The meat was cheap and over done, not that tender and with quite a bit of gristle. You know thinly sliced steak means it's going to be tough and sadly it was. The thicker it's sliced, the more tender it should be and shows off the meat as the star it ought to be. Know that when you get the loaded nachos, they give you fried chips, not regular chips like they give you as an appetizer with salsa. This is not even specified in the menu, which is quite confusing for a few items that seem similar. They are WAY too dense and they just stick to your teeth. Ugh. I had to take them all off and just use what I thought I was getting in the first place, the regular crunchy chips & those were just right. The only good thing about it was the serving was large! They had decent but not necessarily friendly service at my party's table, we kind of felt like a burden rather than appreciated as customers. The decent thing here was one of my party had shrimp and that selection was awesome. I kind of wish I had ordered it instead. And whoever made the name of this business didn't even get the name's grammar correct, there's no apostrophe here. The interior of the building was somewhat festive. The layout coming in and out is quite narrow as people pass back & forth, kind of a crunch spot waiting and/or checking out. Needs improvement, but for rural Chapel Hill, I suppose with minimal options one has to take what they can get. Bottom line, more smiles with positive attitude as well as menu streamlining (allow options if changes requested) would go a long way to having a great experience. Who is satisfied with sub-par? This is going to sound weird for a Mexican restaurant, but order the hot wings!! Of the standard entrees you'd likely get at most Mexican places this is pretty similar, but I decided to try the wings and I'm glad I did! One word of advice though, take your own ranch. They brought out a bottle of Dollar General ranch. If you're in Chapel Hill craving wings, this is the place to get them! read more

Las Fiesta's is one of the more popular dining options in Chapel Hill. Guacamole Casero is a great way to start your meal. Entrees are a decent portion size, so come hungry. I love their food and have eaten many times however I do order lots of take out and am not happy with their switch to styrofoam containers for take out orders! The food comes out hot as it should but it then melts the styrofoam into the food and all recent studies show that styrofoam, when heated to the point of melting leaks toxic material into the food! I hope they see and take this review seriously and reconsider their take out order containers because I for one will not return if not. read more

I live in Chapel Hill and this is my favorite restaurant in the area. They don't mind that always special order. We order out weekly. They are friendly and make a good Taco Salad. I like their cheese dip. I've been to the other Mexican restaurant in town and prefer Las Fiesta's. read more

went to las fiestas in chapel hill got the 2 taco salads with ground beef and 2 fajitas jalisco mixed the shit was not even done the shrimp was rubbery like chicken was cold and not done. we spent alot of money there it was a togo order. i called them when i got home and the girl i talked to said she was the assistant manager. i told her about it and she didn't say sorry or we will make it up to you or anything. she asked the cook who was supposed to prepare it if it was cooked and she took his word over a customer who was looking right at it on there kitchen table that it was not done!! im very very upset. i will never never never never never ever go back there. i even asked to talk to the owners and she said he ain't there. i think when the owners have that many complaints he ought to follow up with the poor service people are receiving from the restaurant and the customer service as well. it was plum pukey looking. i even asked her i said i can send you the pictures i took of it and she said no.poor poor service read more

This was a great restaurant before Covid however, the last couple of times we have been in, the service is terrible, the flies are plentiful, food is not brought out in a complete order nor for the whole table. Both times, my food was served and it was over 10 minutes later for my husband to receive only the meat portion of his fajitas. We sat there over 5 more minutes for him to receive the rest of his meal including the tortillas. When we arrived, we stood at the front desk for more than 5 minutes while a young girl sat at a table behind the dining area talking on her cell phone. Will not return to this location.
