Be patient. The food takes a little while, but there's even a sign on the wall reminding you that it's made with love... and it truly is! The flavors here are incredible. The mole was rich, complex, and deeply flavorful, and the chicken literally fell off the bone (I don't think I've ever seen that before). The carnitas California burrito was phenomenal with melt-in-your-mouth carnitas, and both the carne asada and chicken tacos were tender and full of flavor. The tortillas taste handmade with that perfect corn flavor and spot on consistency. And the horchata was delicious too!!! I'm honestly sad this spot is all the way in Phoenix. The hand painted wall murals and seating are festive and tastefully artsy. Got the $6 Huarache and it was the perfect size & price for lunch. Take-home "Family Deal" was seriously the best $35 I have spent all year! No joke! So tasty, flavorful, generous portions, and pricing!! This is authentic family-recipe type of foods. Amor A La Mexicana Restaurant is a casual Mexican Restaurant located in Glendale not too far from the Metro Center Area. You order and pay at the counter type of place. I only noticed soft beverages in the refrigerator. They tell me that their specialty are their tacos on hand made tortillas. They also offer popular Mexican entrees that are reasonably priced (most around $10.99@ at this time). We tried chicken, beef cheek, pastor tacos, chile colorado, filete a la plancha and everything was flavored well and was good. BUT OH MY GOSH the salsas were AMAZING! Consistently good food. Can not go wrong with anything you order. Still defend their shrimp tacos. Their carne aside fries are amazing too. The chicken quesadilla is also surprisingly good. What really surprises me though is how good their rice + beans are. Our family always orders 2 sides of each. The salsa bar is great too. Service is always kind and friendly and considerate. A good friend of mine said if the restaurant isn't serving homemade tortillas don't bother... Amor is serving FRESHLY HOMEMADE tortillas and a ton of flavor to follow! We ordered a tray of Carneasada and pollo tacos topped with onion, and guacamole, one Pollo Sope, Carneasada French fries, and the house recommended Chile Colorado! The Carneasada itself was on point. Hardy and flavorful. Not fat chopped finely it's actual Carneasada and you can taste difference. The homemade tortillas are in a class of their own...served fresh, steaming hot...especially perfect for the tacos. The tacos are fully loaded and they are not shy so you need a good tortilla that won't fall apart. I don't know where you get your Carneasada fries from but you need to come here...it's the small things that make a difference mozzarella cheese, fresh pico over this steak IS PERFECT Best of all, the Chile Colorado plate. Full of flavor with a little kick.l along with Full salsa bar...with the little things that go a long way-Toriado, or Grilled jalapeños, onions and habenero, four different salsas, and pickled vegetables.beans and rice. Update Unfortunately I returned and it was terrible. The restaurant was too hot, so we had to take our food to go. It also had that sour mop smell. Gross. Tried to use the bathroom and it was hotter in there than outside, and not clean. The beans and rice I paid $3 extra for were not flavorful, cheese in the beans was chewy and the beans were watery. The quesadilla I got was good and hot, but they gave me lettuce with a couple of drops of sour cream on it instead of a spoonful like usual. Horchata tasted powdery. Although I am no expert on "authentic" Mexican cuisine, I get the feeling that the approach to food and recipes at this place is more authentic than others. My favorite thing to order is enchiladas, but the tacos al pastor, which I got on special once, were amazing. I would give this place 5 stars, but the dining area is open-air sometimes, so it can be hot and you can have unwanted visitors. I usually get my food to go. My other critique is that the portion sizes are a little smaller than I'm used to at other similar places, but again, the flavor and service more than make up for it. read more

Menudo is very good and did I mention the tortillas are freshly made? Next I'd like to try the chilaquiles. The dining area is a good space to host a small dinner party of ~10-20 comfortably. Great food! If I understand correctly, this is owned by 2 brothers. The brother I met today was very nice. He helped me understand what I wanted. I came from Kansas and I've been looking all over for my favorite meal: cream cheese chicken enchiladas. Nobody has them. I had the Chicken, Cheese, & Rice - this was the closest thing to my favorite meal, so far. It was very good! I got chips & pico to go with it and barely touched it. I will definitely be going back!
