AMLI was fine to live at for a year. The 1-star rating is due to the move-out process. Management was uncommunicative during the time leading up to my move-out date and never showed up to do the scheduled walk-though of the apartment. After returning the keys, AMLI charged my roommate and I to replace the carpet in our apartment due to stains. My roommate and I thought this was weird, since we did not remember any carpet stains that we had caused in either of our rooms prior to moving out. On top of that, we had documented that there was a small stain in one of the bedrooms from the previous resident on our move-in checklist. We had asked for photos/proof of the stain and management wasn't able to provide those. When we referenced the move-in check list, management basically said "we just go by what our contractor recommends, you can reach out to our carpet vendor yourself if you want more info" (I'll attach the email to this review). I personally don't think it's my responsibility to reach out to AMLI's contractor, but fine I did it anyway. So I'd reached out to the carpet vendor and they told me that under their contract with AMLI, they could not provide that information to residents. Imagine the frustration- things were feeling sketchy at this point. So I go back to AMLI and I ask for an itemized invoice of the carpet charges, and all they could provide me with was an estimate document that had poor grammar (I'll attach it to this review). At the end of the day AMLI would not budge on the carpet charges and my roommate and I did not want to waste anymore time disputing this. I don't know why the move-out process turned out to feel like a scam, but I would NOT recommend living here after going through that. The maintenance crew was top notch though. Have lived here for 6 years and have never really had a good experience with the office. Especially front office worker Samantha. She literally hates everyone. Avoid her at all costs she will ruin your day. Wouldn't move in here again. *Edit* also they hold your mail hostage. Packages get delivered by Amazon(not just once, every time) at the office at 6 pm or sometimes they let the drivers in after 6. I went there yesterday to grab a package that I couldn't wait on and it arrived past 6. After it arrived I ran over to the office. It was only 605. Was told that I couldn't get my mail even though DRIVER WAS STILL INSIDE PACKAGE ROOM. then I proceeded to get bullied by Samantha and treated like a child... Sad sad lady she is... read more

Don't listen to the naysayers. We have lived here for more than 2 years, and just signed to live here for another year. I've had 12-24 hour turnaround time for every maintenance request. The staff is always nice, and respond promptly and professionally to all issues. Off-duty police officer lives on site, and he does not mess around. Energy efficient units; LEED certified if that means anything to anyone. I live in a top floor 2 BR, and usually have electric bills around $50-75 each month. Internet options are limited to ATT or Dish. Fiber cables are here, so the bandwidth is pretty fast. My download speed is more +100Mbs. I see a lot of complaints for valet trash. Here's the deal. It's $20 per month, no opting out. But most modern apartments provide this service now anyway. Trash comes Sunday through Thursday nights between 7-9pm. Taking out the trash is easy on the weekends (Friday, Saturday) if you need to. Just walk your ass outside. Dumpster is centrally located. Pools are always nice and clean. Residents are friendly. Very family oriented community. It's across the street from a legit canal and lake, with a 1.3 mile circle. Great location! Reverse commute from virtually anywhere in DFW. There are 0-1 traffic lights between the apartment community and 114, G Bush, or 635. 12 mins from DFW airport. We are brand loyal to AMLI now. They pay attention to the details. read more

