Discovered this place a few years ago when my husband needed a tooth fixed. They do great work. Both doctors I've seen are gentle and great at explaining my dental health and what I can do to maintain my gum health and avoid any more cavities. My filling is out of place/cracked AGAIN! UGH. I began visiting this dentist office since last year, they took x-rays every time I came in and suggested a lot of work to be done, including replacing old fillings using more modern material. I like the mantra, "If it's not broken, don't fix it" so I didn't bother, and there continues to be NO ISSUES with my old fillings. They also suggested a deep cleaning every time I was there. The first time the hygienist completely abandoned me in the chair as I didn't agree to the deep cleaning, so the dentist had to return 20 minutes later for the regular cleaning. Very unprofessional of her. The second time around, there was water everywhere, some even ran down my neck in back of my ear. The experience was overall very uncomfortable and messy. As for the one filling I agreed to, I had to come back twice because it had cracked/chipped less than a month later. The dentist, Dr. Fawaz, corrected it, and it was great, until now. I am currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina and do not have quick access to fix it, and now my floss is getting stuck in between and there is pain as the filing as come loose. I have had fillings before as a child and those have lasted for more than 20 years. My eating habits and dental hygiene have not worsened. This particular filling completed at Creative Smiles is less than 6 months old and is again problematic! I would not recommend this dentist office as the work/material used is sub-par. read more

Let me clarify. My husband and I had been to your office a few months prior. Your staff tried to charge us a copay even though I told them it was not correct. I just got off the phone with the insurance plan! My husband ended up paying it because he didn't want to waste time arguing with your staff. Then one of your dentists came and did an assessment. After a few minutes, someone from your billing department went over our expenses before the hygienist started our scheduled free routine cleaning. We were told my husband had cavities and needed a deep cleaning that amounted to almost $2,000. My cost was to be around $1,500. The dentist himself never even had the decency to go through that plan with me or my husband. We had to wait for the opportunity to ask him questions. So my husband decided to leave and we went to his trusted (but expensive dentist that was much farther away) and was told that he did NOT have a single cavity and he did NOT need a deep cleaning. The only reason my daughter was even at your location was because her plan was not changed to the new dentist office. I hate to think how many poor souls your office has scammed. read more

Although I have only been to Creative Smiles twice now, once for two teeth to be pulled and second, x-rays and cleaning, I would recommend Dr. Shah and the lady Dr. immensely for their professionalism. It had been a while since I had a cleaning, so I wasn't exactly looking forward to it. Additionally, when my appointment time came around, I was in a bit of a hurry... All these things can really make an experience at a dentist less than ideal, but not here! Parking was easy, and I didn't have to get lost in a maze of a medical office building like so many other dental offices -- just park and walk right up to their door. The office was very clean and nicely finished. It had a modern and welcoming feel. The staff was all very friendly, and I found my new favorite dentist of all time: Dr. Marise Sheth! She was extremely nice, easy to talk to, conscientious of patient needs, and very thorough. I told her I was in a rush, and she finished the cleaning relatively quickly (and totally without discomfort). Plus, my teeth feel cleaner than any other dental visit I've had before! Ok... 2nd trip in to have my old root canal redone. The root canal specialist who helped me was Parth Karia, he only comes in twice a month. Karen also helped assist him with this procedure. All I have to say is it was amazing. Obviously not a huge fan of getting a root canal, but this time I felt no pain. He informed me as to what he was doing step by step and there wasn't at ANY time ANY pain!!! If you need a root canal this is the place to go. Friendly staff, extremely clean, and also willing to work with patients if theres a problem. Most definitely will recommend this place to friends and family. read more

