Just stopped here for a quick snack after attending a small local craft fair in the park. We got two egg rolls and a baked char siu bao to share. Price was reasonable and the food was tasty! We'd taken it with us to a brewery to munch on. If we'd eaten it there at the restaurant, I might have been tempted to order more food. I don't get up to Rio Linda very often, though. I will keep this place in mind. read more

This is the most disgusting food i have had. We went there and bought a couple of meals for our family to eat. All of spit it out and could not eat any of it. We ended up throwing it away. I would not recommend this place. Hopefully a better place will open around in the future. read more

I could give every single worker a big fat wet kiss. This is the best Chinese food I've had in California. My friend came back to visit Florida, and he immediately wanted some Amy's. Gross! Food taste burnt , the orange chicken was like slop.. very nasty the rice tasted burnt and the teriyaki chicken was tougher then leather! Only thing I could eat was the egg rolls !! And they were 2.99 EACH and small !!! I got a plate that I could not eat and 2 egg rolls that damn near cost the same as the whole plate !!! Lady was rude I ask for small portions and she said she did not sell small portions... Seriously... ok.... But very disappointed and will not ever go back! Now the donut shop next door is FIRE!!! We've been to Amy's before & they went down hill from before. They used to give decent portions & that's without the price increases. Now with the increases the portion gotten smaller. The worst of it all the Hot & Sour soup. Which lack all components! There's no mushrooms, no meat, no bamboo & no tofu. It tastes so sweet that we ended up throwing it away. Amy's is your typical hole in the wall with fire Chinese food. Nothing fancy but expect good food, good prices, and good service! In the 10+ years we have been coming here, never had an issue. Their menu is pretty consistent but they introduce new dishes and foods every couple of months which is great. I always get their peking spare ribs and cream cheese wontons. read more

Would not go back here! The vegan options here are minimal to none and it disappoints me. I tried the egg flower soup, which they said was vegan friendly, but then I found out there was egg white and chicken broth in the soup. I should've gotten the vegetable chow mein. Won't be coming back! read more

Now I've had a bad experience in the past with Amy's cafe but let me tell you that they have got on top of their stuff!! The teriyaki chicken is great and the fried rice with the chili and garlic oil is amazing in my opinion !! Now I will say it's not a five star because the black pepper chicken I think it's called was not top tier but it was good overall I would definitely recommend this plate ! The thing to get here is the fried chicken. Don't get anything else. Everything else taste okay. But the fried chicken.... fried to perfection. Not too dry. Goes perfect with steamy white rice. It is pretty expensive but I get it inflation is high now. Mom and pop shop trying to survive in tough times. I would return but only to get the chicken. read more

Pros: cheap, quick Cons: everything else. This was almost unrecognizable "Chinese" food. We identified the fried rice and chow mein but they had almost no flavor. The pork tasted off, like it was spoiled. (We got BBQ pork which came in a sauce--not supposed to--and sweet and sour pork that managed to look grey and slimy.) I was supposed to get teriyaki chicken which looked like a stew and was chewy. The orange chicken was spicy and gummy. The broccoli beef was mostly broccoli but the beef was okay. The egg rolls were weird--dipped in a thick batter and fried. It seemed as if all of the food had been sitting for a long time. Sadly, it wasn't cheap because we ended up not eating it and throwing it away, which I hate to do. We were worried about eating it as it all tasted off, especially the pork. Bottom line: This was really bad and questionable food. Not worth it. read more

When I get a chance to stop by in Rio Linda I come here. Reasonable pricing and Chinese food by 1,2 or 3 item combo style. They have pork buns on Fridays. Noodle soup which I have never tried. Amy is super cool and great to chat with. Go here and support a great business and say hi to Amy. Good food at good prices. read more

This could have easily have been a 5 star review, lets start with what is right. Portions are great no skimping here. For the most part they are very friendly and fast. The place is clean as is the kitchen. Amy has worked hard to make this work. Her dad used to cook, he was a better cook than the ones that they have had of late. So what is not good. The cook is lazy. The object of chop-sticks is to have the food bite sized to fit into your mouth. He dose not understand this, Big Chunks of Chicken, BBQ Pork that are sometime 3 bites and I have a big bite. The Broccoli Beef Broccoli Is huge. The beef in it is tuff and requires cutting as it size in wrong for the dish. Tastes great. The fried Shrimp is often over cooked on the outside and raw doughy inside. It is on to thick to cook as fast as they do it. Lower temp and longer cook would fix it. or less batter. A few minutes of prep would fix this and make it a 5 star. Picky is picky... I always stop at Amy's when I'm in town , today was a big disappointment, first of all I was by myself, and always enjoyed the deep fried prawns, 13.00 for sixteen prawns, I asked for just a half order and was told 11.00 for it? That did not make sense, so I opted for the full order, when I asked if napkins were in the bag , I was told yes, when i got home , about 18 miles away, opened the box , and the prawns were way overcooked, and the fry oil they use had not been changed in days! I ate three of them , and threw the rest out (gross). If had lived close by I would have brought them back, never going back there again ! read more

