You do have to buy the service you want first ( cone, cup, etc) before TOU are able to sample the flavors, which isn't a bad concept to be honest. My hang up was I wasn't sure what I wanted as this was my first time so I asked and was told that I could taste before my order was fulfilled but there was the option of not selecting flavors if you wanted to taste before selecting (I had completed my order). However when I stepped up to sample another person had already started my order. She offered to restart however I tasted the two flavors that she hadn't scooped yet and just went with it. Worst ordering setup ever imagined. Wait in line for unwieldy kiosk ordering and then wait ... again... to get called to another line to have someone quasi unhelpful fix your ice cream. When you think you're about to get called, they will then call to serve a table with six people who have been waiting for who know how long in a corner that you didn't even realize were still in line. Six or seven orders later all done by one person .... You get your $8 gelato lottery ticket. After all the rigamarole - Gelato nothing to write home about but decent. While the flower inspired/shaped ice cream is incredibly gorgeous and fairly unique, they process was frustrating. After a long meal in the Clearfork shopping area we decided to pop in and try Amorino. This was less a craving, and more to see what all the fuss was about. The exterior is nothing too flashy, and the interior is dim and not overly welcoming. There are pictures of menu offerings in addition to the menu, but you order from someone and explain what you want and then you have to speak to another individual who puts it together for you. We asked the first individual how many flavors come with the single or double scooped ice cream flower options, and we were told as many as we wanted. Not knowing exactly how it worked the next person asked which flavor and the first person told him a flavor and he didn't ask if we wanted additional flavors so unfortunately that flower cone was all one flavor. The staff was somewhat friendly, but it would have been nice to have clearer instructions and assistance. Also, it felt like we were being rushed through the process. The flower shaped cones are neat, and if anything they're worth it for an Instagram shot. Some tips: As for a variety of flavors they assemble your tasty beautiful flower. Also, if you've never had it, try affogato. This Italian classic combines your favorite flavor(s) or ice cream with a shot of espresso poured in. The gelato is amazing! I got the Iniimitable gourmet cup. It was good. The whip cream is fresh and delicious but very heavy! When I got to the bottom of the cup, it was a bit rich for me. No complaints-didn't eat it all but was delicious. You order at a kiosk and then go to the counter to sample and pick up dessert. Service was quick and efficient. It was tasty and fresh. They also had different options, from cones to ice cream sandwiches. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 was that I wasn't crazy about the setup. If you were paying with a card, you had to use a kiosk that was away from the gelato area. The purpose was to pay and pick a size. I would have preferred to decide what flavors I wanted and then pay. They also had limited seating inside and a few tables outside. It was a hot day so it wasn't ideal but we had to sit outside. Visiting Amorino Gelato was quite the experience I didn't expect. I didn't expect there to be an area, The Shops at Clearfork, as nice in Fort Worth. I also didn't expect Amorino Gelato to be quite hectic as it was. It was my first time visiting Amorino Gelato, and it probably won't be my last. I've had gelato before, and Amorino Gelato doesn't disappoint. There were a lot of flavors to try, but due to the circumstances that was there, we didn't get a chance nor were we offered to try any flavors. We didn't even know we had the choice of 3 flavors until the last minute hence we decided on 2. I will say that the customer service was a bit lacking in service and attentiveness. As first-comers, we didn't know where the line started, although there were clear directions; we did follow these directions, but we were skipped over by a huge family who didn't follow these directions. We didn't mind because we were still deciding on what we want, but never did the staff offer to help until that big family paid. Additionally, although it was quite crowded and other customers were basically everywhere in the shop (literally, people were in line when they weren't actually in line because they didn't have a seat to sit by their family members), no one ever intervened. The only great customer service I encountered here was when a gentleman took my order and notified me of the different options I had to choose from. It was a bit late and hectic to decide, but nonetheless, he tried. Overall, I would try Amorino Gelato again, under the condition that it isn't crowded. The shop is too small to handle 2 or more families, especially when the families aren't looking after their children. Aside from that, their gelato and macaroons are great! read more
