    The beer list

Love this place! The service is great, the bartender is always super friendly and the beer selection is fantastic! If you are looking for a soccer game, this is the place! Nice place to hang out and watch a game with friends. No food, but you can order from places nearby and bring it in, no problem. Come check it out!

Oh, Amsterdam. You have my heart! I've been coming here for well over 10 plus year and . have seen bartenders come and go, new beers appear and disappear and changes made to the Biergarten. Despite those things, the service has always remained top notch and I'm guaranteed to get a good seat watching a premier league game! This place has been recognized as THE premier league bar in the city (at least that's what I think). They have a plethora of beers on tap (both inside and outside) and plenty of other beers (including na) vodka, whiskey, and etc. While they don't serve food the new place next door, SmashEm's Burger Bar does, in addition to other places on the strip. Before you ask, yes, they allow you bring food inside, and dogs are welcome as well! This seems like one of the few sports bars in the city geared specifically for all things soccer, but it's amazing to see everyone come together and root for their respective team with no hostility. There's hardly ever a wait and if there is, it's small. Def. a place you should check out if you haven't already done so.

If you're looking for a bar to watch some football (European), this is the spot! It really gave me flash backs of when I lived in France. Club scarves hanging from the ceiling and football (actual football) on the télé. They also had a fairly decent menu and their fish sandwich was delightful!

Flew in from CT this Monday and instead of going straight to the hotel I wanted to watch game 3 of the Euro 2020: The Netherlands vs New Macedonia. I found this spot on Yelp, and decided to give it a try and to order lunch from the Dam BN'er door (also a 4star review). I walked in and asked for coffee. "No, coffee, you can go across the street for coffee." 'No, coffee in a place named after a city in Holland, where people drink more coffee than water?' was my initial thought. "But are you showing the game?" was my verbal response. "Yes, it is on now." Awkward silence... The all of a sudden, a tennis coach-as I was told later, started to talk to me in Dutch. Somehow he picked up my accent, which I thought was lost after 2 decades in the US. The ice was broken... Robert the owner made me an alcohol free mix of juices. And from there on it felt as I was in a familiar place with familiar people. I enjoyed the conversations and the food I ordered from next door, which was delivered by the way. Amsterdam Tavern a great place to watch soccer in St. Louis with an almost Amsterdam feel. Definitely a place to return to. Hope next time they have 'koffie en een koekje,' as Amsterdammers do!

Enjoying a Chiefs game in the huge patio area outside.

This is my favorite sports bar in St.Louis!! You can find just about any soccer match you're interested in showing on at least one screen. Customers are passionate and knowledgeable soccer fans. The staff are GREAT and attentive.

When you think of a great neighborhood bar plus, then this is the place. This is the kind of place you can go to wearing shorts and a tshirt or a soccer jersey. Soccer you say? This place is where soccer fans go to watch both European and American soccer. So I said neighborhood bar plus, the plus being that you can get a great meal from the Dam next door delivered right to your table and an ice cold beer from the bartender, pretty sweet. Now since I'm an American football fan I never know whether to say football or soccer so I'll just stick with soccer and if you're a fan then this is the place for you. Soccer jerseys and scarfs adorning the walls and ceiling. Enough big screens around that you'll have a great view wherever you are. Super friendly patrons and staff this would be my neighborhood haunt if I lived closed by. You need to give this little neighborhood bar a try.

Great nonsmoking soccer bar. They offer a good beer selection which goes well with the food you can order next door at The Dam. If you're not a beer drinker, they're a sports bar and will mix you up a simple bar drink too. The ambiance is definitely soccer. This is the place to be seen watching a World Cup or any soccer game for that matter. Our bartender Matt, was friendly and attentive. He told us about the patio expansion which is going to be great for this coming spring and summer. The Amsterdam has always been a great little bar and now with The Dam next door, it just got better. When: 30 Jan 2014 Why: Enjoying a burger from The Dam

