I like trying new spots and decided to give this restaurant a try. Plenty of parking available- it's in Boone's Crossing. I liked the vibe when we walked in. They have several different seating areas. They also have a bar area. Nice decor throughout and they also have tv's for viewing. We enjoyed some samosas for an appetizer which came with 2 sauces. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was tasty but I wouldn't order it again. It wasn't what I expected. It was a chopped sandwich with onions and mayo maybe on a grilled panini. Good place to go at the end (or in the middle) of a shopping day. The restaurant has a great design, and a bar. Plenty of TVs to watch any sports game. Service was a bit slow. We had one item that took awhile to be brought out. The staff was pretty friendly. A mix of traditional Indian and other Asian fusion dishes. I really like the concept of this place. It's a restaurant but also has the structure to be a good sports bar. There were so many TVs! The place is clean and slick-looking. One thing that sets this place apart from other local restaurants is that it is open late. The service was friendly. We ordered a lot of food. All of it was great. However, the standout for me were definitely the Lamb Shank and Dosa with Masala. Tried the peri peri wings which were good. Service is great, I love that the drinks are how they look in the pictures on their menu except for the mocktails. They asked for my order drinks did not take long. Appetizers came out in a timely manner but it takes the waitress a while to get back to you for order and they don't check in often. It's not over crowded for it to be a Friday night, the music is nice and there is dim lighting and it's a very intimate setting. The prices are not on the cocktail menu so be aware before ordering. I wanted to try the daily special but there wasn't one. Also be aware that the website says Monday thru Friday happy hour from 2-6 but they do not have happy hour on Fridays Overall decent experience service could have been better we arrived at 5:00 and leaving at 7:30 I imagine we would have been out sooner if we had quicker service. A little late on the review. A few months back my friend and I were to meet at Harpos after I was off work on a Saturday. Well, there was a Mizzou game that night, and Harpos being a Mizzou bar was overflowing, then we thought about Sybergs, same way. Then I said to him, let's try Amrut. I knew it was a bourbon house. I thought it would be a Kentucky style place, lo and behold, it was Indian/Thai. Another friend of mine used to do business in India when he was with a publishing company. I said to him, are bourbon houses a thing in India? He said, oh yeah, they are in all the big cities in India. I did not know. Anyways, my friend and I had a few beers (not much of a bourbon guy myself, although my son is becoming an aficiondo at bourbon) and tried some of the food. I did the basic stir fried rice, very generous portion by the way, my friend had the lollipop chicken, he said it was the way his wife used to make it, she spent time in Thailand. Overall, a good place if you are into the bourbon scene, really good selection and the food is very good, the service is outstanding. Highly recommend. read more

Went out with a group tonight to check out the new restaurant. I picked two items I have had other places and liked - Chaat and Masala Dosa, I was not disappointed. Some items that were passed around were the Thai Curry Wings, Crispy Momos, Dynamite Chicken, and Garbanzo bullets. The flavors of the food were good, and our server was friendly and helpful with all the questions. For dessert we had the Royal Apricot Delight and the Royal Gulab Jamun. The apricot delight is said to be good for your skin and digestion. It is a place to take the family or go for date night. There were families, business partners, and couples throughout the area - so everyone will fit in whatever the occasion for a meal. Everyone enjoyed their food, but keep in mind if you are there with a large group (we had seven), gratuity is added to the check prior to them bringing it to you. Went in on a Thursday evening before a concert for appetizers and a cocktail. We proceeded with caution because the restaurant was literally empty. I got a spicy breaded cauliflower dish that was perfectly spiced! My fiancée ordered some buffalo wings. I tried an apple old fashioned and he got a traditional old fashioned. The drink was good. The dehydrated apple didn't really work for me but the cocktail was flavorful. I was amazed by the size of the bourbon list. I'm no aficionado but it appeared to be very extensive. The service was attentive but they didn't have a lot of distraction so anything less would have been intentional. I worry this restaurant won't survive. It was beautifully decorated and a huge space. Amrut Fusion is a full service Indian restaurant and bar at Chesterfield Valley. I am impressed with the wide food options, flavors of the dishes ordered as well as the ambience of the restaurant. During my visit on a Monday night, it is not packed but the tables are filling up. They have a bar area with TV with sports on. This is such a great sport bar alternative. The waitress was great at introducing the menu. During my visit, I loved everything ordered: 1) The tandoori chicken momo is extremely flavorful, served with deliciously seasoned vegetables 2) ordered the grilled seekh lamb kabob as my entree. It's large enough as a dinner entree. The seekh lamb kabob is very