Food & service were amazing. The caesar salad is a must get it was our favorite. Steak frites was smaller than we expected with honestly more salad/fries than steak on the plate. Charred broccoli was okay - liked the couscous and steak more. My husband on the other hand for his birthday dinner got a slice of cake from the restaurant - it had a sparkler on it that BURNED a hole straight through his pants! So definitely ask for no sparklers if you have any clothes you don't want ruined!!

Came here for my birthday celebration after I heard so many good things and it did not disappoint! I cannot wait to go back and try more food. Our server was amazing and gave us so many great food recommendations!

Hello go here for the steak. I love the fried lobster tail and the salad. You don't have one person who come check on you. You have to, and they be having fresh flowers when you come in and in the bathroom too.

The second visit of the new tradition of eating at Twisted Tree with coworkers in town for meetings. We had eight ad we got the same great table in the little alcove as last time. We had a great waiter; he was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. We ordered a table appetizer to share, The Batter Dipped Lobster Bites are a big hit, for good reason! They come on a bed of crispy fries that are great on their own, but the lobster bites are fantastic! Crunchy but not greasy and dipped in the warm butter, yum! I have ordered different things every time I visit, this time I ordered off the chef's plates menu and went with the Steak Frites. Ribeye cap, lounge fries, the same fries as with the Lobster Bites, arugula, citrus herb aioli, and bearnaise butter. The Rib cap is a cut I haven't had before; it reminded me of skirt or flank steak. It was tender and flavorful. I love arugula and this with the citrus herb aioli was great. I would order it again. Signature Wedding Cake with vanilla ice cream, shared by the table, everyone enjoyed it. Great food, great service, loved by all my out-of-town coworkers!

I came to enjoy the happy hour specials. The full HH menu is $5 which is a STEAL!! Parking is scarce but they have FREE VALET so just pull up and drop off your keys or take a rideshare. The outdoor dining area is large! They can easily hold 50-60 people on the patio. After entry, I seated myself at the bar. The bar service was prompt and the bartenders were attentive. They cleared plates, placed orders and made drinks! I ordered everything on the menu except cheese curds. The steak bites were well seasoned and tender, onion rings were plain but the dipping sauce is a winner, my favorite were the brisket toasted ravioli, prime rib sliders were on a soft hawaiian roll and came with a horseradish dip, the crab rangoon were ok...The dipping sauces were extremely sweet. The manhattan was made well! Strong with a hint of sweetness from the cherry. Lovely. This was an excellent experience! A great happy hour to get a bang for your buck.

July 2026: FANTASTIC! I was pleasantly surprised that we got a reservation on the date needed; it's a busy place. Samantha our server was pleasant and described the specials. I had an Old Fashioned that was perfectly prepared but in a smaller portion than expected for the size cocktail I think it should be, but it was good. Caesar salad was huge and enough to share, I had to ask twice for anchovy for the genuine Caesar so a ding for that. Ribeye was perfectly prepared and juicy for its medium hot pink center. Loved it. Manager swung by and that was a nice touch. Bread server was a good kid and made an effort in his role which is always good to see. Will definitely return for a special occasion. Kudos for a great meal and experience.

Plenty of parking on dedicated lot next to Holiday Inn. It does get crowded. Valet available. Get a reservation. Restaurant was crowded on a Tuesday evening. Seated around reservation time. Service was good. Waiter was quite talkative. Lobster bites. 8/10. Crispy. Not oily. Not over battered. It was a nice start. The warm butter was a nice touch. Salad. 9/10. As good as they say. You can get more and the sides were a great touch. You can dress it as you like. Filet. 8/10. Cooked well. Lots of flavor, juicy. One of the better filets I've had. Baked potato. 7/10. Huge and lots of sour cream and butter on the side. It was good and cooked well. Nothing exceptional. Chocolate gooey cake and ice cream. 4/10. It was very rich and liquidity. Ice cream was good. Overall a great meal and will be back.

Wow! This was our first time and it was amazing. Our server Julia was kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The chimichurri on the steak kabobs was probably the best I've ever had. The cocktails were delicious I had the hibiscus mango margarita and an espresso martini - both were amazing. The restaurant was warm, upscale, and well-appointed. I can't wait to come back.

What a Great lunch day for a day off of work!!!! The lunch menu is great!!! We didn't want Steak (I know weird) so we went for the Special Double Smashburger with Bacon Jam.... Delicious.. and the Twisted Tree Chicken Sandwich.. yummy!! Plus the Best Onion Rings around!!! We tried the Brisket Ravioli on several recommendations.... We had to send the first order back due to them being cold (in the middle of). The next order wasn't any better.... So we opted for the Tenderloin Skewers!!! So good!!!! We noticed the Happy Hour they have Tuesday-Friday in the Bar!! Gonna check that out soon!!! Always a great atmosphere!!! Always Busy so make a reservation... even for Lunch!!! Our Server was on her first day on her own and did Awesome!!!