I've finally found the AMLI apartment community with all of the amenities I want, yard and all!! (Now let's work on bringing hot tubs to all of the properties). Absolutely love the AMLI family and I couldn't imagine going to a property under another company! I was searching for a apartment home with a small yard and was becoming discouraged when I found none in my budget around the time in which I needed to move, but thanks to AMLI they helped me out! I was at an AMLI property (Las colinas) and LOVED it but I really wanted the whole shibang, amenities and a personal yard for my dog and myself. AMLI Las Colinas doesn't have yards but they were kind enough to offer me a transfer to another AMLI community before my lease was up, if I found something I liked. Off to Escena I went and that's where I met Marielle and Mallory! I told them that I was looking for an apartment with a yard but I didn't see any online and that I was starting to get discouraged. WELL GUESS WHAT!? These ladies went above and beyond and called me within a week the moment a unit became available!!! I had the opportunity to tour the apartment and property a few times before making a final decision and it wasn't just the apartment and yard that had me smitten. The entire experience over the first week was pretty darn awesome. I met almost everyone that worked at that property within 3 days time. The STAFF was so incredibly kind, the residents that came into the office to pick up their "secured packages" in the Luxor room (fancy) stopped to chat with the leasing consultants (Marielle, Mallory, and Jordan) and introduced themselves to me, the maintenance crew that came in had me laughing so hard as I cracked a couple of jokes about how needy I was going to be with requests, and even the property managers CONNIE and JACK were kind enough to thank me for being a continued resident with AMLI for so many years. It's true what they say about employers, employers don't leave company's, they leave bad bosses. Well the same goes for apartment communities. I'm sad that I left AMLI Las Colinas but thankful that I'm with another AMLI property and found such a great group of people at AMLI Escena!!! Note: I was reading all of the reviews about these penalties and fees and considering this is my 3rd rodeo with an AMLI property I'm fairly educated on the process. It's simple really, your contract and your first "fee" will tell you what the rules are. (Trust me I know because it's happened to me a few times - which was my own darn fault). * valet trash service - don't leave nasty trash unbagged or out after ours (don't be gross) I was fined for this one because I didn't follow the rules and left a bag outside my door without the trash bin. Welllll my bag was leaking and I didn't know that. That would explain why they require the bag to be tied up securely and in the bin. (Learned my lesson). * pick up after your dog (trust me if someone catches you - you will get fined) I was fined for both of these and technically the dog poop one was waived because I didn't have a bag on me and I had to go get a bag from my apartment. I went back to pick up the dog mess, but the person that told on me didn't see that part. (The front office took my word for it and waived the fee - they're humans just like us). I hope this review paints a much better picture of the community and you check it out for yourself. Very nice apartment and great community. Quite complex with outstanding amenities. My unit had a large garage and was better priced than other communities in the area. Apartment staff has always been very helpful and responsive to any questions/issues I've had. I never hear neighbors to, which is rare for other apartments. AMLI also has some nice features, like 48 hour maintenance service guarantee, Amazon/other package lockers, and I'm just finding out a move out cleaning service (really, really nice feature so you don't have to worry about it), plus discounts at several restaurants. read more

Bad management. They charged me for trash bags placed next to the bin as I had more than 1 bag. Trash guys dont show up on weekends and they expect me to have just 1 bag !!! Don't apply here if you are not 100% sure you want to live here. I applied and they right away charged me the application fee and the deposit of $300. There was no receipt or approval letter or anything. You only have 24 hrs to change your mind.. which would be nice if they let you know you were approved lol. When I tried to talk to Jordan and Colleen they basically told me too bad, you can't get your money back even if you decide not to live here. Sorry. Seems super sketchy to me not to send the correct paperwork... After reading several reviews, it seems they don't have the most professional staff. They also have coil stoves. So loud during spring! Brightside landscaping here 4-5 days a week for all of April and still 2x a week now despite nothing even given a chance to grow. For whatever reason, they leaf blow inside halls and semi closed spaces. I've heard several residents have to come out and yell at the workers to stop. It's so loud that residents have to close their doors even during amazing 65-70 degrees weather during spring. I hope the worker is wearing ear protection because it's VERY loud. Sounds like a mo-ped is outside your window, accelerating but going no where for hours. This isn't even addressing their constant weed eating at nothing. AMLI was supposed to be environmentally friendly, but this constant carbon emitting small engine use for the worker to waste time is NOT that. read more

7/2/18 The mowers/landscaping company have left my gate open 3 times in the last two weeks. I called the office promptly and of course had to leave a message and of course no one called me back. I have called the office every time it has happened, about 6 times in a little over a year and no one calls me back. I have to keep calling until someone answers the phone or I finally give up and go to the office. But nothing gets done about the gate being left open. I come home today and it was left ajar about a foot. Fortunately I got to the gate before one of my puppies did. Last week one of my pups got out because the gate was left open and I spent 30 minutes chasing her down and in great fear of her running out into Royal Lane and getting ran over because she was chasing some people on bikes. Mine are 5 and 7 lb dogs, but my neighbors have a Siberian Husky and an Australian Shepherd and of course their gate was left open about 6 months ago also and I heard cars screeching and honking and I was able to round them up and put them back in their backyard. I don't think it's asking too much for the landscape manager/boss/supervisor to call me and promise me that his crew will not leave the gate open anymore. I doubt if the office has even called them! If anything happens to one of my YORKIES there will be hell to pay! read more

