Unfortunately, my friend and I had an experience here that left us feeling very uncomfortable. We are both women of color, and while sitting at our table, I noticed that other customers who were white were being offered and served water, while we were not. I eventually had to specifically ask for water. What made the situation stand out even more was watching another white customer sit down and immediately be offered water without having to ask. Seeing the difference in how we were treated compared with other customers did not sit right with me. I can't speak to anyone's intentions, but I can speak to how the experience made us feel: overlooked, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. Something as basic as offering water should be consistent for every guest, regardless of who they are. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be returning. read more

A fantastic Thai spot in Flatbush, right by Prospect Park. You are immediately greeted by the staff, whom are super friendly and hospitable. The drinks are fantastic, especially their cocktails. The food is just as food as any other Thai restaurants in NYC. Would highly recommend if you happen to be in the area and craving Thai food. Heck, you should stop by if you're just looking for drinks too. Here's what we ended up getting on a wonderful Saturday afternoon: Guava Collins ($11) - I have no idea what liquor base this was as I didn't care at the time. And now I wonder what it is and will never find out now until I go back, whenever I find myself in Flatbush again. But I love the sweet taste of guava and pair it with liquor, you can imagine how that tastes. Lychee Lavender Lemonade ($5) - Non alcoholic drink, but the combination of lychee and lemonade goes really well together. Pumpkin Curry Puffs ($11) - Not your typical curry puff. This might be the first time I've had it with pumpkin and I like it! Roti Massaman w Chicken ($10) - I was in a roti mood so I ordered this. I would order a rice dish so the curry doesn't go to waste. Seafood Pad See Ew ($41) - Might have been my favorite dish. It feels a bit overboard with the seafood combo selection, but I loved it (peep the photo for a better idea what's in it or just ask the staff). Duck Panang Curry ($25) - This dish was alright. The duck may have been cooked a bit too long where some of the meat dried out. I guess you can mask it with the curry, but if you're looking for flaws, this is it. After visiting a friend's apartment near the Prospect Park Q station, I decided to go to Amy Thai bistro on a cold, rainy night. I didn't get the full experience considering I placed an order for pick up. The service was quick and easy. The restaurant seemed small with seating for 12-15 people. There was a constant stream of people coming in and out for pick up orders. One of the patrons told me that this was the best Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. I ordered the drunken noodles with seafood combination. The food was fresh and delicious. The entrée consisted of stir fried broad noodles, onion, bell pepper, tomato, broccoli, long hot chili, basil leaves and egg in chili basil sauce. The seafood combination included filet of sole fish, shrimp and squid and was a recent addition to the menu according to the hostess. I was also able to choose the spice level., which I greatly appreciated The dish seemed pricey at $22. Had I noticed the beef or shrimp protein option was only $17, I may have chosen one of those instead. Visitors also have the choice of mock duck, duck or salmon steak. For $16, one can choose veggie, tofu, or chicken protein options. I hope to return soon for a in-person restaurant experience. read more

The food is consistently amazing. I have come for brunch, lunch, dinner and ordered to go. Everything is delicious! I love the thai tea, lychee martini, and the lychee lemonade. Amy Thai Bistro is an authentic Thai restaurant that opened in Brooklyn, New York in August 2019. It was founded by Thai restaurateur Karnchana "Amy" Vongsawat. Relocating to New York City from Thailand in 2001, Vongsawat had originally planned to only stay in the United States for two years. While a student at LaGuardia Community College, she worked as a waitress and met her future business partner Boonnum Tongngeon. Together, the duo opened Am Thai Bistro in Brooklyn's Prospect Park South neighborhood in 2012 to much success. Eventually the partners decided to open their own separate restaurants while still simultaneously operating Am Thai. Vongsawat heard about a vacant restaurant in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. This would be the location for Amy Thai Bistro. The menu features traditional Thai dishes such as Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle. My family and I visited Amy Thai Bistro this past summer while we were spending the day in Brooklyn. We were visiting the Prospect Park Zoo earlier in the day and were looking for a place to have lunch that was within walking distance. Amy Thai Bistro came highly recommended on Yelp. The place was small but cozy and inviting; the staff were very friendly and helpful. We started off first with some delicious fruity cocktails. I ordered a "Piña Colada", my wife had a "Mango Margarita", and her sister had a "Lychee Margarita". For entrees, I had "Thai Chicken Fried Rice" (stir fried rice, egg, onion, Chinese broccoli, scallion & cherry tomato), my wife had "Chicken Drunken Noodle" (stir fried broad noodles, onion, bell pepper, tomato, broccoli long hot chili, basil, egg in chili basil sauce), my sister-in-law had "Chicken Pineapple Curry" (coconut milk, pineapple, cherry tomato, bell pepper & basil), her boyfriend has "Chicken Basil Sauce" (sautéed string bean, onion, long hot chili, bell pepper, fresh basil in chili basil sauce), and my older son had "Chicken Pad Thai" (stir fried rice noodles, beansprout, scallion, crunched peanut & egg in Pad Thai sauce). I ordered the lavender lemonade with lychee and the drunken noodles with shrimp. The lemonade was a little sweet but after adding some water and letting the ice melt a little it was perfect. The drunken noodles had the perfect amount of spice. The broccoli and veggies were cooked to perfection and the shrimp was juicy. I easily made a reservation and was greeted and seated quickly. I was intrigued by all of the positive reviews for Amy's and was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop in. I did not regret it! I was seated right away and the staff was courteous and efficient. I started out with Amy's Crab Rangoons, they were so crispy and tasty - fried to perfection with a distinct crunch and creamy and flavorful inside. They were served with a delicious sauce as well that added a sweet punch to the dish! For my main course I got the Pad See Ew with vegetables, which was also delicious. They were overall very generous with their portion sizes so I went home with leftovers, which made the prices feel very fair for the amount of food you get! The hostess insisted on putting us at a 2 person table and they were nowhere near busy. I sat at one table and my friend sat at the table next to it. The service was just ok, we were sat at a poorly lit table so we asked to be sat by the window but was told no in case a party of 4 came in..... that table remained unoccupied the entire duration of our visit. Our server switched between herself and one other person to take care of my table and it seems communication wasn't seamless between the two because there was confusion a few times.
