Very good pasta! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was considering this place is definitely a college bar scene. The furniture and decor is all classic college town wood; wooden chairs, wooden tables, beer and alcohol posters everywhere. There are unique elevations and large steps so be watchful if you're clumsy or prone to tripping. The climate inside was nice and all of a sudden got very chilly -- we opted to move to an outside table. There is a stage outside so live entertainment must be common there. Our waitress, Sophie, was kind and attentive. The only thing I would have preferred was more transparency on our bill. Items we added weren't listed out, making it seem like we were being overcharged. The groups continued to get larger and larger as the evening went on but our food and other requests were delivered very quickly. read more

Unless you're a SLU student, you probably wouldn't think to check out Humphrey's, but you'd be wrong. It gets pretty busy at nighttime, but it's a great place to grab a quick lunch or early dinner. Standard bar food done really well. I always enjoy one of their salads- portions are huge and everything tastes fresh. I was a big fan of their Beef n Boursin but it doesn't appear to be on the menu any longer. Shoutout to Sarah, whenever she's our waitress she always takes great care of our table. read more

I've been to this place a couple of times at night for the DJ on the weekend, but this time, I came for the food! I ordered the Reuben and curly fries, and my friend had the French dip, also with curlies. I enjoyed the Reuben. The bread was toasted nicely. There was a surprisingly good amount of meat on there, but I would have enjoyed a little more sauer kraut and dressing, because those were just as tasty as the corned beef. The fries were nice and crispy, even eating them after my entire sandwich first. My friend enjoyed his French dip, but didn't report any standout details. It was good, but nothing to write home about. We had some fried pickles for an appetizer, and paired with their sauce, they were our favorite part of the meal: hot, crispy, and tangy. Loved them! As far as atmosphere, the booth we were in was perfect for conversation while the music played. It wasn't too loud, but after 10, expect it to be much louder, because it is a popular night spot being next to SLU dorms. read more

Such a chill environment. I am not sure the peak hours but during the day l have not experienced a wait. The menu has plenty of options. You will receive good quality bar food when you go! & sometimes we just need good comfort food! We love the fact that the owners have renovated and reopened this St Louis fixture, Our previous three experiences since the reopening were fine. However our last experience was not very good. We were attempting to get to a concert and thought we had allowed ourselves ample (1.5 hours) time. We were shuffled between three servers and it took well over an hour to get our very simple order. One of the partners approached us and told us she would comp our drinks for the service we were receiving. She knew the situation (we hadn't complained). To provide further annoyance to this situation, there were only a handful of other customers? After rushing through our meal we received our bill which had comped nothing. We will try Humphrey's again in the future but can only hope our experience was an aberration. read more

Since moving to STL over ten years ago I've been in search Saint Louis's perfect Reuben sandwich. I found it at Humphreys. Staff was enthusiastic, owner was welcoming, and the beer was COLD. Humphrey's is back!!! Lots of us attended a "soft opening" yesterday. During the day it was nice to see the place and watch people come in to enjoy a meal or a drink at the bar (or table). By the time the evening rolled around, this place was PACKED! Honestly, word of mouth must have gotten out so the place was standing room only and the bartenders, servers, security, etc were all working super hard to be accommodating and friendly while also serving hundreds of people. I was able to enjoy a few drinks at the bar and we ate some food (fries, burgers and crab rangoon) while people watching. Our bartenders were super fun throughout the day and night. Stella x 2, Joe, Nico, Sam x3, Logan, Marissa, AJ, Sara, etc....we made lots of friends last night which was EXCELLENT! Now that Humps is back, I can't wait to visit more often for lunches and for happy hours. The patio will be a great spot once the weather warms up, but for now, the inside tables and bar will be where you can find me. Do they still have plunger shots? Yes. Is the floor sticky? Not yet. Is the bathroom clean? Yes. Is the food good? Yes. Drinks? Yes. Seriously, I am so glad this place is back and serving the SLU community and midtown patrons. My sweet, sweet Humphrey's. The day that Hump's closed was a sad day for all. As a SLU grad this was always one of our favorite places and one of those college-y type places that you just have to experience. To get a plunger on your 21st is a right of passage. Who are you if you went to SLU and don't have one?! Getting to go back recently after their re-open was so nostalgic and special. It has been over 5 years!!! I hate to even admit that, but here we are. In any case, we went around dinner time, so it was pretty quiet. This is not the place for a fine meal...it's a place to have a freakin' blast with your college pals. We sat up at the bar where we usually always sat and ordered some drinks and buffalo chicken dip. The dip was a bit chicken heavy so it felt like there was less dip than chips, but still very yummy and came out quick! They are no longer doing the dollar shots, so we were slightly bummed about that, but everything else looked exactly the same. Actually that's not true...the bathrooms were super clean so that was a pleasant surprise haha! Their TouchTunes wasn't turned on or working but WHATEVER IT'S HUMPRHEY'S! I'll be back :) read more

Stopped in for lunch after running a few errands in the area. Bartenders were very courteous, and attentive. The place cannot be called a dive bar, but not upscale either. I got the bacon blue cheeseburger with fries. Burger was good, but not outstanding. Overall a nice place to go though. read more

We came in on a Sunday night for dinner and to watch a football game. It did take a bit before anyone noticed us at the door to seat us, but once we got a table, our experience and service was smooth. They have a surprisingly large menu with a great variety. We ordered a chicken caesar salad, wings, curly fries, and pretzel bites. All of the dishes were super flavorful and fresh. I also scoped out other dishes as they went by my table, and I will be trying a pasta dish next time! There were TVs everywhere and the sound was great. I definitely look forward to coming in to catch other games. My advice to the business: POST YOUR MENU! and make sure your hours are correct on your Google listing. :) read more

I am currently a Junior and I can attest this place is home to so many in the SLU community. If I could give this place 10,000 stars I would. I'd sell my first born for this place, I'd take a bullet for this place, the place better stay open for the next 80 years so my ashes can be spread on the back patio. Humphrey's has brightened up my day more times then I can count and you will never meet a bad person there. Everyone who works at Hump's are amazing, kind, hilarious people who, you can really tell, would do anything for the place or its customers. AND THE FOOD.... NOT YOUR AVERAGE BAR FOOD! Humphrey's bucks the trend of frozen sports bar food and makes several items from scratch. Wings were great. My daughter that doesn't like meat on the bone tried them and finished an entire order. Wife had a salad that looked fresh and she liked it. Youngster had a steak sandwich that tasted good as leftovers, and the trickles were really good, which is saying a lot because I don't like pickles. It's great to see that Humphrey is back. read more