I praised this apartment complex for everything but this time I have to say & tell the absolute truth. For both new comer & current residents, along with other I plan on sharing this experience with. I used to praise Jack and realized that he never really did the work and I only saw him in passing thats one. So therefore he gives the perception that he runs a tight ship laid-back very good environment and office when he really doesn't run the office he has everyone else to run the office. Which I do realize his management however he is never seen or heard from case in point I called several times back in May and asked to speak to him still to this day I have yet to speak to him I also have requested to speak to him as of now still yet have to speak to him I will show proof of what I'm talking about he has stated in an email which of my personal emails that I want to show awesome I have video of how AMLI does not stand behind their 24 hour guarantee which case in point I will have proof and show you that as well. I only put out the facts and truth so therefore this would be realistic and not one sided to where they can say that this is a lie and this is not a factual truth so I have the proof and this is it. Also they employ people that are fixing on your apartment that are drug users and if they even did a drug check even today they would find this out so now that I have proof I planned on taking this further up and letting everyone see what the true Amli really is. However the staff the have in there now does not fit what Amli stands for or about. As I had said before I've seen people come & go as far as the leasing agents are concerned. They are completely horrible have attitudes, for get to even put in service requests & don't do what they say there going to do. They really need to be re-evaluated & fired instead of giving chance after chance. Being nice & trying to help is one thing but keeping employees that can't do there job correctly or have the wrong demeanor don't need to be around. Now with that being said I strongly encourage people to Record everything and get proof of everything.Let me explain the situation while doing so please remember I gave them such high praise so this is not a revenge or just to be mad. My payment came back so I had a return check. During this time my grandmother was on hospice & dying so I had to take my mother to see her mother before she died. Unfortunately during that time she became sick herself so I was late & out of town & unable to pay. So I stayed in contact with the office & even tried to talk to Jack which ofcorse I never received a call back. Now they want to evict me & my elderly mother. Not to mention I got rushed to the hospital and had to stay because I found out that I had with contracted sepsis which is deadly however of course Jack which is the manager did not care please please if you love yourself your love ones in life does happen do not move to Amli any of them corporate is the same way they do not care they do not have feelings and there's no such thing as common courtesy any longer. There's even an older man that walks his dog around here all the time that will state and can back everything I'm saying because he is moving out himself in October him his wife his dog and his daughter and they have been here like me more than 3 to 4 years please do not stop at Amlia At Escena or any other Amli property. Along with their HVAC guy being on drugs and I'm sure has not been drug tested if they try to randomly drug test him buy hair he would absolutely fail this is why my air conditioner was not working properly. Don't walk run when you're here run away do not build it out do not come here. Please look at the pictures read the text and emails that were sent leaving the pregnant lady that is in the office hoping leasing has a bad attitude she wants you to have a HVAC license even when you know your air condition is not working yes I have that on recording as well and I have witnesses to her saying that but again family hires these type of people and they're OK with it. read more