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal. The smash burger was cooked to perfection with crispy edges, a juicy center, and amazing flavor. The onion rings were golden, crispy, and delicious, and the margaritas were fresh, smooth, and the perfect finishing touch. Great food, great drinks, and a great atmosphere made this an all-around fantastic dining experience. I can't wait to come back and visit the friendly bartenders who ensured I enjoyed my food and time.

We visited Twisted Tree on a Wednesday evening, arriving early (around 5:30 PM). While we were seated immediately, the dining room was completely full by 6:30 PM. Even with a full house, being seated in the middle of the large dining area kept the volume manageable and the experience relaxed. The Standouts * The House Salad (4.5/5): My wife and I agree--this is easily one of the best house salads in St. Louis. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, the dressings are clearly homemade, and those croutons are legendary. If you come here and don't order the salad, you're doing it wrong. * Barrel-Aged Manhattan (4.25/5): This was excellent and very well executed. I was actually surprised to find they used Four Roses as the base. While Four Roses is a solid, standard bourbon, it doesn't typically have the aggressive flavor notes of a high-proof or spicy rye. However, those complex flavors were definitely present here, likely a testament to the quality of their house barrel-finishing process. The Entrées: A Mixed Bag Service was friendly and prompt, and our server was great at navigating our menu questions. However, we found the seafood lacked the same "wow" factor as the starters. * Halibut Special (3.5/5): This was served over a black garlic risotto with asparagus. The risotto was the highlight--rich and perfectly executed--and provided a better flavor profile than the other fish dish. * Sea Bass (3/5): While the portion was generous and the fish was fresh, it was crying out for a sauce or more aggressive seasoning. The accompanying kale and squash were unfortunately undercooked and lacked flavor. Experimental Dessert * Red Velvet Cake Bread Pudding (3/5): We are always up for trying something new, but this didn't quite land for us. It was served cold, which might have been a deliberate chef's choice since Red Velvet is often a cold cake, but it felt "off" for a bread pudding. The chocolate sauce and strawberries were tasty, but the overall mixture was just too rich and thick to really enjoy. The Verdict Twisted Tree clearly knows its way around a salad and a cocktail, but the seafood and experimental desserts were a bit of a miss this time. In hindsight, I spent the whole night looking at the chalkboard featuring their dry-aged beef options and eyeing the pork chop on the menu. We'll definitely be back, but next time, we're sticking to the steaks and the classics.

Absolutely enjoy this place end up doing the complementary valet. It was nicely packed, which is to be expected when you have dry aged steaks so it end up being two seats at the bar so we went to the bar. The ambience was low lit romantic style setting. Kelly was our server at the bar. I started with a Moscato then a French 75 followed by an old-fashioned or should I say new fashion made with tequila! (Definitely enough alcohol) Loved how they (girlies) were dressed all black sleek looks. The young guy that brought the steak out on a hot pan was awesome! I really enjoyed myself The steak literally melted it tasted like butter. I get my steak medium rare, the chipotle sweet potatoes were definitely more on the spicy side I love spicy food tho so needless to say I loved them. It also came with a Caesar salad salad that was enough to feed at least two or three people! I will definitely be returning very nice experience

This is the delightful lobster bisque. Absolutely, delicious.
    Matthew C.

I just dinned here for my mother in law's birthday and I was blown away to say the least. The food was more than exemplary, especially the lobster bisque, the steak and the ahi tuna. The service was top notch and our server, (I wish I could remember his name), was fantastic and really made us all feel like we dinning amongst royalty. The ambiance was great with intimate lighting, great music at just the right level and the decor was nice as well. Although a bit pricy, I would love a chance to eat here again as once you taste the food, you'll know instantly, that it's worth every penny your spending. If I could give the Twisted Tree 10 stars, I definitely would.

Ask the Community - Twisted Tree

Can you order from the bar/patio menu (a burger) when seated in the dining room?

Unfortunately, the bar menu is only available in the bar area. Thank you!

Looking at the menu, it doesn't appear kid friendly, would that be accurate?

Hi Charise, We do offer a children's menu with 4 or 5 different items included. Thank you!

Can you do separate bills for a party of people?

Yes, separate checks are not a problem!

    What do people wear here?

Most people just wear casual clothes. Nice jeans and shirt for the guys. I usually wear a casual dress in the summer and jeans and nice sweater in the winter.

Do patrons have to wear a mask inside of the establishment?

    Not as of 2/28/22

What is Twisted Trees uncorking fee?

    $25 per bottle Thanks!

Do they cater to birthday requests? or have complimentary birthday desserts?