Honestly I'm overall just shocked by the gross incompetence of the dentists at this place. Or maybe I'm just the unluckiest person that has walked into this place. I've always liked going to the dentist until now. 1.) Never in my life have I suffered a locked jaw for three weeks after a simple filling procedure because the dentist was impatient and wanted me to be numb faster and decided poking me three times in the same muscle was a good idea. I could barely eat or brush my teeth without a good amount of pain, and that side of my jaw has had a noticeable clicking since then. 2.)I needed to have a filling redone the same week it was first done because they left a hole in my tooth unfilled. I knew something was wrong because it was extremely sensitive when eating or drinking anything, and almost went by unnoticed by their hygienist until I had to ask her about it. 3.)The new filling I had redone recently just started acting up again, with hot and cold sensitivity and a sharp pain when I bite down in the middle of the molar. I moved back to Hawaii, so I'll probably be seeing my old dentist again (thankfully) but it's just very poor quality on their part, and very annoying that I paid for these composite fillings that don't seem to last. 4.) They always recommend a deep cleaning to all their patients. Okay... but I wasn't numb on one side they did it and it felt exactly like their normal cleaning. I asked the hygienist and she said it was because that side wasn't "that bad". Again, hmm... So I'm not sure what's "deep" about it other than the cost to patients. Don't really care too much since my insurance covered it but deep cleanings are very expensive and it seems like a way they make money off patients. I've never been told I needed a deep cleaning from two other dentists I've seen, one of which has seen me my whole life until I moved to California. Keep I mind this place prides that they "don't work with insurance companies" ...AKA they won't try to work with what your plan can cover. So if you're trying to get the most of your dental plan I would steer clear. I thought I'd give them a few chances before leaving an honest review but it's at the point where it's becoming ridiculous. Like one mistake is forgivable but it's been a constant for me at this place. I feel a little bad since staff is very friendly, but c'mon really?! That should not be your only redeeming factor. This review is a long time coming, Christmas night 2018 I broke my back crown and had a piece of metal stabbing my gums which didn't allow me to chew or even close my mouth. It was awful. On top of that I'm a huge huge scaredy-cat and freak out with dentists. I searched through yelp trying to find a dentist that used sedation and had good reviews--that was hard to find. Thankfully I meet Dr. Shah, drove all the way down from Los Angeles after a quick phone call. I choose the sedation process and couldn't be happier, I barely remember what happened, and I felt nothing. I was freaking out about the needles but it almost non existent. This was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist. And the Dr is so kind and calming, you literally feel like you are in the hands of a father. This is by far the WORST dental office I've ever been to. I truly wanted this to be a good first time experience as the office takes my insurance (well partly I guess) and is close to home but a good experience is far from what I received today. I was told by Vanessa the "treatment coordinator" that I had "several" cavities (I've never had a cavity in my life) and then was given a quote for over $1,500 out of pocket costs to get my many cavities fix. Ya ok After being in the office for over an hour and a half I still haven't received my cleaning and had completely lost all hope that this was going to end well. I finally just got up and left after seeing this completely ridiculous and to be honest insulting quote. Patient beware! I'm going back to my original dentist in Long Beach. I will repeat what Anne C wrote about this place - horrible, horrible, horrible - Just run in the other direction. Firstly, they seem to be running out of stock of supplies and tools. In two of the 3 times that I was there, each time the assistants were running around borrowing tools and supplies from each others' stations/ some were in use on the patient. I have no idea if tools were sterilized before being shared or not, but given this kind of disorganization, I don't know if they really maintain best practices. Imagine the potential infections that would result out of this!! Secondly, the assistant that was placing my crown dropped it on the floor and wanted to put it back in my mouth without washing it! This kind of tells you that best hygienic practices are not followed. Thirdly, they overcharged me 270% for my crown work. While my insurance covers fused porcelain crowns, they made me sign a piece of paper acknowledging that the insurance only covers metallic crowns. When I contacted my insurance after the procedure, I discovered that fused porcelain crowns are indeed covered. They never submitted a claim on my insurance. I suspect the reason for this is that the insurance limits the amount of reimbursement, and they want to make more money than what is allowed. Has anyone else suffered this bate and switch at this practice? I have for the last 45 days tried to give this practice a chance to redeem itself by refunding the overcharges. Alas, I have given up on their being ashamed of their business practice. I am considering suing Amit Shah DDS and his practice for violations of consumer protection and fair trade practices. If there's anyone that wants to join me in this law suit, I am open to include you in group of plaintiff. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a dental practice, I suggest you pass on this one. read more

Don't expect them to start working on your teeth when your appointment starts. Each time I have been I have had to wait an hour to an hour and a half in the chair before they begin. The technicians also seem very inept and have a lot of trouble getting equipment to work. Be prepared to be up sold on many unnecessary procedures, and double check your bill on the way out. They like to throw anything on there they can to get your money. The Doctor, Amit Shah, is friendly and seems like he knows what he's doing. But after three visits (two cleanings and some bonding work) I will not be returning. I just can't waste three hours on a dentist appointment when it should only take one. read more

