The inside and outside of this restaurant is ultra dated. Seeing the outside will scare anyone pulling up. The No. 1 China Express is practically next door with a clean exterior and a new modern sign. I've ordered from China Express before, so I was determined to give Wong's a try. I ordered through a link on Yelp's website thinking it was directly associated with the business and the lady owner told me to call them directly to save a few dollars. The third party website charges about 5% for ordering through them. It took me around 25 minutes to arrive and they had my order ready. I ordered chicken green beans, house eggplant, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken, broccoli beef. The prices are really reasonable and they fill the trays. Average entree was 13.00 when I'm used to seeing 16-17 dollars in other places. I'm not going to tell you everything was tasty because most dishes weren't seasoned better even though there were plenty of sauce in each dish. The batter on the sweet and sour pork, orange chicken was falling off and mushy by the time I got home. To be fair, Cantonese food tends to to be less salty, so having your own oyster or fish sauce will help save these dishes. If you like quantity over quality, this place is for you. Party of 8 first timers. Two parties where there before we came on a Sunday afternoon. We liked the food we ordered. Not salty at all! Compared to saltiness that is a common thing other food place does. They have free egg soup for those who like. Looks like a one woman business. We ordered 2 plates one with orange chicken & pork fried rice then the other general chicken & pork fried rice. Highly recommend to check them out pricing was amazing ($10.30 per plate) and portions were good enough to feed 2-3 per plate (they fill each container as full as it can go, nothing is being shorted out on). This was probably the worse Chinese food I've ever had. It was so bad, I tossed it out. Order pork fried rice. Absolutely no flavor at all. Chicken sweet and sour. It was actually pork and the first piece seemed promising, but the next two pieces were gristle. They need to be more careful about the protein ordered. Pork is not chicken and the gristle shows they don't trim their meat properly. The egg foo young was just gross. First it was burnt. The Pattie's weren't flat, but round ball like. I'm use to bean sprouts in it and if there was been sprouts in it, I could find it. Again they were burnt and hard. The gravy, although good, couldn't cover up the burnt and dry taste. So we decided to give Wong's a go.... We were seated right away and given menus. We ordered egg drop soup, potstickers, sweet and sour pork w/chow mein and broccoli chicken w/steamed rice. Everything was good. It was a bit on the pricey side when you consider the location of the restaurant and the ambiance. The menu said you get a choice of rice or noodles with the special, it doesn't say you pay extra for noodles; but you do! You also pay for hot tea. I didn't quibble, but the menu is misleading at best. I suspect we'll ge back, mainly because it's not too far out of the way when we want Chinese food. But, there are a couple of other restaurants whose food is just as good, if not better, that come in at the same price, or a little less.... This could weigh into the decision making. read more

My husband and I tried Wong's tonight looking for a new Chinese restaurant. Our only regret is that we hadn't found this place sooner! Don't let the 1980's look of the outside fool you into driving past - the food is well worth coming for a visit. While the restaurant decor was a little dated, it was clean and bright with comfortable booth and table seating. DO NOT EVER EAT HERE. I used to be a customer since 2017. I will NEVER be back. They used to serve good food, now they just scam you with whatever junk they have laying around. The seafood soup had 1 tiny square piece of fish and a few pieces of shrimp but no whole shrimp, the rest of the soup was egg and tofu, for $14?!! Then the fried calamari was literally a piece of a calamari cut into thin straps and buried in tempura, not even 1 calamari, another $14!? Then there was the appetizer platter that tasted like old fish oil. And the 2 fried prawns were actually 1 prawn that was cut in half sideways and flattened. EVERYTHING WAS HORRIBLE. I called to speak to a Manager and they are never there until 8pm at night. The owners were not around either. I filed a bank dispute and THAT was the only time they responded, to deny my dispute and keep my money for selling me garbage Chinese food. They won't do the right thing and issue me a credit, they are scamming us. I called for a refund and the kids who answer the phone just give you the run around and say call back after 9pm. Every chance I get I go here! The food is very cheap especially for the amount they give you, and the food is always done in 10-15 minutes, unless you had a super large order but even there it's completed very fast! I always get the lunch or dinner combinations , it's seriously the best bang for your buck. Those portions EASILY feed 2-3 people! Honestly all of their food is just amazing! Worst experience ever try to give them another try and they let me down again. I ordered regular wonton soup as I have 100 times I got home and I noticed there was shrimp in it. Nice portions and you could tell they did the small extra steps in food prep. The beef in broccoli beef was had uniform slices with no gristle. The real surprise was the sesame chicken. Haven't been here in quite awhile. Not only has the ownership changed but the recipes are different now as well. The famous sweet n sour chicken is no longer crispy and the sauce had a ketchup flavor to it. The Hie Jae Pork chop is no longer crispy as it is now served in a sauce smothered in onions and green peppers. This is still a good spot for low cost Chinese food entree's average around $8 but without that super yummy sweet n sour this is just a 3 star spot. read more