I am not sure. We celebrated our anniversary and they brought out a piece of their Wedding Cake and Ice Cream. It was good, but beware... we were charged for it!!! We didn't…

It was already getting late so we were worried we wouldn't find one in time, when this spot popped up! Their Happy Hour goes until 6:30!! They also gave us a list of their favorite menu items. That was the sign that it was time for us to go! We were lucky and found a great parking spot. It was a nice night and a lot of people were in the area. We were greeted warmly by a few people at the hostess stand. Our table was almost ready - literally maybe a two minute wait - and then we were seated. It's not a huge space, but they make the most of it. The place was full! Our server was Josh and he was great! There were a number of people that came to our table throughout our two hours there. Drink delivery, food delivery, Amanda (one of our very favorite servers we met at another restaurant), water pourer, table cleaner, etc - lots of staff taking care of everyone. We dropped utensils a few times and someone on staff was there replacing it before we even picked it up off the floor. We're not THAT clumsy - the tables for two aren't large and it was easy to hit a utensil unknowingly! It's a little loud in there due to the size of the space and the number of people they can seat. It wasn't annoyingly loud, but louder than some places. We ordered our cocktails and then started trying to decide what to order. Josh went over the menu with us, told us about some of the items in more detail, and told us about the specials. He was super knowledgeable about the entire menu. He also had a fun personality. Focaccia and olive oil were brought to our table. It was literally the only thing I didn't like there. I love focaccia, but it was served almost cold. I prefer it warm. And this wasn't room temp - it was very cool. We started with Prosciutto di Parma. Because peaches are in season, it came with fresh sliced peaches and it was delicious! Without the peaches, I think the prosciutto would have been too salty for me, but I'm salt sensitive. I had the Roman Gnocco and it was very good! I brought half of it home. My husband got the Sweet Corn Ravioli. It was a special and it was delicious. It was the perfect summer entree! We had an ice cream sandwich for dessert and wow! It's absolutely not like one you've had before. I was already full, but I made some room! In addition to the food and cocktails being so good, the staff were fabulous! They didn't miss a trick. Someone always noticed everything! And the food they took from me to box up was kept somewhere else until we were ready to go. It was brought with the bill. It was labeled with our table number and what the contents were. Was it a big deal? No. Was it very thoughtful? Yes. We didn't have a box sitting there while we enjoyed dessert and finished our cocktails. My only regret is that we had not been there before. The food and service are both top notch. We will most definitely be back!

So far this is a 5 star place! then the food, spinach salad, D asked in bacon and egg was ok on the salad, Sure, the bacon was imitation "baco's" Two filet's with onion rings, steak fries, and hash browns. Where to start, the med rare steaks arrived with this beige/gray color and slightly above room temperature, the steak fries were not completely cooked and cold, the hash browns were also cold and like the cold onion rings completely devoid of flavor. usually steakhouse have their own specialty meat provisioner and I think this place is serving Sysco or Kuna frozen steaks. we skipped dessert to lesson further disappointment.

The atmosphere is warm inviting. It's a great place for a special occasion, a business meal, or just looking for some good food. Oh yeah, their pasta is House made!

After a whole lot of research, knowing I wanted scallops for a main, I chose The Crossing. Our meal started with a complimentary offering of their bleu cheese soufflé with crisps and bread service--both delicious. I enjoyed a glass of their current "by the glass" Chardonnay, and my boyfriend got a Yeungling (poured table-side). I got my scallops, as planned, which certainly did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, fresh and delicious. The wilted romaine seemed odd at first but totally rounded out the potato mash at the base, with the absolute flavor-bomb of the shiitakes. Highly recommend this dish any day! My boyfriend opted for the NY Strip; we both agreed it was one of the best steaks we'd ever had; seasoned perfectly and cooked masterfully. There was a slight mishap whereby a food runner gave him a tasting portion of the strip (likely meant for another table); we first didn't realize and were very disappointed with the size. However, without a word from us, the chef came out and personally explained, apologized, and corrected--I didn't snap a photo of the full portion when it came out, but it was perfect and much more what we expected. That brings me to the service, which was spectacular. Several staff members gave us a personal touch and they all seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. The space is beautiful and intimate. It was moderately busy and still quiet. The atmosphere feels upscale, but not pretentious or unapproachable. This place was on my radar for a long time, and I sure wish I'd gone long ago. If you're thinking about it, just go!! I can't wait to come back and try the chefs tasting menu--thank you for a wonderful dinner!

We started with the Korean fried cauliflower and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The batter was light, fluffy, and crispy, and the gochujang sauce with the mayo was sweet and sticky in the best way. Since it's a butchery, we had to try the steaks. I ordered the 4oz filet Oscar style. The meat was tender and very well seasoned, the crab was fresh, and the homemade hollandaise really pulled it all together. My husband had the ribeye. It was a flavorful cut, a little fatty (as ribeye tends to be), but exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The steaks come with a twice-baked potato and vegetable (or you can swap for different vegetables). The potato was flavorful but fairly dense. We also did the bread service - it was good, but felt a bit pricey for the portion. We ended with the flourless chocolate torte, which was very rich and the perfect way to finish the meal - especially on Valentine's Day. Overall, the food was good and the menu is solid. The quality was there, but the portions, bread service and sides didn't fully meet expectations. That said, it was still a lovely experience and a great date-night spot.
