I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

Like this bar changed my whole perspective on the whole state of Idaho being a California transplant, which doesn't hold that much weight with other people in Idaho, but I don't care. I will always come here anytime I come downtown and I will always overtip because the likes of Ruby and Darien never disappoint, including the regulars, whom are also always nice. For every overrated cactus bar with the worst service, there is the mode lounge which sets the standard for everything in Boise.

We were seated outside in a cramped area next to overgrown plants, and there was a decorative hanging star above us that looked poorly secured and potentially unsafe. The food was poorly executed across the board. The eggs Benedict was served as actual boiled eggs with hollandaise that had an off taste and was inedible. My biscuits and gravy were also underwhelming, with overcooked eggs and undercooked, greasy bacon that made the plate difficult to eat. Service was slow and inconsistent. My one coffee refill took an extraordinarily long time, and my girlfriend's specialty coffee--which was the most expensive item we ordered--was never followed up on once it was finished. We also waited a long time just to get the check, almost as long as it took us to pick at our meal. When the server finally returned, my plate was cleared but her uneaten food was left sitting. Overall, the experience felt worse than even basic diners. We won't be returning.

The second drink I got was a cocktail that was smooth with a perfect amount of sweet. My friends got cocktails in their unique glasses. When our next group came through, they were led into a room. After a while, one friend came out to say hello to us. The waiter noticed that we knew each other and told my group to follow him. The room was dimly lit and was furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches. Our third group was able to join us in the room and we were able to mingle seated or standing. The different drinks that were ordered were so cool. A smoky bubble was set on top of a cone shaped glass that resembled an ice cream cone. I had a couple of friends that ordered gin drinks and they were served in a bathtub complete with rubber ducky! This was such a fun and special way to celebrate a friend's birthday! I am quite disappointed in the service that I seen tonight. I witnessed racial profiling at its finest tonight. Your bouncers turned away an amazing coworker of mine who is a blue collar worker for the school district on his birthday. We ended up spending our very hard earned money other places. All you had to do was treat him like everyone else. We wanted to celebrate his birthday and enjoy our first week back to school working with delinquent youth, and instead you treat him with disrespect and cruelty. Thank you for your crappy service. We WILL NOT be back until your earn our respect and treat everyone with respect. We had a party of 15 people that will be spreading the word of your hate. Never go here, this place is the equivalent of highway robbery. My friends and I went here and ordered 3 bottles of alcohol. Me and two other gentlemen ordered and paid for the bottles. They charged us $600 dollars a piece for a total of $1800 dollars. The bottle I purchased, crown royal apple, is valued at around $30 dollars. When I called and asked for an explanation of why a $30 bottle cost me $600 dollars, their explanation was, "Any bottle you purchase is $500, plus a $100 gratuity. On top of this there was no menu for bottles and they ran our credit cards before they brought the bottles, and brought the receipts after the bottles were opened. read more

The staff here are the worst kind. It took them 30min to get our drinks and there were maybe 12 people there. You can expect to have have a waitress/waiter with emotional problems. Their hipster attitudes definitely affect the drinks too. Mine tasted like cat-piss infused with a rotten cactus. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.