EDIT** TO YOUR RESPONSE AMANDA I request all of my packages to be delivered to my door. HOW COME THEY NEVER COME TO MY DOOR? Also most of all we deserve an apology for Samantha's attitude. You never even got back to my boyfriend and he's contacted HR a week ago. I called your corporate office just now and left a message as well. -- *WARNING* If you do not want your package held hostage make sure to get it sent to your friends' or familys' house so you can get to it. They only open the mail room during leasing office hours which are 10-6. I go to work at 9 and get home around 5:45, if there's traffic sometimes I can't make it For some reason the delivery drivers especially lately get to our neighborhood right before 6pm. It's absolutely inconvenient because then the leasing office manager proceeds to let the driver into the mail room even if it's already 6pm. So then my package is locked up and literally held hostage. I can't get to it until my day off on Sunday. Sometimes I order things that I need right away. I feel that it is extremely unfair that I can't get to something that I bought with my money. And then WHO KNOWS what's happening to my package while it's sitting in the mail room all week. Other people going in there to find their package and not to mention it's always a mess in there. It takes me at least 20 minutes to find my package every time I'm able to get in there. Also, what is the point of a luxer code when there aren't even lockers for your packages? Anyone who lives here could go in there and take any package. Every other apartment I've lived at, if there is a code access, it's always 24/hr and separated by personal lockers. If there isn't a code access, the mail room is never accessible to the public but only the manager with a key is allowed and you had to show your ID for them to grab it for you. There was one incident where my boyfriend was waiting for a computer part for his job all day. He tracked the package every minute and it even showed the route the delivery driver was going in. We could see that he was in the neighborhood and it was 5:58pm. So then my boyfriend quickly walked to the leasing office to catch the package before the office closed up. He gets there, the door is already locked but we can see that the delivery driver is in there unloading the packages, and the employee helping clients still. My boyfriend knocked on the door and they just stared at him like an animal. At least come to the door and see what he wants. We understand it may have already been 6pm but we are residents here who have never caused trouble and always pay our rent on time. he definitely doesn't get deserved to be treated like that. And why let the driver unload packages there when you are already closed up? The driver should go deliver the packages to the units or take them back to the distribution center! Makes absolutely no sense. She eventually let him in but said a very snarky comment along the lines of 'this is your ONE time courtesy!' Excuse me.. I don't know who she thinks she is but we live here. We have a right to get our packages when they are delivered. And if it's after closing time, she could have been a decent human being and came to the door to explain that she's not allowed to let him in or whatever. Maybe we wouldn't have been so appalled if it weren't for her bad attitude. Not to mention there were other clients still in there AND the delivery driver. I never usually write reviews but it's been very frustrating for me just trying to get ahold of my packages. I always get my package sent to my sisters house from now on. The one-star in my review is for the maintenance staff because they are amazing. Escena is located in a really nice suburban neighborhood but management is terrible. We just relocated to state of Texas and Escena was our top pick. Escena had a few unit available but many had some floor designs that didn't work with our vision. We decided on the 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit with the bathroom entrance outside of the bedroom, so that if we have guest they will not have to enter through the bedroom. On our actual move in day, our selection was unlivable. Our unit was infested with bugs which was not only off putting but highlighted poor preparation of our arrival by Escena. This issue also showed that, while in a pandemic, extra care in cleaning the unit was not done. When alerting the staff about the bug issue, The head of maintenance lied and said it was just ants. the bugs were not ants. The community property manager became aware of the infestation and decided to change us to an unit with the bathroom inside of the bedroom (not our request) and attached garage below the unit, but informed us we had to extended our 12 month lease to 13th month. At this point, again noting that we relocated to Texas, our hands were tied. We essentially were homeless and needed a place to live. We did not want to extended our lease, but we did not have another option as our moving company had arrived with our belongings. So we moved in. Fast forward to dwelling in this space, I have put in repeated maintenance orders which were still not fixed when we moved out. Furthermore, The community also has a lot of action in the parking parking with children playing and people exercising or walking their dogs in the path of traffic or directly in front of our unit constantly. This became a safety issue for us. I contacted the property manager about this issue on numerous occasions, references safety but they stated via email that they could not do anything about it through email. The complaint was about safety, so in essence the property manager wasn't concerned about our safety. I complained because when my wife would enter and exit the unit there was always a stranger greeting her like they lived there. The individuals who would do this daily were not our neighbors and had no business loitering in front of our unit. No one, especially women, should have to worry about entering and exiting their place of living worrying about who is going to greet them when they open the door. Please note, the term "greet" is not being used in a welcoming manner. Due to management not addressing the safety and loitering issue, living in this safe became unsafe. Upon moving out, we have learned of a carpet charge. There is no reason for this change. The carpet has normal wear from contestant foot traffic as the carpet is located in the bedroom. Again note, we were originally selected a unit with the bathroom outside the bedroom where carpet was. There is no intentional damage to the carpet. There are no rips, tears, stains or even bleach on the carpet. When alerting the community about the charges they replied stating that the charge is from a vendor and they could not give a full explanation. Without an explanation, this leads us to believe and take for fact that the charges are not valid and should be removed. With the issues at this establishment, I do not recommend AMLI at Escena. There are other apartment communities in the area that will render better service for tenants. read more

I moved into a one bedroom, one bath at Amli at Escena in May of 2014. The sales associate that I was initially working with was great. My dissatisfaction comes after the sales phase, once I have moved in. Initially, the complex looks nice; however the cabinets and appliances are cheap and easily break. When a maintenance issue arise, it is ridiculously hard to schedule an appointment, and once you do it's a 50/50 chance that they show up. You can call and try to speak with someone in the main office, but they are rarely helpful and if you have an issue their resolution is just an apology. There is no real desire to resolve any issue. In addition, the staff in the office is often rude and short with you. Their ultimate goal seems to be to get you out of the office. Finally, while the hard wood floors look nice, they are noisy. If you are not on the top level you will hear everything your upstairs neighbor does. For the amount of money you pay per month at Amli @ Escena, I do not recommend moving in here. In response to Amanada's comment below; yes the property manager did reach out to me to discuss the issues above. While the property manager was very kind and seemed concerned, she mainly just had me restate the above. There was no remedy to the above issues, just a conversation that did not lead to any solution. read more