lean, and it's not greasy at all. Rice and veggies are served alongside. I really like the decorations of the restaurant. They had a lot of TVs and a great bar area to sit at and enjoy a good game. The menu was long and had a lot of options. We ended up getting samosas as appetizers as well as the Bombay shrimp. I definitely recommend both. They both had great flavor. I got the vindaloo as my main course. It also had some great flavor, but I will say the portion size was a little small. They could give you more rice. Our food did come out a little slow and the restaurant was empty other than a party. I think this restaurant has a lot of potential. The service was a little... off? The service was pretty inconsistent though polite. The website had labeled gluten free or vegan items with photos so, as a Celiac, I asked the server for a menu that was labeled or a list of items that were gluten free and she looked at me with shock, long pause, and just said 'No.' while shaking her head. She took our drink order and then came back to the table about 5 minutes later with a piece of paper with the list of gluten free items... hmm.. ok. The lamb brisket has an absolutely wonderful flavor - but the string of fat that, while delightful, needs something more than a butter knife. I really enjoyed the dish and the sauces served with it were lovely but it was almost impossible to get through it and I could not get the server to come back without the food getting cold after waiting for a long while for her to return I had to saw at it with a butter knife or pull it off with my hands The two bourbon-forward drinks I ordered I had to order a second finger of bourbon to add it in to the drink because they were just too cloyingly sweet which seemed off to me for a place that indicates they are a whiskey and bourbon bar. They have a solid cocktail list but the ratios or those recipes need a little more refining. This was our 2nd time there on an early Saturday evening. First time food was good, service not so much and this time both were subpar, but service was worst. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant, and as we were seated a gentleman leaving leaned over and said good luck. After our experience I then knew what he meant. We each had something different and each dish was just okay. All protein dishes arrived with just the meat/seafood on a plate with no rice or any type of side. We asked and were told that only curries come with rice. Maybe here, but as someone who frequents many Indian restaurants this is not the norm. Once finished our server was AWOL and we had to go looking for her to ask for our check. Not just once, but three times. We finally gave up, went and got a menu, added up our bill, and left cash on the table. The was no one at the bar or the hostess stand when when left and only two tables had patrons. There were more than a handful of tables that were not cleared/bussed in our time there. Service was horrible and food was only mildly passable. My group has eaten there before and did not have these issues. We had to ask for our checks several times (we did ask up front is separate checks were okay) We never got them. I had heard of Amrut a while ago and then forgot about it. I drove past it last week and made a reservation for Saturday night. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. We had the option of sitting at high top tables in the bar area, or the dining room and we chose the dining room. A server came over quickly and we ordered cocktails and appetizers. Our drinks came quickly, but we waited a while for our appetizers. Our entrees arrived much faster. All of the food was nice and hot. We enjoyed all of the food except the lamb samosas. I like samosas but the filling wasn't good. The menu is fairly large with a lot of good options. They do indicate how spicy the food is by the number of peppers are by each item. There are also some "American" options - pizza, burgers, fries, etc. One of my pet peeves in restaurants is when dirty dishes and glasses pile up on the table. That happened. It was never crowded while we were there. We saw staff standing around. And still, we had dirty dishes sitting there. They're also a little stingy with the rice. Both of us could have used more with our entrees. This is not your typical Indian restaurant! There are a lot of TVs in the bar area. There's not much art, but there is a big picture of a burger and another of a pizza. The dining room looks more upscale and has a number of tables and booths. The chairs are very comfortable! The music they played was top 40 - current and old. And it was played loud enough to hear clearly. It was okay, but not what we thought we'd hear. We may go back. Very pleased with our experience here! Attentive service. The food was great, not sure why some of these reviews don't reflect this. Don't let that deter you. Loved the masala dosa, the noodles, and momos are a solid appetizer. Also make sure to get the mango lassi and the lemon Amrut tea (I believe that's what it's called, very unique!). Also heads up the noodles has ( ) next to it on the menu but it is not spicy, it had a great Indo-Chinese flavor though. Would definitely come back here and order all these again. My husband had received a gift certificate from his coworkers for this restaurant so we took this opportunity to try a new place to us. The decor is wonderful and the atmosphere was quiet. The staff was very welcoming and we were seated upon arrival. Our drink order was taken in short