    General tso's combo plate
    Brian G.

Stopped by for an after work dinner. This is a very typical Chinese American restaurant that looks a bit dated, but with cheap food and huge portions. General tso's combo plate: C+ It was a huge mound of food so I'm happy about that, it's a good value for the price. The food was on the greasy side. The chicken wasn't really crispy because of how much sauce it's drenched in. The chow mein and fried rice were just okay in terms of taste.

As I walk in the place was empty and no one was at the counter but when the lady finally came to the counter service was alright wasn't over the top but also wasn't the worst she was not talkative and didn't know much about the menu until she saw the tip now about the food it is decent but not like top tier I can kinda tell the focus on quantity and not quality cause it's average and that's even a stretch the chilli oil is also not the best I wouldn't recommend the house fried rice on the French fries !! P.S the French fries were bad and not fresh or salted

We come here all the time for Chinese Food. And for some reason today was not the day. I'm surprised they cook the food like this and packed the way it was. It was a pick up order and once food got home, came to this surprised. super confused on what happen. New cook? New owners?? Compared photos to owners on Yelp.. Very disappointing and especially spending $135 dollars. Literally everything was dark. We tossed the food

House Family meal are well worth it, food taste great and very affordable prices. I add the salt and pepper fried chicken wings are a perfect addition. All that for $56!

For a little place that's is a hole in the wall it was DELICIOUS. it was empty and the inside is t that amazing of environment but sometimes those are the best restaurants. My husband got the General Chicken combination plate and we shared the cream cheese (no crab) wontons, war wonton soup and I had some jalapeno chicken. The war wonton soup is probably the best I've ever had. Flavorful and amazing. The wontons were light and crisp, not thick wrapping like some places. The rice and chow mein were also so full of flavor. The good came out so fast too I was impressed. I'm gonna be coming here for my soup fix from now on. And this place was SO AFFORDABLE for the portion sizes and quality

I love the price here for good food. I order Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice. The flavor was good. Although the beef meat still has a little chewy. Not as tender. The service was fast and polite.

After passing by many days finally decided to go in and try it out, and I'm glad i did! Solid Chinese food for a good price! The food was flavorful and they gave a decent amount. We had the black pepper chicken combo plate with chow mein and rice, and the mongolian beef with fried rice lunch special. Both were fantastic. We'll be eating here again for sure.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem and can easily be overlooked in an older shopping center off Northgate, but don't give it a second thought. Give them a try, you won't regret it! I've had this place many times over the years, and it wasn't until recently a friend brought me back. It's one of the only good chinese restaurants left in Sacramento! Let me give the compliment that even after years the quality and taste is still amazing and hasn't changed. The hot n sour soup is amazing especially if you're feeling under the weather. The jalapeño chicken is my ultimate favorite chicken dish. The sesame chicken isn't bad. But there's just something about the sauce on the jalapeño chicken that keeps you coming back for more. This is also one of the only chinese restaurants that still allows indoor dining after COVID. The small indoor seating leaves a warm family feel and the staff is very friendly. The food is always hot and fresh and ready by the time I arrive. Large portions too!

Do they still offer the buffet option ? If so, what is the price for lunch?

The lunch buffet is longer available at this time. Many choices available on the menu, including combination plates, and family meals at a value. Thank you.

    Are you open Christmas?

We will be open on 24th, closed on 25th and 26th. Happy holidays, Thank you.

Do you have any gluten free options?

Of course! Many dishes don’t include any grain proteins at all. I’d say most sautés are safe. Avoid any dishes with batter or we can always make an alternative batter with corn or potato starch by request. Or you can always make a request to exclude…

YH is a fun place to go to because the exterior and bathrooms scream Macaroni Grill, but walking inside it becomes a classic Chinese dim sum banquet hall! This review is based on their dim sum menu. Yue Huang has a bunch of options and my wife and I intend to eat through their entire menu to try to distill our favorite things. So far we have thoroughly enjoyed their shanghai pan-fried buns, steam rice roll w/breadstick, steam golden shrimp rice roll, and crispy pork belly. I highly recommend you go with a group of adventurous eaters because as any good dim sum veteran knows: more people means more dishes you can try!

The AI said it was top rated, and we had never been. By 7pm the dining room was busy, many of the parties Asian We ordered a pot of tea, crispy pork, potstickers, roast duck, honey bbq pork and the house noodle dish Yue Huang Chow Fun which had shrimp and chicken. THE PROS: Nice sit down restaurant decor. Large tables and cushy upholstered chairs. Not a strip mall cubicle. They have actually been awarded Michelin Honors three times. Portions were good sized, and flavors were nice. THE CONS: Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by everything. All of the dishes arrived just warm. Staff never checked on us - not once - until we asked for some to-go boxes. They have two large tvs in the dining room, showing a loop of the restaurant I'm currently sitting in. The music in the dining area must have been on "Slow Girl Ballad" station on Spotify's free tier- as we honestly listed to a 10 min Samsung commercial in between songs - and not at a low volume. BOTTOM LINE: Maybe we were the exception- as there were clearly enough patrons to show it is a popular - but nothing about our experience made us want to come again. I guess we didn't see what the Michelin people saw. PRICE: $80

That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

My goal is to come here during dine downtown week in January to try that menu since I hear it's worth it. For parking, it's either street parking or you can do valet parking in the garage right next door. There is no self parking in the garage. Street parking is self parking. The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition.