I've been leasing with AMLI at Escena for about 3-4 years total. I moved back here in 2019 because I honestly enjoyed living at the property. I've never had any major complaints with the property or agents except for inconsiderate tenants above. I also found roaches and ants in my unit but chose to not complain about it as it was something I could easily get taken care of myself. As of recently, I've had the MOST HORRIBLE experience with one of the agents. My lease is coming to an end and I take full responsibility for sending in my notice a week or so late. I've been in contact with the office in search of moving to a different unit or transferring my lease to a sister property. I understand they are following policy but I am very disappointed as they are not willing to work with their residents through this pandemic, especially with hours/pay being cut. I am being charged a crazy amount of money for my final rent which does not make sense to me. Due to the lack of communication, I was told in September that they would get back to me with a month to month pro-rated charge but was not aware that there will be a month to month fee on top. I didn't hear back back from them since that day. I've been going back and forth with the leasing agent... no empathy being shown towards the situation nor have I heard back since the last email I've sent on 10/26/2020. I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone after my experience. I hope to hear back from a higher up as I am highly frustrated. read more

I am so disappointed in this apartment complex. I really wanted to like it here! The wood floors are nice, but it allows you to hear everything in the unit above you. You hear EVERYTHING. When they flush their toilet, it sounds like a waterfall. I can hear their conversation most nights...crazy! It's hard to get a good night's sleep living here. When I've put in work orders, they cancel them with no apparent reason, then don't even notify you. This has happened multiple times living here. The yards include free maintenance...but most of them are flooded due to rain and sprinkler run off. There is a bug problem. Even after having the apartment sprayed, I'm still having a lot of spiders, ants, and silverfish. When you call the office they seem really pleasant at first, but become put out very fast. I really wish that I had something positive to say...but I can't come up with a thing. I can't wait until my lease is up! read more

I just moved out of here after a 12 month lease, I enjoyed my stay here for the most part. Very affordable without sacrificing safety or amenities. The staff is well above the standard, even for luxury apartment living, I wish I could have taken them with me, they really made me feel at home at all times. The pool area, man it's not only a sight to see, but it's also VERY well maintained. The grounds in general are amazing and very well landscaped. Stephanie has been so friendly and goes above and beyond to help me with anything when I need it! Moved out after 3 years and will not recommend anyone. Below are the reasons: 1. Ever changing trash policy, two bags were allowed but we were still charged because the second bag was placed next to the bin, they mentioned we should have placed it on the top of the first bag, nowhere it was mentioned 2. Leasing office employees are ever changing and the new ones are not atall helpful 3. We got our new car stolen from the apartment complex and the leasing office employees expression was totally cold, she told us that they cannot do anything, there is no camera on the premises and this apartment has open entry so anyone can drive through 4. A neighbor had a camera installed in their balcony which was pointing to the car Parking, we requested the leasing office to get the footage from that camera, they told us they cannot as it is personal property, and installing cameras are not allowed, so this camera is installed pointing towards the common area for months which is against the policy but no action was taken? 5. When we renewed our lease after 2 years, asked for cleaning and they told us that we have to request it within 1 month of the lease renewal, and they cannot take the request on the date when we were renewing (which was a month before the lease end date), fast forward 2 months, we went again to request the cleaning, they said they cannot do the cleaning as it's already 1+ month from the lease renewal date 6. When we requested move-out, they categorically said that we had to clean it thoroughly otherwise the deposit will be deducted, when we went to hand-over the keys, another leasing assistant told us they actually have a move-out cleaning process in which they deduct a fixed fee and you don't have to bother about cleaning, this option was never given to us. 7. They don't allow pre-term movement within AMLI properties, even if you are opting for higher rent, which is as per policy, but still a huge drawback. There are comparable apartment complexes in the area with better facilities, do your research before you commit for this high price. read more

