The young man at the counter was very polite and helpful. His service was outstanding. During our visit, we were the only ones there. Through our meal, only two customers came in 42 go orders.And this was a lunchtime. Perhaps they have a larger dinner business.Hopefully, business as well.And they stay open. We had lunch at Yi Long on a weekday in Natomas, Sacramento. Interestingly, they don't have lunch specials, but they do have a special list of combo plates that are available all day long. We ordered the orange chicken with bbq fried rice and the broccoli beef with white rice. Each combo plate comes with a spring roll. To upgrade to fried rice or chow mein, it's an extra $2.50. The orange chicken was breaded and fried and tasted good. The server said they used oranges from their backyard...it was good! I liked the bbq fried rice too. The broccoli beef was good as well. The spring roll was okay, but tasted much better with dipping sauce. I've been to Yi Long many years ago when they first opened and had good experiences. However, they had switched owners approximately 5 months ago and the new menu is slightly different (no baked dim sum items). We went here New Year's Day and there was nobody inside. We ordered wonton soup, shrimp dumplings, shiu mai, xiao long bao, pan-fried soup bao, pan-fried chive dumpling, wonton in red chili oil, and beef wrap roll. The food came out right away and we ate away. Not a long wait. My favorite was the shiu mai, xiao long bao, pan-fried chive dumpling, and wonton in red chili oil. Shiu mai tasted fresh. Favorites were tasty. The whole table did not like the beef wrap roll with fresh onions inside that was so strong. You have to ask for the chopsticks which surprised everybody. The staff is friendly and nice. Spacious inside. Outside there were a lot of people just hanging out so I do not know how it is at night. Thank you. Take care. Food- very very good, but the good ol' fave of "it's not SF" is a fitting description. Service- we were the only ones there are the time so we were waited on just fine. Ambiance- place was empty. I think there was an employee sitting at one other table but other than that, empty. Kinda nuts to have illustrations of the dishes on the walls. Eh. Big arse spoons- I didn't order soup dumplings, nor soup so it was there for looks. Mmkay sure. WiFi- nope. The place next door (Domino's) had an open system so sure. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday, thinking this was a Dim Sum-style restaurant since I'd been craving shrimp and chive dumplings. Sadly, weekday Dim Sum options are quite limited -- only about four items were available, and none of them were what I had in mind. So, I decided to go with one of my favorite comfort dishes: Chow Fun. Although barbecue pork with tofu wasn't on the menu, they did have barbecue pork and fun noodles, so I asked if they could combine them -- and they happily accommodated! The staff here are some of the happiest, most attentive people I've encountered, which instantly made the experience better. My dish arrived piping hot, with noodles cooked to absolute perfection. The mung beans, onions, and scallions were crisp and lightly sautéed, and the barbecue pork was tender, juicy, and plentiful -- exactly how it should be. My bf wanted to try a new place for dim sum in natomas so we came here-we got the xiaolongbao, braised fish and tofu, chili wontons, and scallopfried rice. The scallop fried rice paired super well with everything we got. My bf got it because we normally don't see scallop fried rice being offered as a carb at a lot of places. The chili oil wontons were our least favorite, but were still delicious nonetheless. Its just that everything else was a bigger standout to this place. I def highly recommend the xiaolongbao and braised fish and tofu which i can see myself getting both again-even my bf who doesn't normally love cooked seafood really enjoyed it, and the good thing is that if you eat with a person who also has that preference, a good chunk of the dish is tofu. It also had a generous portion of onions, shiitake, and green onions, so I felt like I wasnt missing out on not ordering a separate veggie dish One of the most notable things about every dish we got was that nothing was too oily or salty despite still being packed with flavor, which was mentioned in a lot of reviews that i saw. I've been here several times and the food is SO GOOD and reasonably priced. Everything is beautifully seasoned and tastes as if a lot of care has been put into it. The proprietors couldn't be nicer and service has always been great. Real gem of a spot! They serve a large plate with rice and a main course which can be enough for two meals. ordered their pan fried dumplings which is supposed to have soup in it but there was none. It also had way too much dough and not enough meat. I really liked the way they pan fried their dumplings in the past with the crispy skirt but they no longer have this option. This place is so good I already want to go back. I got their salt and pepper pork chops as well as their dry-cooked green beans and a side of rice. The pork chops were just so deliciously cooked and so crispy too and did not have much bone with it so it was just *chefs kiss*. The green beans were also very good but i wasnt expecting it to be spicy so i wish they would indicate that on their menu with a symbol because the picture looked like they were just steamed green beans. But i do like spicy food , i just wasnt prepared to eat spicy food that afternoon. Other than that, it was also the right type of service that i personally feel like was right for me. My mom and I wanted Chinese for dinner on Saturday and I found this place on Yelp not too far from where we live. They are located in Natomas next to Bel Air and Popeye's. We arrived around 5pm and there were already a few tables full of families. The inside was clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly as well. