The lagoons are absolutely stunning and the canal that you float down is peaceful and crystal clear. The guides are fairly quiet but EXTREMELY knowledgeable if you ask them any questions. There are a few ruins around that you can get out and look at as well as they will tell you the history of the canals. Very interesting and informative. The thing my husband and I talk about and remember most of our Tulum trip is this experience. Good thing to know ahead of time however is the loooooong walk on the boardwalk back to the boat. Make sure you have a good pair of Keen sandals or something that are comfortable to walk about a half mile or so.

Tulum waters were clear and there were so many different varieties of fish! Took underwater photos and videos and they came out clear as day! Was nervous we might not see any sea turtles, but we saw 6 turtles at Akumal! And a stingray! Alex and Lalo definitely made the adventure better with their knowledge, great sense of humor and excellent service. This was my first time seeing the cenotes, and hey were beautiful and full of culture/history. Even got to do a cliff/cenote dive! Would definitely recommend this package for someone looking for snorkeling/cenotes experience.

We had used hotel credits to basically pay for the trip. As the only thing I actually paid for was the Mexican taxes. Here's a few highlights: ~ Started our day early around 7am, as the tour groups from several hotels gathered the tourists. ~ As the tour began, our guides introduced themselves as Walter and Fernando. Both bilingual and really nice guys. ~ Breakfast consisted of two types of tamales and a traditional balché Mayan drink. ~ On our way to Chichen Itza, Fernando and Walter referenced many historical facts about the Maya people and how they live today. They passed around artifacts as well. ~ We visited their local gift shop that they specifically support. And they do take credit card, even though I only carried cash. ~ Watched a video in a dome theater, about the Mayan culture and how it all began. ~ In the heat, Walter showed us all around the Chichen Itza grounds. Simply amazing! ~ For lunch we all met up at The Lodge at Chichen Itza (beautiful hotel btw). It was a buffet filled with freshly made tacos and other time-honored traditional dishes. A bit salty for me though. ~ After that, we trucked along to the cenote. Now this was probably my favorite highlight of my entire trip. To swim and relax in a natural pool of fresh water was just exhilarating! I loved seeing it, taking pics of it, and just disconnecting from that thing called "work". ~ On our way back, our final stop, we went to the town of Valladolid. Here we checked out the Cathedral of San Gervasio and bought some last minute gifts at the local shops. Tips: ~ They serve you bottled water, but I'd still bring some just in case. October was still hot and humid, yet bearable. ~ Bring a hand towel. Again, just in case, you'll thank me. ~ Sandals for the cenote. ~ Extra battery for your camera, or a charger. Overall: ~ Although the tour company seems to want to cater or sell you something from their local partners, it didn't really bother me. I enjoyed it, and still would recommend going with these guys.

We were picked up from our resort right at 7 am and then we made our way to the Cancun Adventures office to wait for two other couples from other resorts. This ended up taking quite a bit of time, but thankfully there is a coffee shop next door where we got some caffeine and a snack. They did offer us cold bottled water and bananas on the bus (I would bring extra snacks because by the time we finished at the cenote I was starving and had to pay $6 for a small bag of chips at the cenote). The bus was pretty crowded with 12 people, and driving back into the jungle to the cenote was VERY bumpy. Be sure to take some dramamine if you get car sick! Omar was our guide and he was amazing. He told us about the area of Mexico we were in, and talked about the cenotes and what we could expect at each stop. Once we got to the cenote, we were offered a Mayan blessing, showered off, and headed into the cenote. They do not allow any photos or devices in the cenote. (They provide a locker for your stuff.) Once you get into the cenote they take your photos, which was kitschy and VERY expensive ($50 for one photo), but I get it's part of the tour. I absolutely loved the cenote experience itself - it was so cool to learn about and Omar's background in biology made it very informative. This part was about an hour, then you could shop a bit (they are pretty pushy but you can politely decline). Then we headed on to the snorkeling portion. I personally don't really love snorkeling, but it was fun to see the turtles! We saw about 4 or 5, but it was a bit chaotic with other groups everywhere. Then we headed to the beach club for lunch. This private beach was peaceful and the food was delicious. I personally loved the beef burrito. Mix the hibiscus and lemonade half and half for a tasty beverage. There are some areas to relax and changing rooms, so bring dry clothes to change into if you want. Pack a towel! Overall the tour took much longer than I was expecting, so be sure to plan for that if you have a dinner reservation or other evening plans. But I loved the experience and Omar was awesome.

Catamaran tour! This was so much fun! Cancun Adventures…read morecame and picked us up at the hotel, drove us waaay across town to a beach, where we boarded a catamaran, which took us to and from Isla Mujeres, while they jammed American rock music, and served up free beer and tequila shots. Along the way, we stopped at the underwater museum, where we snorkeled up to some of the artwork, and took in the sights of bright, vibrant coral reefs and amazing fish. On board, they served up sandwiches, and sweets, and snacks. The staff was super friendly, and got through the drunk as touristas as fast as possible. They provided all the equipment needed for snorkeling. There were more people on board than expected. I'd say maybe 65 people on board each catamaran. It wasn't exactly a private tour.