We loved how they had the garage door open for the air to come in on the nice day. The bar / high top are had plenty of space and was very comfortable. They had a great happy hour around 3pm, both our appetizers were on the happy hour menu, as well as our Pinot Grigio drinks. The food was excellent, we had focaccia bread, and fried calamaris. We didn't have them but the wagu sliders and chicken lollipops both were popular at the other table. We also got a white chocolate tiramisu to go that was fantastic. Great bread = Great dessert Really appreciated our waitress / bartender that day, she said she had four grown kids of her own, as well as appreciated the rest of the staff. Unfortunately though, this restaurant seems to have a case of quantity over quality in terms of food items. There are far too many things on the menu for them to perform well at all 40+ menu offerings, or at least that's my opinion of what might be going on here. I ordered a glass of prosecco and the prosciutto con melon appetizer to start. This was actually quite nice flavor wise but if you're going to charge $22 bucks for an appetizer you better load my plate up with prosciutto!!! For me personally, 3 pieces of prosciutto, a pile of arugula and some cantaloupe is not worth 22 dollars. I then ordered a side beet salad and mushroom ravioli. This is where things took a turn for the worse. Beet salad was decent, I just wish they put more of the toppings. Was basically just a bowl of arugula. The mushroom ravioli was sadly a let down for me. The pasta was rolled far too thin on top of the filling and far too thick on the sides so unfortunately the tops of the ravioli were paper thin and overcooked while the sides were still raw. Really unappetizing to cut a ravioli open and see raw pasta. Honestly the flavor was pretty rich but not terrible it's just the ravioli itself wasn't well executed. The lovely waitress noticed that I wasnt completely satisfied and took the ravioli off the check. I ordered some "wagyu" sliders that were juicy but in desperate need of some salt. She also offered me a free dessert which was a warm olive oil cake which had a nice orange flavor to it. Honestly quite a nice ending to an underwhelming meal. Would come back for drinks, though.

The staff at the host stand was less than welcoming and wanted to put our party of 5 adults at a 4 top table. Luckily, the server came over and insisted we take a bigger table that was open. But I live 4 1/2 hours away. The last several times I have been in St. Louis I haven't had time to stop in. But today I was determined to arrange my schedule so I could enjoy a late lunch here. Unfortunately, this turned out to be an extremely disappointing experience. The service was truly abysmal. If I hadn't made such an effort to be here I would have walked out. When I walked in at 2 pm there were only a few occupied tables. One person was waiting to be seated. When the employee took that person to a table she said she would be right back. I waited for several minutes while I observed a few other employees but no one came back to seat me or the other person who had come in behind me and was also waiting. After we had been waiting for several minutes the other person said, "Maybe we should just seat ourselves?" But another employee walked by and said that someone would be with us soon. Finally someone came and led me to a table. Nearly every table in the restaurant was empty but she took me to the very back table, which was facing a stack of upside down chairs, a 5 gallon bucket, and other assorted storage items. She asked if I knew what I wanted but I needed to look at the menu since it was my first visit. That was my first mistake because she disappeared for quite some time before returning. When she finally returned I said I'd like the side of fries with 5 ranch flight. She slapped a paper on the table and told me to mark the ranch flavors I wanted, then she disappeared again. I marked them and waited.....and waited.....and finally she came back to my table and asked, "What was it that you ordered?" I said I hadn't ordered yet then she said, "Oh, right, you wanted a side of fries" and then she walked away as I was attempting to tell her I wanted to order a sandwich too. But she had disappeared. I was talking to her back because she walked away so quickly. It took more than half an hour before she brought my side of fries and ranch out, she laid them on the table and started to walk away and I had to tell her quickly that I wanted to order a sandwich too. I ordered the grilled cheese, thinking it would be quick, as I had already been in the restaurant for nearly an hour. I had wanted to order a side of slaw too but she walked away quickly. I waited another 45 minutes, during which time I kept looking around the restaurant but all the employees seemed to have disappeared. Occasionally I would see an employee briefly appear but no one came near my table. I saw three different employees at different times but after brief appearances they each disappeared. If I had seen my server again I would have asked her to cancel my sandwich order as I couldn't wait any longer but I never saw her. After 45 minutes I was going to leave money on the table and walk out but just then she appeared with my sandwich. I asked for a box as I said I had to leave and she brought the box. No apology for the wait, or thanking me for coming in. This was such a disappointment! Two hours for fries and a grilled cheese sandwich. There were at most four tables with customers in the restaurant and at least three employees so they definitely weren't busy at midafternoon. The fries were good except they weren't hot, just lukewarm. But they would have been excellent if they had been served hot. The seasoning was very good and I enjoyed the 5 ranch flight. Three stars for food, zero for service. Ambiance would have been good if I hadn't been seated at the last table facing storage items. No pictures of my food because I had waited so long that my phone was dead. I noticed that several of the recent reviews are one and two star and mentioned poor service. So maybe this service issue is recent and hopefully will improve in the future.
