Came here with the parents. We ordered chicken tikka masala, shrimp masala, fish vindaloo, and some garlic naan. You can choose between 1 and 6 for spice level, and we did 5 for the chicken and shrimp and 6 for the fish. I like pretty spicy food but not so spicy where you are drinking water every couple of bites. The chicken and shrimp weren't very spicy at all but our waiter said that may be because of the cream sauce in those dishes. The fish was definitely more spicy but I could have done spicier. Overall one of the better indian places I have been to in Columbus because of the quality of food and the price was decent with our entrees costing around $15 a piece. Will be back again! read more

This is my go-to Indian restaurant in Columbus. They have a great lunch buffet during the week and on the weekends it's a little bigger with more offerings. When I come for dinner I normally get the tikka masala or bhartha, which are both delicious. I switched things up when I came last time and tried the Kadahi ginger paneer. It was not at all what I expected but it was so good! It was creamy but had a lot of spice and flavor to it and wasn't too heavy. I always go with some of the garlic naan too. New ownership. Terrible food. This was the worst Indian food I've ever had. I just ordered Chicken Saag and an order of Naan from Amul to be delivered via Uber Eats. The food arrived quickly, but the food itself was terrible. First, the chicken in my Chicken Saag wasn't the large pieces of chicken that is typically used in this dish, but was instead tiny pieces of diced chicken like you'd see in a cheap can of Campbell's Chicken Soup. Honestly, I don't know if it was even chicken. Additionally, the Naan was hard and crusty. Barely edible. I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine and I previously had good luck with Amul India, but I was very disappointed in the food I received from Amul India today. Amul has done the impossible and got me on the bandwagon for Indian cuisine. I'm not usually fond of Indian food because it's so heavy and makes me want to go on a food coma after a meal. However, something about Amul is so much lighter than countless of other places I've tried. I think it's the sauce which seems to be less thick than usual which I actual like because it brings out the fresh spices and ingredients of each dish. This is my Indian friend's go-to restaurant (he grew up in India) and his relatives have said that this is the most authentic restaurant they've been to in the 20 years they've been in America! I honestly can't remember the names of all the dishes I've tried here but don't be afraid to try anything on the menu because it has yet to disappoint. This was delicious! I ordered the Kulfi... Best ice cream dish I've had in a long time and they packed it with ice so it would make it to my hotel. Mango Lassi was fanominal! It was sweet, but not overly sweet. The Chef' Special nan is wonderful and it pairs nicely with their tomato soup. The only this I was disappointed in was the go I Pakora, it was tasteless... The Kadahi chicken was one of the best dishes I've ever had, and everything else we ordered was delicious too (mixed biryanis and tikka chicken). Wandered into this lovely little spot while waiting for my tires to be replaced across the street. It's gray and overcast and the perfect day for lamb curry and chai. Both were fantastic -- rich and flavorful with exactly the right amount of requested heat. The portion for one person was big enough to take home for a little late night snack. The food was delicious, PAY ATTENTION TO THE STAR RATING! They aren't joking! My cousin ordered 4 stars as, when in California, he'd gotten bland food at 3 stars, he was almost overwhelmed. Nice place for a lunch buffet and one of the only Indian places I know of with a weekend buffet. There buffet is a great value. Definitely try their chili paneer appetizer - it's delicious! If you're in the mood to try lots of different things, I'd recommend what we do - get the Thali- my husband and I often split one vegetarian thali and one non-vegetarian thali to get a good mix of food. Had a wonderful dinner her with a team from work. Bronan (our waiter) was knowledgeable and attentive! He had no problem leading us through the menu, spice level, and providing recommendations. First of all, they have a great wine menu with extremely reasonable prices for bottles. We ordered a bottle and started with the Samosas and Paneer Chili - both flavorful and fresh. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (level 6 spice) - the flavor was rich and not too buttery. But it was NOT spicy. I would have enjoyed it more if it has slightly more heat. Chicken makhani and basmati rice fans rejoice! They didn't overdo it with the "buttery/creamy" flavors found at other midwest Indian restaurants AND the rice isn't al dente. I probably should have written this review sooner because I returned to this place at least 5 more times after my first visit. I honestly really liked Amul! Their food was very delicious! I don't usually eat samosa; however, their samosa was just so tasty. My favorite - and it is probably many people's favorite is chicken tikka marsala! Now I am thinking about it... I got hungry! Mango lassi was also really good! Would recommend! This drink has just about the right density not too watery. I personally do think lunch buffet is a better deal so probably come during lunch time if you can and go for dinner for the items that you won't normally see at the buffet! Really wanted to like this place. Sooooo average and overpriced! Vegans beware! They're unable (or unwilling) to make rice without butter in it. Mystery. Also, there was cheese in my vegan aloo gobi. I'm very sorry to have to give a negative review, because the food is very good -- the best Indian food I've had in Columbus. However, I just went to the lunch buffet and was very dismayed. I arrived just before 2pm, knowing the buffet ended at 2:30. If I hadn't made it by then I wouldn't have gone, because I don't like to keep people late. A few minutes before 2:30, the server let me know the buffet was closing soon in case I wanted dessert, which was fine. What's not fine is, before I could finish my masala tea, another server came by and said, "I'm sorry, we're closed." I would have been gone in five minutes anyway, and I really resented being pushed out the door in that way. If you seat someone near closing time, you need to let them finish. Otherwise, stop seating earlier. If you treat your customers like an inconvenience, they won't come back. read more
