving it another try--hopefully with margaritas on the table next time.

Most of the staff are native Spanish speakers, which adds to the real-deal experience. I love coming here with my mom for lunch or dinner. Our favorite server is Marín (pronounced mah-REEN). He always recognizes us right away and used to know our regular orders by heart--until we went back to eating KETO! It takes a little creativity, but it's definitely possible to eat healthy here. My go-to is the Chipotle Fajitas without tortillas, rice, or beans. They come out sizzling hot and loaded with flavor. I'll sometimes add a drizzle of their cheese sauce on top, and it's perfection. They recently updated the tabletops and the whole restaurant has a beautiful, authentic Mexican feel. The dining room is massive, making it ideal for large groups. I've seen them easily combine tables for parties of 15-20 people. They usually have upbeat Latin music playing, and on Friday and Saturday nights, there's live music. I'd be thrilled if they ever brought in a mariachi band! Best of all, they're open every day and stay open late. If you're craving great Mexican food, Tequila's is the place to go.

I say "experience" because this place is not just a place to get tacos. Half of the store is also a Mexican food market, which was such a fun surprise. You order up at the counter and simply find the seat that calls to you. Simply pay when you're headed on your way out. The birria pizza was so good. I will go here again just for that alone. So unique, but also delicious. The birria tacos fell a bit short of my expectations, but the burrito was fantastic. Will definitely come back because I can stress this enough, the experience alone was such a great pattern interrupt from how we typically anticipate Mexican restaurants to be. The staff was also very friendly.