They try hard to keep the beach free of sea grass. Marco at the Portofino restaurant was great! Alex at the buffet, who recognized us in Playa del Carmen, was a personality. The poor guy my wife finally tracked down at nine at night to get towels that worked his butt off to help us out (didn't get his name). The sports fields are really nice. With that said, I had two rooms for my family of 5 (including three teenagers) for six days. We picked the hotel because it offered unlimited à la carte dinners. What they don't tell you is that they are generally booked up 2-3 days out and you can't book more than 2 days in advance. So we get there and are told me can't go to a special restaurant for the first two days. We're looking at the buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively. They're not great, and the choices never materially change. We then made a mistake by not trying to book Thursday and Friday dinner until Wednesday morning to be told... they're all booked up. I was finally able to get the concierge to get us into a dinner on Friday. Please keep in mind that most restaurants are only half-filled, but they are supposedly at capacity. We got into dinner on Thursday by visiting 7 different restaurants before we found a manager who was able to fit us in his half-empty restaurant. Housekeeping was terrible. For one room, they cleaned it on the second day. We had to escalate the issue three times, wait six hours to receive new towels, cups, and for the room to be cleaned on the 5th day. We then had to complain again on the last full day to get the room cleaned! We got comfortable going into the service corridors to get our own towels. We also grew tired of being told that certain features, pools, or drinks were "extra" for "Family Select" or "Preferred" members. I spent $5K for the hotel alone to be told that the basics and amenities were extra. Get used to waiting in lines... for the buffets, the bars, the concierge, etc. We waited an hour and a half at the sports bar (the only restaurant available between lunch and dinner) for terrible food. For example, the garlic bread was half a toasted hot dog bun. The potato skins were half a mid-sized potato. The two jalapeno poppers were roughly 2 inches long. You get the idea. At times, I waited 20-30 minutes to talk to the concierges. There would often be one on duty in each lobby for a hotel with many hundreds of rooms. Overzealous staff kept telling us what we could not do. I couldn't take drinks from the bar (soda) into the sports bar where we were waiting. My son couldn't carry an alcoholic drink for his mother (with me by his side). The entertainment was mediocre at best. Most resorts bring in travelling entertainers with good shows. Not here. The same group of hardworking dancers work all of their shows. Don't expect much variety. My teenagers got plenty of sleep. They had nothing to do at night and complained they were bored. For a family-friendly resort, it caters to young families and little kids. There's no teen club or teen parties. Activities scheduled through the resort (dive shop, excursions, massages) are ludicrously expensive. We got better options from the guys walking the beach. There were other issues, but to top it off, after complaining to the concierge *(especially about the lack of housekeeping, towels, and dinner reservations). They offered us two free hydro-therapy sessions (normally extra cost) at the spa as compensation. So... basically they offered us access to the only hot tubs we found for one-time use. That's not quite cutting it. Finally, we were never given the chance to talk to a manager or supervisor to try to make things right. THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE. Now that I've written the review, let's see if we hear anything.

My wife is not…read morea confident snorkeller but with help from Luis and Limbert she went out into quite a rough sea to see the turtles and then snorkelled over some deep water in the cenote/caves. We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. Both were quite close to Playa Del Carmen/ Playacar so the longest drive was around thirty minutes. I got some great photos and at the end of the trip we were sent a Google Drive of the photos that Limbert had taken.

This is my second time to Jet Ski Cancun in a year. From booking online last minute to the check…read morein, to the time spent, to the experience they provide - I highly recommend the experience. From starters, you can book online and pay with Paypal for your time slot. Once you arrive, you will check in and have to pay the dock fee and sign some waivers. After 5 minutes, you are good to go. We booked an hour on the water and the Seadoo's they have are super fast. I was able to top around 62 km/h before I felt unsure about myself haha. They let you do your own thing for your time slot and are there to watch you in case you need help. My favorite guide I got both times was Alexis. Alexis is super easy going and funny and speaks really good English in case you need help. Once back at the dock, the team showed us drone footage and pictures they bought. I ended up buying the corona bottles souvenirs because they are awesome and fun. I would go everytime I'm in Cancun. Thanks Alexis and Eric and team. -

We rented two jet skis for one hour, with the clear understanding that each jet ski would be shared between two couples -- 30 minutes per couple, for a total of eight riders. This arrangement was explained in detail beforehand and the staffer agreed. However, the staffer unilaterally changed the plan and allowed only four guests to use the jet skis initially, disregarding what was previously agreed upon. When I pointed this out, the staff member reluctantly agreed to honor our original arrangement and suggested that they riders changed the agreement (false) but by then, we had already lost valuable time due to his misunderstanding. On top of that, our group spent 15 minutes completing paperwork, which delayed the actual start time to 4:15 PM, we arrived at 3:20 pm with enough time, even though the session was scheduled from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Despite this delay being on their end, they did not extend our session to make up for the lost time. When I brought up the issue, the staff member was extremely rude, dismissive, and took no responsibility, instead blaming others for the confusion. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service left a very negative impression. This occurred on May 24, 2025 and unfortunately I didn't get the staffers name but he was small thin in stature male who was very rude and condescending. Who did not offer and apology nor any type of acknowledgment. My recommendation is look other places before booking here.

The weather for this excursion prevented us from going snorkeling, so they just let us cruise in the fast boats for 2 hours thru the marinas, bays, shorelines and mangroves of Cancun. So much fun. We spent the morning getting ready for our noon tour, then took the bus to the location. Through a bit of overzealousness on our part, we arrived 45 minutes early, only to find out the tour was cancelled to do...maybe the wind? The boats and snorkeling weren't possible to go out. A few of us cancelled, but some decided they wanted to still do the trip the following day (our last day), but we asked them to please notify us in case it was cancelled beforehand so they didn't have to take another bus ride for no reason. I emailed the morning of, because of the strong winds all throughout the night. I did receive an email back, saying they hadn't heard if the tour was going to take place but I'd be notified in case of something had changed. Welp, those that were going had no choice to leave and hop on the bus for their tour...only to find out, the snorkeling part was cancelled, but they could do the boat ride if they wanted. Since snorkeling was their main reason for going, they decided to cancel. It would have been great to know this before hand. The refunds were processed pretty promptly and we were grateful for that, but it's a shame there wasn't much communication that wasted time (and money) that could have used for something else both times.