Pros: 1. Peace and Quiet- it's so nice to be in an apartment where you don't hear your neighbors. We've lived in about 6 different apartments and this one seems to be the quietest. It's really nice! 2. The leasing and office staff is really responsive. They are quick to reply and follow-up and they truly want to help you. Shoutouts to Marielle and Mallory who helped us through it all :) 3. The property is quite pretty. The business center and gym are very nice and the overall look of the property is picturesque and inviting. 4. Parking is plentiful and easy! I've lived at other complexes where tow trucks prowl the property, but here there is plenty of room for your car(s) and guests' cars. Cons: 1. The only con seems to be the maintenance. When we first arrived, the apartment was not move-in ready. The cabinets had not been repaired, the shower head was missing, the floors and kitchen were filthy, and the yard was a muddy mess (to name a few things). The yards seem to be a muddy issue for a lot of the residents so if you do get a yard, please realize that your yard may consist of wet mud. The office staff was very responsive though and they resolved our concerns. Apart from our individual unit, I noticed when we first toured the unit that the pool was dirty, but I figured it just hadn't been cleaned that week yet. Fast forward to our move in and living here for a few weeks and the pool still hadn't been cleaned... It was finally cleaned but it seemed very odd and unhygienic that it was left dirty for so long. Not sure if that's a regular occurrence or if they just clean it less frequently with the change of seasons. Overall, we are happy and content here and are enjoying our residency. I've lived here since 2012 and have loved every minute of it. I've lived in apartments my entire life and this is by far the absolute best! The staff is exceptional. I stop by the office quite a bit to pick up packages and such and have never encountered anything other than helpful smiling faces. Katrina and even the new manager and staff are great! My apartment is quiet. I'm on the top floor. The insulation is not great but all my neighbors are considerate and seem to be working professionals. I've not had any maintenance issues lately other than a few light bulbs to be changed lately but the maintenance staff is top notch too! After 3 years I'm moving for work and I hate to go. I'm staying this community since 2016 and renewed my lease for fourth time this year in June. The reason we liked this community was because of floor plans which are really spacious and bright. However, we saw degrading quality of overall maintenance of the apartments. The services offered either are poor in quality or keep changing without intimations. I had notified leasing office that the carpet quality is very poor and there are bubbles in carper floor. So it required either replacement or repair. Plus I requested whether we can get the walls painted since the kids have marked some of the walls with pencils/crayons. I had specifically mentioned that I would renew my lease only if these things are taken care of. And these were mentioned in email as well. The mistake I did was to renew my lease with the trust that leasing office would complete what was promised in a month's time. However, there was no response once I renewed my lease and all the requests were subsequently turned down through email communication. I would not have renewed my lease had the office refused to take care of the changes before renewal date. Out of frustration, when I asked to end my lease, I'm asked for paying full rent for two months and lease breaking charge as well. This is really bitter experience. The staff would agree to something and then later on change their earlier commitment stating that the rule have been changed. And on top of this all, the staff keeps changing every now and then without proper knowledge transfer. And the staff members do not seem to have adequate knowledge for most of the requests as well. I want to check how much I'll be charged for exit process. Because there is normal wear and tear of equipment, walls etc in the apartment - because these people absolutely never bothered to respond to our requests. I had in-fact brought some of the construction issues to their notice - because there are cracks in walls and pillars at some places. Even those things are comfortably ignored. In my opinion, these apartments are not worth the premium rent they charge for. read more

Very disappointed. We moved in just 2 weeks ago and seeing roaches from day one. And we did not know that they have trash compactor in between residents buildings and it's exactly in front of my patio. If I open patio doors in the evenings , we get mosquitoes inside.. and when there is wind , trash stinks and we can't open doors.. and in the Weeknds we frequently see ppl dumping trash scenes in front my apt.. .. I feel like I'm living in trash.. so disappointed and frustrated. We made 1 year agreement. Worst decision I made. Please think before coming here read more