I cannot agree more with other reviews which mention how the staff is "on the upsell" making me feel more like a tool being used to access insurance money than a customer. they do good work here , but the feeling one gets while on a used car lot, overrides the quality of their work and I will not be returning. dentists are professionals and the office will need to overcome the up selling behavioral issues as it runs counter to the publics image of their profession. the office is up to date with state of the art equipment. Dr.Shah has been my dentist for seven years. The office is professional, polite and caring. The office is clean and well maintained. It's always full in the office that's how you know that they take their time to attend to everyone's personal dental concerns. Tara at reception is amazing stop in and say hello to her she has been their for over 11 years and you can tell she loves her job because she welcomes every client as if they are family. Dr. Shah has a great personality is also warm and welcoming he walks around the office when he is available to say hello and shake your hand. Horrible horrible horrible! Do not go here. I had the same experience shared by another reviewer. I made an appointment for a regular cleaning that would be covered by my insurance. I was told by the dental hygienist that I couldn't qualify for a regular cleaning because a deep cleaning was needed. I told her I couldn't afford the deep cleaning (at $500), and if they refused to do the regular cleaning I would just leave. I was then told by another employee that my insurance doesn't cover any cleanings 100% and that all cleanings would come with a co-pay regardless. I then showed him where I had been texted by THEIR OFFICE confirming that a regular cleaning would be 100% covered. He then proceeded to tell me that there really isn't such a thing as a regular cleaning. Then the hygienist came back, and said there IS such a thing as a regular cleaning, it's just that no one qualifies for one. You only qualify for one if your teeth are in perfect shape. They ended up JUST polishing my teeth. However, when I left I asked for a list of services rendered which included "Prophylaxis - adult" WHICH MEANS CLEANING! Now I'm worried my insurance is being billed for something they refused to give me, which will make me unable to get the service covered elsewhere for another six months, not to mention it's fraudulent. read more

This practice SUCKS! I received a referral from 1 800 Dentist. who stated that the name of the practice was Fullerton Smiles. The first red flag came up when I arrived to see that the name on the side of the building was Creative Smiles. The second red flag was when I sat awaiting a cleaning while I overheard the receptionist being trained on her first day (turnover is big red flag). The staff seemed completely unprofessional, and when they were unable to process my insurance card information... Well I couldn't run fast enough. I complained to 1 800 Dentist (my complaint never showed up on their website). In fact, the most recent review is negative and nearly a year old, yet these idiots are still doing business. I have an appointment on Wednesday with a practice in Placentia (each graduates of USC) I can't wait to deal with professionals. read more

When my wife and I were first looking for a dentist as a couple, I needed a lot of crowns and inlays from years of bad military dentistry and bad eating habits; she was missing two permanent teeth congenitally. The first dentist we visited specialized in cosmetic dentistry, but wanted to grind down four of her permanent teeth to put in a 6-tooth bridge. This was unacceptable to us (to the point of putting my wife in tears at the thought of having good teeth ground down), so we decided to get a second opinion from a private dentist, who so happened to be Dr, Shah. The option he offered was more expensive, but involved using braces to make more room for permanent implants for the missing teeth, without bridgework or ruining perfectly good teeth in the process. He even helped us get financing and worked with us on the price. In the end, we were able to afford the procedure, and my wife has a beautiful smile thanks to the permanent dental implants. As for me, Dr. Shah helped repair my bad teeth to the best of my expectations. It's taken years to fix problems related to nocturnal bruxims and bad soda habits, but my teeth are in better shape now than they were 10 years ago. Throughout my life, I've had issues with dentists with bad chairside manner, military dentists that did shoddy work, or dentists that don't tell you the whole story. Dr. Shah, Dr. Sihn, Dr. Jones, and the rest of the staff are probably the best dental practice I've every patronized. Even after I moved to the next county, I still visit Dr. Shah because of his professionalism, courtesy, honesty, and the quality of his work. read more

I'm so thankful I found out about dr amit shah. They have 2 offices. All staff members are so welcoming and so nice and caring. Everytime I walk into the office it feels like you are 1st priority. Everyone will make sure you are 100% comfortable. I came in the office with no appointment and came in urgent due to a tooth ache from a root canal. And if you dont have funds they are willing to work with you financially. Dr shah helped right away to make the pain go away. And I came back for a 2nd visit in the Fullerton office and it was great. Dr shah will sit and talk to you and listen about your concerns and will fix it right away so that you have no concerns. Highly recommend. I've already referred alot of it friends to check it out.