Amys has been in Rio Linda for over a decade now and the quality and consistency has gone down over the years :( i have to admit, i miss the burgers & fries! I went in ordered 3 plates paid $27 asked for 5 hot sauces was told they could only give . When I asked to get a refund because I did not want to not enjoy mu food do to a teaspoon of hot sauce I was given a attitude. The server then as she was throwing 2 additional hot Spain's mumble something u see her breathe. The customer service is getting bad. The owner is no longer there. I have no proBlem putting more hot sauce on my plate if they had the container on the table. If it such a problem to give hot sauce maybe it's not worth binging my business there read more

Stopped in 30 minutes before they close. You would think for a steam table establishment this would be a bad decision. It wasn't! The sesame chicken was D LISH! The ladies who run the cafe were super nice and pointed out what was freshest. I just moved to Rio Linda and I'm super happy to find a good place for Chinese food! I don't know if Amy's has been sold to someone else but over the past year, they have not been good at all! I had stopped going there because my granddaughter got sick from their food. I waited 6 months before going back and again. The noodles were old and hard, the fried wontons were fried in old grease with very little filing, the orange chicken was mostly fried dough and a speck of chicken, the fried rice was old and tasteless. I have resolved not to go there ever again. I think others feel the same way because usually there is a line, but now you hardly see anyone in there anymore. I'm over it! read more

I ordered to go from this place today, and I had the worst food experience in a long time. The shrimp was in a tasteless batter, that was sweet, and yechy. The shrimp was not edible, it was rubbery, and again tasteless. The white rice was dry, and went down my throat w/ difficulty. It was awful. Surprisingly, the lemon chicken was well made, but could have had more lemon sauce, it was rather sparse. W/ all the Asian places around, I would choose another, definitely! read more

Decided to try this place as our usual CF Chengs, on Arena Blvd, was closed. Terrible mistake. I ordered Wonton Soup, Chicken Fried Rice and Broccoli Beef. My husband threw away the soup. The broth had a very meaty pork taste and the wontons tasted of cheap meat with no flavor. The Broccoli Beef had a whitish gravy and no flavor. The chicken fried rice was ok. Average entree was 13.00 when I'm used to seeing 16-17 dollars in other places. I'm not going to tell you everything was tasty because most dishes weren't seasoned better even though there were plenty of sauce in each dish. The batter on the sweet and sour pork, orange chicken was falling off and mushy by the time I got home. To be fair, Cantonese food tends to to be less salty, so having your own oyster or fish sauce will help save these dishes. If you like quantity over quality, this place is for you. Prices are reasonable also, so in this economy, it's time to be less picky. I will be back, remember to order by phone and save the fees.

Their chow mein and fried rice is also spot on. This last time I had to add a tiny bit of soy sauce to my chow mein, but I'd rather have it that way than it being overly salty. But after adding a tiny bit of soy sauce, it was perfect. My family has 2 other places we order Chinese food from. But this place has definitely become one of our go to #1 places because the prices are great and the food is consistently good. What more could you ask for? Usually I provide pictures, but I couldn't wait and wanted to immediately scarf this delicious food down. My favorite one to order is the sesame chicken; make it spicy, over fried rice. The breaded chicken has a nice crunch to it and is never soggy. The food is always hot, flavorful and fresh. The potstickers are not frozen but freshly made and they're my favorite in the Sacramento area. The customer service is always very friendly and welcoming. Their interior is a little small but they have seating for twos, fours and groups. If you're looking for somewhere new for lunch & dinner, then I highly recommend this place. Now when I call to order the same thing, there is nothing but confusion. They will only offer me pan-fried noodles or chow mein. I'm not sure why I used to order it the way I prefer without issue, but now causes problems. Anyway, finally went home and made it myself. Came out pretty close. Would have been nice to save the 45 minutes and kitchen mess. First world problems I guess. Atmosphere is minimalist, but generally clean.

They were more like beef and shui mai paste. The sticky rice was good. I loved that they had salty egg yolks in them. The eggplant with shrimp paste is fried. The sticky rice, however, and the tripe were delicious sui mai, and ha gao were pretty good, with the sui mai being pretty juicy. We paid $100 for 10 dishes! I know prices have gone up everywhere but this felt pretty steep. Overall, I don't think we'd come back. I would rather go to South Sacramento and eat dim sum there and then get my Asian grocery shopping done. Restaurant itself looked like a standard Chinese dim sum restaurant. Nothing to write home about.

The food was ready. We ordered lemon chicken and chicken fried rice. The lemon chicken was good. It could have used more lemon flavor but I would definitely order it again. The chicken fried rice was exceptional. Another thing I would definitely order again. It had big pieces of chicken in it. The restaurant seemed clean from what I could tell. There were a few tables set up and most of them were full. While I waited outside for my order I saw dozens of people come and go with their orders. If you go by sheer number of people eating there this is the place to go.