order, but the wait time was a bit long, considering the crowd was small. However, our old fashioneds were very well prepared! Kudos to the bartender. We placed our appetizer and mains at the same time and we received the peri peri fries and one of our mains, the shrimp tandoori, at the same time with the explanation that the kitchen decided that we wanted our main at the same time as the appetizer. When I asked that the main be served later, and made fresh I was assured it would be. We continued on with our next appetizer, the samosas, and the flavors were excellent!! The server brought our mains when we finished our appetizers, and my husband's vindaloo and my shrimp tandoori grill were delivered. The flavors were yum! However, it was apparent that my shrimp dish had just been placed under the warmer, and reserved, not fixed fresh, as assured initially. When we finished our meal the manager came to check up and we gave him a courteous full account of our experience. We were very happy with the flavors, but a bit disenchanted with the timing of the meal. For instance, the Zwickel by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company was listed as a Zwickel IPA, but upon inquiry, it turned out to be just Zwickel.To add to the confusion, when we sought clarification from the staff regarding the beer types, their responses left much to be desired. Wish we had read the reviews before we went here. Echoing what many have noted- service is lackadaisical, food is mediocre at best, ambience is confusing. We went on a Friday evening and most tables were empty. It still took the waitress some time to get to us and seat us. Multiple TVs set up like a sports bar but only error messages or "please log into your account" messages showed up on them. For appetizers we ordered Bombay shrimp and garbanzo bullets. The first dish was essentially shrimp tempura with a mayo sauce. Nothing as described in the menu. The garbanzo was tasty- the only item we liked from our dinner. For main course we ordered lamb Rogan Josh, malai chicken with butter naan and egg noodles . Both the curries were too sour - too much vinegar or tomato paste - and salty for our palate. The naan was dry. The noodles was meh. Not once did the waitress show up to check on us or replenish or drinks . We finally had to flag her down and ask for the check. We also asked for to-go boxes . I just paid $120 for a meal that I figured I could repurpose at home. We were given extremely flimsy styrofoam boxes that barely closed. We asked for containers for our curries and were told these are all they have. For a place that bills itself as fine dining it was extremely disappointing. Chesterfield has much better fine dining Indian restaurants. Needless to say we will not be visiting again. read more

LAST VISIT- Great Bourbon, Good Food, Great Service but can't really enjoy drinking top shelf bourbons listening to Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran playlists. It's ashame - this place has really good food and a Bourbon selection unrivaled by most others in Chesterfield. I would have hoped after several suggestions to change the music to go with this upscale bar that they would play some relaxing, upbeat jazz happy hour music (ANYTHING BUT TAYLOR SWIFT) to go with the great food and the top shelf bourbons. Second time here and it was a struggle to get my wife to come back after our first experience. She loves Chicken Tikka Masala and had it here last time, but thought it was too spicy. I told her this place had a huge menu (which it does) and surely she could find something to her liking. Anyway, we had the Fried Chickpeas, Chicken Momos, Kung Pan Chicken Wings and Tikka Masala Pasta. The Chicken Momos were the best things and I'd say were a 7/10. The fried chickpeas were just ok, something to eat and a lot of them in a serving. I think if they had some kind of sauce they would be much better. I poured some of the Momo dipping sauce on them and I'd say it much improved the dish. I was disappointed with the wings. There were a lot of them and they came with a really good happy hour price of $9. They were well cooked and crispy, but the sauce was too sticky and there was just something off with the flavor. The Tikka Masala pasta sounds like such a good idea, but it was a bust again because of the flavor profile of the sauce which didn't taste much like tikka masala. When the bill arrived it had two of the "happy hour" items, Chicken Momo and Kung Pan wings (listed as $8 and $9 on the menu) uplifted each by $2 for chicken. I called that out to the server and she went back and removed the charges. The atmosphere of this place is nice, most of the booths along the windows were filled when we arrived, not many were seated in the middle of the restaurant. Arriving at 12:55 PM Sunday (today), the empty parking lot caused us to wonder whether the place was even open. Upon entering, we were never greeted. And we were left standing in front of the "Please wait to be seated" sign until the two employees finished their conversation. Though my meager serving of goat was chopped, I fought it with a knife to separate the tough meat from fat, gristle & bone. Our water glasses were not refilled until five minutes after we had finally caught a passing employee towards the end of our meal. Checkout extended this disaster. Though we had clearly asked for two tickets at point of order, they never managed to pull it off. We finally agreed to one ticket; however, they could never produce an itemized bill.
