I wish I had checked Yelp before unfortunately letting this woman steal my money. The worst experience! I am assuming the owner demanded that I pay her cash prior to getting my pants hemmed, and I know why. The seamstress is very rude! She charged me $16. I asked about the string tying the pants together and she waved me off and said she would fix it with the hem of the waist. I picked up the pants and the string on the pants was still stripped. She said I should have asked her about this prior to hemming the waist! She said I could go to Hobby Lobby and get string and let her steal an additional $10 of my money to actually do what I paid for in the first place. Never again! Someone needs to shut this place down by opening a place next door that actually does the work that they are paid to do! read more

$45 to hem a dress, I pick it up, Instead of hemming, she cut the bottom off, very uneven and too short to hem, it's floor length. To even the ragged hem, it's now too short and too late to buy another dress for a wedding a few days away.... my granddaughter's wedding .The second dress was $65 to taper and take in....which are the same thing. It wasn't done, simply not taken in or tapered. Third dress was $35 to hem the sleeves, it was done, but so sloppy it's not wearable. I have the receipt and photos. read more

AVOID! She didn't do the work requested after demanding that she is prepaid. Horrific business owner and a lazy seamstress. IMO, she didn't do the work requested at all and stole my $55, then refused to give a refund, ruining my skirt and evening. Instead of measuring carefully, cutting, and hemming, she ripped the fabric in a circle and sewed only the edge, but there was no dress hem. Instead, it resembles a serge machine stitch. I brought a pricey taffeta ball gown skirt in to be hemmed. I tried it on; she marked the hem with chalk for a minute. I requested a two-inch dress hem, and the skirt measured to be worn with flats. I was wearing flats while the skirt was marked to be sewn. I said I wanted an inch shorter to not trip on the voluminous skirt. A week later, I received a skirt that was too long to walk safely, almost the same length as purchase. What she did was certainly not a professional hem used on formal wear. Instead, it was a ragged, ripped mess. Her reasoning was that was the way I gave it to her! On top of all, she was smug and unapologetic and said she did not care about bad reviews. I would leave a negative star rating if I could. this is the absolute WOST alterations I have ever had done. Two weeks out for an event I picked up my mom and I's dresses and we're in absolute shock by the work. One dress was taken in with hot glue! Completely ruining the sides of the dress with holes. My mom's dress had rhinestones and half of those were torn off and the sleeves were ruined by her stitching. In absolute shock. We will have to either order new dress or see if there is any way to salvage it. DO NOT GO unless you want your items ruined. She charged a good bit as well. I normally do not write bad reviews, especially against a small business, but I am very upset after leaving this place. I had originally brought in 2 dresses so school logos ($10 each) could be added to them. When I went to pick them up, I was told one of the dresses had been lost. I understand these things happen and asked what was the protocol for this issue. I was told to go buy new dress (an inconvenience) and she would reimburse me for the dress and do the logo for free. Sounds good. I decided to purchase 3 dresses. The dresses were $20 each. When I brought those back in I asked if, instead of reimbursement for the dress, I could just get the logos for the other 2 dresses (a value of $20). She agreed. I just went to pick up all three dresses. She tells me that her daughter had found the original dress that was lost and said I would have to pay for the other 3 new dresses to be embroidered. I explained that she had not left a message or texted to tell me her daughter had found the dress (which wasn't true because it was not the same brand as the original dress) and that I still expected her to keep our original deal since I would not have spent $20 on a new dress. She said that since she gave me a new dress with the logo, that we were even and she would not put the logos on any of the new dresses without me paying her. This is unacceptable. The inconvenience of this situation is the main issue. Had I not had old dresses for my daughter to wear, I would have had ONE dress to send her to school in for 3 weeks. I have use Amy's in the past and the alterations have been hit or miss, but good enough for me to continue doing business there. After this, I will NEVER return. read more

I brought a dress to Amy's and not only did they ruin it by cutting too much material off on the right side, they fought me about getting a refund. I gave them the opportunity to fit the hem; however, the dress still did not fall right and was uneven. I did get a refund for the dress but they refused to refund the hem price. Bottom line, the customer service is awful and take your business elsewhere. read more

I'm not very pleased with the service I received. I had scheduled service to replace the main zipper of my purse because it kept opening along its length and it wouldn't stay closed. I had been quoted (in writing) $15-$30 for the service -- which was supposed to be zipper replacement. When I took the purse in, she insisted that she only needed to add one zipper-tooth, and that was the problem. I left the purse with her. After I picked it up the zipper continued to pop open, and it would NOT stay closed. I took the purse back, and she looked at me like I had two heads when I told her the zipper still popped open. She took hold of the purse and yanked at the areas below and above the zipper, trying to tug them apart. She insisted the zipper was fixed, even though I had photos on my phone with the zipper open in the middle. So I asked what it would cost to replace the zipper. She first said she didn't have the right color zipper. I asked the cost again, and she said $50, which is higher than the original quote for the replacement. I'm not happy with the service, and she was very rude and dismissive when I said it still wasn't fixed. I will NEVER set foot in this shop again! read more

I brought an expensive dress here to be hemmed smaller as it was too big on me. They said it would be ready in a week but continued to push the date back three times. I finally got the dress and the stitching was already falling apart. Strings were left hanging off uncut and two flaps of the dress were hemmed uneven. The dress was left looking lopsided. Stains were on the side of the dress as well. She also sewed up the zipper so that I cannot zip it down all the way. The stitching was very poorly done and material was left bunched up where the stitching is. This was a hasty and poor quality job. Will not ever be going back to this place. I had to spend time cutting the strings and washing stains out. Will probably have to bring it somewhere else to be fixed. read more

Absolutely Horrible, went in with a prom dress for a hem $85 later picked it up and the dress and lining were not hemmed ONLY cut (awful job at cutting it). I pointed out that the dress was not hemmed only cut and still charged me hemming cost. She took the dress and started to hem the lining while I waited. The lining was partially hemmed and for an alteration shop it was hemmed upward not turned under - very poor job - it has gaps not completely sewn. Extremely disappointing with the cost and service. Recently brought several items in to have hems in pants, and sleeves shortened on coats. Amy did wonderful work for me back in November so I expected the same this go round. Boy was I wrong...pants hems are not even on any of the pants and stray threads on everything. and The hours posted on the door were not honored, nor were estimates for the work needed. I was quoted a week, I returned on the 7th day and the items were not ready. Tried 3 times (day 9,10, &11) after the rescheduled date (day 9) and store was always closed before 6pm. Finally took off early to go and rescue my clothes from captivity. There was also another patron in the parking lot experiencing the same frustration of the store being closed early. Definitely won't go back and will be taking everything to another tailor. Also, she only takes Cash or Venmo, so you can not dispute the charges for services not as implied/requested. read more

I would even give this place 1 star ... I was charged 59.00 for a hem . When I picked up my dress it was horrible , it was uneven all the way around with it 2 inches shorter on one side.. not to mention the stitching was so bad it was pulled and twisted too .. they could only remedy it by making it shorter on the other side . Couldn't fix the stitching which was ruined ... I had bought my shoes when she measured , so what happened ? I couldn't wear the dress .. it was so short I would have had to wear flats , this was for my daughters wedding . I ended up having to purchase another dress.... the dress they ruined was &950.00.. they didn't not even refund the alteration charge ... I would never recommend this place to anyone .... I purchased a pair of lululemon workout pants but I didn't want to drive far to get them hemmed even though lululemon offer free alterations. I took them to Amy's alteration and asked to get them shortened. They did an amazing job as usual. The stitching is exactly how it would be done from the lululemon store.