Update: I want to say how unprofessional the management in this place is. I got a random phone call saying a lady who barely speaks English came in & told people she was living in my apt # and she would be paying the rent from now on. I told her I have no idea what she is talking about. I had to prove my innocence even though it could have been a mix up from the beginning since she didn't speak much English. Later, they found out it was a different apt and didn't even apologize for the situation of NOT believing me. While I was at the office explaining that situation, the manager told me a neighbor complained I have many guests in and out all hours of the night. First of all, I am new to Dallas, so I don't even know more than 2 people here. I am usually in bed by midnight. Even if these ghost companions were true, I pay rent here. I don't make noise especially since I am by myself here all the time! What is their problem? They treat me like I'm living in their house and I'm a child. They were mistaken before and I know for a fact they are mistaken again. It's like I'm guilty until proven innocent because I'm in my 20's. I'm sure they don't treat anyone older like this. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a place before! So, if you're young you should look elsewhere. * * * I live in a one bedroom apt by myself. I have only one car. Yet, I am not offered one free parking space stated in the lease. They said, since the entire complex lot is full & that I cannot find parking, I have to pay. I don't care how little or how big the cost is, I should be allowed one space. Why pay $1100+ a month? Ridiculous. Also, when I moved here in the beginning, the maintenance man harassed me, resulting in him in being fired. I was scared out of my mind from that incident & now they expect me to walk quite a distance to my apt (even if I paid for parking) at 2am when I get off work. I don't have peace of mind. There have been a few break-ins as well, even though they have "patrol" (which no one has ever seen). It is not gated, so anyone can come in & out, which apparently the robbers helped themselves. Great patrol, I see they're really doing their job. Great management, I see how much they care. Yes, it is aesthetically appealing, but you'll regret living here. I've lived here a little over a year and I have zero complaints about the neighborhood or safety around the complex...so in that regard this place gets 5 stars. However, my fridge has broken 4 times and each time management has been quick to perform the same task of replacing the machine defrosting timer.....but 4 times performing the same fix? two of those times I easily lost significant money in groceries. Literally a waiting game until it fails again. Then my tub was clogged twice, the second time maint just left a bottle of drain-o and the problem remained. I snaked it myself bc I had pretty much had it. I am also beginning to see why people have a problem with the quality in which these places were built. The air vents make a very annoying sound, and someone who likes to wear cement shoes has moved in upstairs and it's driving me insane. Sounds like a giant pacing at all hours of the day and night . So, now you have the good and the bad. 6/24/2015: I need to update my review/rating. Everything I said above concerning my the appliances is true but today I had a very positive experience here. My truck broke down and I was trying to diagnose the issue and maintenance guy came over to help out. We weren't able to get it going but he helped me move it where the tow could get to it better. Unfortunately I am moving due to work location but I think all the complaints some of us have had are just part of apt living. I'm pretty sure having someone help you out that doesn't have to is definitely not commonplace. I recommend this place! read more

A year later and the complex has gotten worse. The staff are not kind to residents, and the manager is just plain rude. They do not enforce the rules. Laundry hanging out on patios, trash and boxes and used as storage, not outdoor space. Dog poop everywhere and lately, no trash in the dumpster area is being picked up or taken care of. Bags and bags of it are 6 feet high and now spilling out through the shoot area and doors. I've had some billing issues and had to go to the Dallas Amli main office for help. I plan on sending them a photo of our trash mountain I took this morning. I'm moving in 3 weeks and it can't come soon enough. It's sad, because I loved it here when I first moved in. I don't know why they let this happen. But, they charge way too much for what you get. read more

Noise. Noise. Noise. My apartment is near the pool and every weekend has been a nightmare to me. I have been waken up at 4AM by drunk people who were talking and laughing loudly near the pool. I have been constantly disturbed by loud music different people play during each weekend. During the past month or so, I had to call police four times with four different noise complaints. The office workers, depending on who you are talking to, can be really defensive and protective about these unlawful behaviors. They claim that they "have done everything for you", and somehow I still have to suffer from the same issue over and over. They can easily enter into an argument with me, and eventually I feel that it is sometimes actually better for me to suck it up myself, so at least I don't have to deal with their attitudes towards me. This place is not livable by any standard. I'm counting the days until I can move out. Re: Amanda J below, your office is not working with me. They actually just had an argument with me a hour ago. I have lived at AMLI @ Escena for almost 3 years. I am the first person who lived in my apartment. I have to agree with some of the other reviews, the apartment is cheaply made. I live on the second floor and the upstairs neighbor stomps around at all times during the night and early morning. I have complained to the lease office several times with no resolution. I now feel since I complained about the upstairs neighbor, he is purposely stomping around and slamming cabinet doors just to spite me. I renewed my lease because it's close to much job which I know regret. No matter how many times you complain to the management nothing is done. I wonder how they will feel waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning due to a loud inconsiderate neighbor. read more
