It was my first time yesterday to visit a salon since I transferred here to NYC. I wasn't hesitant at all to go and get my hair done with Kristeia since she's been the hairstylist of my friends and my spouse, and their hair looks absolutely gorgeous! I found Kristeia by sheer good luck. I am growing out my greys, which seems not to be very supported typically by hairstylists, Kristeia was encouraging of this, which earned my respect. Next, she was honest, and suggested I chop off all the old color, which I did. She gave me an easy, stylish, and feminine cut, which was exactly what I wanted. These reviews must not be real. Or maybe they are paid for by Kristea? I had Kristea cut my hair right before my baby was due. My hair was long and easy to manage (I'm Asian, this hair is easy) yet somehow I came out looking like I got into, and lost, a fight with a pair of scissors. It didn't look totally even to me but then months later, when I finally had time to leave my newborn, the next hairdresser I went to confirmed my hair was completely crooked - as much as an inch in some spots. I explained to this new hairdresser that I found Kristea via Yelp and he explained to me that a ton of people pay for positive reviews. Well, I paid too...with my hair. My daughter is now 4 months and my hair still looks a mess. Not ideal given I already feel blah about y appearance post baby. I would never recommend this place to anyone - and this coming from someone who has gone to probably 15+ different salons in the city for haircuts and never had an issue. read more
