My partner and I were a little nervous to try Italian food out of a ghost kitchen, but they left us wanting to return. We got their bruschetta with burrata pesto and arugula, spicy rigatoni added chicken parmigiana, focaccia mortadella sandwich, house made meatballs with ricotta and a cannolo sicilia. Every bite was delicious, thank you so much. Make sure to get garlic bread when ordering their meatballs so you can scoop some of that delicious ricotta with the sauce, soo good! OMG, this place is sooooooo authentically delicious! My husband was a bit skeptical when I told him I was picking up takeout from a restaurant with no store front. ( He is a snob about Italian food because it's one of his favorites) But after we tried it ( we had the bolognese and sausage and mushroom pastas), we couldn't stop making mmmm mmmm sounds with each bite. It completely reminded me of Italy!! And if course it does because the sweet woman who took my order had the most beautiful Italian accent. While I could go on and on about the food, I do need to mention the delightful service from the owner and their employee. So welcoming and when they thought they made a mistake on my order ( which they didn't), the owner called me to apologize and see if I wanted to come back. That's definitely 5 star service! Two last comments. 1) you CAN NOT find high quality and plentiful authentic Italian food in the South Bay ( or possibly in LA at this price point 2) the homemade tiramisu is to die for!!! We were so stuffed from dinner but glad we forced ourselves to eat the dessert. ( if you are like me and prefer the ladyfingers in your tiramisu to be non-soggy, then you will love theirs! We had ordered for a lunch meeting at our office a few months ago and everyone loved it. I decided to cater for Halloween from them. Their service, responsiveness and the food were absolutely amazing! We ordered tagliatelle bolognese, chicken scaloppini, focaccia mortadella pistachios sandwiches, garlic bread and meditarian salad. Everything was so tasty and delicious. Everyone at the party raved about the taste and how authentic it was. Their tiramisu was icing on the cake and one of the best we've had. Not too sweet or overbearing, just the right balance. Cinzia and her husband were so gracious and we truly appreciate everything they did to make our Halloween party for our guest so memorable. This place does not have a sit in location. It's more of a take-out spot, but they are open late and also cater. I ordered one of their sandwiches and at first, felt it was over priced, but when I got it, it was HUGE! So delicious, flavorful, and worth every penny. If I was a food critic, I'd give this place a zero. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. Noodles were not the best definitely not handmade like they claim. Sauce was terrible, tasted like just canned tomato sauce no flavor. The chicken was worst of it all. I know food well enough because I work in food and I specialize in Italian cuisine to say this chicken cutlet was not fresh. I know Tyson chicken patties when i see it. Absolutely delicious and authentic spot! My fiancé and I got the prosciutto sandwiches with burrata, which were phenomenal, and hit the spot! My son got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the fact that they use dark meat is a huge plus! The kitchen is inside the picnic food community kitchen thing on Hawthorne. I think ordering directly from Amo is the move if you're picking up so you don't have to pay the fees. The woman who picked up the phone was absolutely delightful! Real Italian. On par with the food I had when in Rome, at the beautiful little sandwich shop called the Angry Pig. I had two sandwiches, the Focaccia paradise and the Zingara. The focaccia is fat, warm and soft with the perfect bubbly skin. The meats, the proccuito, are real proccuito not what you get from the grocery store. Beautiful, juicy tomatoes soaked in oil and one with a pesto made from pistachio. The prince of nuts. This place must become popular and it must survive. Give them your patronage. Decided to order pickup for an evening meal with my family and tried most of the pastas, the mortadella sandwich, burrata and a side of focaccia. Pretty incredible and large portions. Really delicious and excellent quality, especially for the price. The value is insane given the level of expertise the food demonstrates. I ordered through DoorDash. I wanted Italian and thought it looked good enough, but didn't have many expectations since I've been burned by DD restaurants before. What I actually got was amazing and far exceeded my expectations! I would never have expected something of this caliber to be in Lawndale, but I'm so glad it is! I had the garlic bread and lasagna, with a side Caesar salad. I ate the salad first and was really impressed--I genuinely believe it is one of the best classic Caesar's I've ever had. Salad came dressed, even though the description said it would be on the side. Not too big of a deal since I ate it pretty quickly after it arrived, and romaine holds up decently well, so it wasn't all soggy by the time I got to it, but I think I would have liked it to come on the side just in case the delivery took longer or I had to wait to eat. Dressing was in the perfect amount, in addition to being delicious and homemade (and I'm super picky about my Caesar dressing!). Homemade croutons sliced thin so they don't break your teeth, which I really appreciate. The garlic bread also went above and beyond--it's not that cheesy, but is very garlicky in the best way possible. Great bread, great olive oil, and a little crumble of cheese on top Lasagna was also really good--The tomato sauce was excellent, and the flavors of the beef ragu, tomato sauce, and béchamel all blended together beautifully. Only critique is that the pasta:filling ratio was a bit higher than I preferred; I think it could stand to cut out one of the pasta layers/roll the pasta thinner. But still, it tasted really good! I'm really only being this picky because everything else about the lasagna and the other food items was perfect. My daughter fell in love with Amo Italia after ordering UberEats during a brief stay at the hospital. After a follow up procedure she insisted we order again. Being from the East Coast (currently living in south OC) we are super picky about our Italian food. So much so much we purchased a Yeti cooler specifically to transport 45lbs of Italian sausage we bring back from NYC. That said, the food is great! Vincenza was super accommodating in terms of our dietary restrictions. (My daughter does not eat dairy). This is a must try just be specific as to what you may need. They had some great promotions too so I ordered chicken parmigiana, penne pasta with pink sauce and shrimp, rosemary focaccia, and Cesar salads. This food was absolutely delicious. The only issue was I think the focaccia was plain not rosemary but it tasted freshly made! The chicken parm and pasta was excellent! This isn't even a "restaurant." I picked up my order from a Door Dash/Uber Eats type pick up station which seemed to be under construction. I got my order home and was sadly disappointed when I opened it. First of all, the $2.00 Garlic Bread was a tiny, kid-sized, soggy slice of bread. The $6.00 Bruschetta was the same one tiny slice of bread with some cherry tomatoes on top. We ordered 3 different pastas, all of which were flavorless. I don't just mean no salt, I mean as bland as bland could be. The Caesar salad came with a teaspoon sized container of dressing. The only decent thing we got was the chicken parm that came on top of the flavorless spaghetti. My family was really disappointed as well. I should be refunded all of the $96 I paid, which includes the mandatory tip. There was no service, I don't know how they have the audacity to make you include a tip. I thought I had found a new local spot for good pasta, but no such luck. And don't even think about parking, there isn't any. Don't waste you time or money with this place. read more

We have only ordered takeout from here. The first few times were meh but we decided to give it another chance. It wasn't terrible, but definitely could use some improvement. We ordered the spicy rigatoni and tortellini with vodka sauce. Disappointed to discover they were basically the same sauce, but one was spicier. Both were tasty, just redundant. We also ordered the wild mushroom pizza and this was NOT good. There was so much cheese that the pizza was sticking to the box. Also, it was VERY undercooked. I put it in the oven for 10 minutes but it was still doughy. It reminded me of store-bought pizza dough--definitely not the airy, crispy crust I was expecting. The mushrooms were cut in large, thick pieces and there were only creminis and no other variety; this could definitely use some finesse. The meatballs were ok--I felt like they didn't have much flavor in terms of herbs or other seasoning, but we did eat them. The sauce was a little watery (there were pools of water on our plates from the sauce) but the flavor was fine. Based on our experience I'm not sure we would order takeout from here again.