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Chicken Fried Rice, Combination Chow Fun, Pan-Fried Chives Dumplings and the BBQ Pork Bao Buns. Everything tasted very fresh and I liked that the Pan-Fried Chives Dumplings and BBQ Pork Bao Buns were made fresh to order - they took longer than the entrees to come out. There was so much food - we took home leftovers that lasted us through the weekend. I loved everything we ordered, but I would definitely like to come back and order different entrees to try next time like their Dimsum. Decided to try this place for dinner togo since our go to Chinese restaurant was closed on Monday. Ther food did not disappoint me or my picky parents. The shrimp dumplings (hargow) were pretty big! These come in the flour wrapper, steamed. The crispy shrimp balls reminded me of the ones at dim sum with the strips of spring roll wrapper on the outside then fried. They all taste flavorful and delicious. The meat wasn't too chewy. They cook it right. I like the fish and tofu. They are not too salty. The walnut shrimp were good, as they were crunchy when I bit. Came here for a fun lunch on my break. The place was lovely. Parking is super easy to find the staff is super kind and welcoming as soon as you walk in. I tried the honey walnut shrimp. I ordered their pork, shrimp, and chive ice flower dumplings and these hit the spot. They remind me of dumplings I grew up eating, as well as stuff I ate with my family in Taiwan. The dumplings themselves are juicy and plump. Very good size and lots of filling! The skins are chewy and not dry. This flavor and texture accompanied by the crispy flower lace was a perfect bite! We tried this Dim Sum place a few days ago during an overnight stay in Sacramento on our way to Oahu for a week. The reviews were correct and the dim sum had excellent flavors. This is place is so good, we've come here at least 4 times by now. It was my first time trying dim sum and I felt like I had been missing out on so much! Our go-to order is the sichuan dumplings (my absolute favorite), the shrimp dumplings, the xiao long bao soup dumplings, and a side of the veggie eggrolls. Every bite is delicious and made fresh. They don't skimp out on the quality of the ingredients. The cool thing about sichuan peppers (for those of you who aren't familiar), is that it's not actually spicy but has a numbing effect. I'd recommend everyone try the sichuan dumplings at least once! Also, I'm pretty sure it's family-owned as we typically see the same employees every time we come in. They're all very friendly and provide great service. One time I had to send back the eggrolls because it tasted like the wood-ear mushrooms inside were undercooked, but they brought out a fresh batch for us right away, they're very understanding. Been here a few times now and the food is good enough to move them into my 2nd fav dumpling spot behind JTD. I've never seen a pork and shrimp XLB with an entire shrimp sticking out of the top of dumpling before. It was visually appealing and delicious to boot. Our order: pan fried soup dumplings, Shanghainese wonton soup, stir fried green beans, steamed pork and corn dumplings Despite the oddity of carrots and onions in a plate of stir fried green beans, its scrumptious wok hey circled my mouth and swirled in my nose with every bite. The other items were good but not great in their own little ways - the filling in the steamed dumplings could use more seasonings, the addition of soy sauce in Shanghainese wonton soup is atypical and flavor altering, and the bottoms in the pan-fried soup dumplings could be crispier. However, do take my review and with a grain of salt as I recently returned from the motherland and it's not easy to compare this to that! Tucked away in the corner of a strip plaza on West El Camino, Yi Long Dumplings is a newer presence in the Sacramento food scene. The servers are courteous and not overly attentive. As a Chinese, I take comfort in knowing that I have growing access to authentic (or authentic-leaning) options in the neighborhood and I hope to see its continued success with dim sum items (coming soon per the servers!). read more

I give this place a 3.2 rating. The people working during dinner time on a weekend were really grumpy. When we got there we were very excited bc we had wait to get Chinese food throughout the week and we were finally doing so! We found this on Yelp :-) and so we decided to try it. The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant was decent; it had a handful of tables filled with no line. The lady who sat us was in a hurry and gave us a table. As we ordered we asked about the dumplings and what was inside them since there weren't photos, the lady responded but was irritated. Throughout the night, we didn't have a server come to our table we had to ask someone for water, and for lemon. And as the food was delivered to our table, not a smile came from the servers- maybe they were having an "off" night or they were short-staffed. The food overall, was decent hence the 3 stars. We ordered the combo chow mein $12.95, the pork/chive/shrimp dumpling for $13.95 and an appetizer wonton red chili oil $9.99. The tea is not complimentary. The food had a good taste but am not sure if there was MSG. The ambiance appeared ok, clean tables and well-lit but it could use some music so it's not just a bland place. Since there weren't a lot of people talking, it felt like your conversation could be heard especially since the tables are close to each other.
