    Peking Pork
    Eddy N.

Decided to check out this joint cause it was close to home. Turned out to be a disappointment. Service and ambiance was good but food was horrible. Beef chow fun looks good, the noodles texture was off and lack seasoning and flavors. The Peking pork was horrific. Not sure if it's pork or something else, again it lack seasoning. Got a third entree of pepper shrimp, same thing. Even my 12 yr old took a few bites and call it quits. Decided to eat Ramen instead. At least I tried but will not return.

    Leftover for tomorrow Chicken Mushroom

First time here I've been told it's the best Chinese food around so I decided to try it and I'm not disappointed. The flavor was very good and portion size (dinner) was great and I have leftovers. I ordered chicken mushroom with chowmein and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is very nice inside, probably the nicest I've been too, and I have ate at a lot of Chinese food restaurants. The server was very personable and a pleasure to talk to. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back.

This is their "Pork" Egg Rolls. Every single one of them. All air and veggies.

This is their "Pork" egg rolls. It's all air and veggies. Even then they could have been a little more generous with the veggie filling specifically when they only an essence of pork and not actual pieces.

Szechuan Beef Combination plate w/ BBQ Pork Fried Rice

My girlfriend wanted to go here as this is her favorite Chinese food. I was a bit skeptical of her claim as it was almost a 40 minute drive to it. Nevertheless, as her boyfriend I caved in and here we were. First off it has unassuming signage posted in front of the place. You guys need better stuff at the front so that passerbys can see easier. Now that is where the complaints end. The atmosphere inside is peaceful with some background pop music. We ordered the general chicken lunch special and the szechuan beef combination plate with bbq pork fried rice as our sides. The szechuan beef was cooked to perfection and had the perfect level of numbing spice. It had a slight crunch, but the inside was nice and tender. The general chicken flavor was great as well and both had a decent amount of sauce on them. The rice wasn't oily and had a nice flavor to the bbq pork. All these people talking filler veggies are chatting nonsense. I can't speak for when they're busy, but the service was also attentive, granted it was just me and my girlfriend at the time, but still. They pay attention to what needs to happen. All in all, if you like chinese food, especially the szechuan style, this place is a must. Absolutely worth a 40 minute drive!! We'll be coming back in the near future for sure!

Tasty Palace is decent. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. The food is ok, it's not bad nor great but it's ok. The Peking pork was decent but I'll probably order something different next time. The Orange chicken could be better but it's decent. The pork chow mein was kind of dry in my opinion. Like I said the food is decent, ill go back and try more dishes.

This is the place for Chinese food! Highly recommend the Salt & Pepper Fish, perfect flavor. The Walnut Honey Shrimp is plump, flavorful, and a generous serving. Fried rice was delicious, fresh vegetables, and wonderfully seasoned and not overly oily! Friendly and kind service, fast delivery of food to the table, clean environment and bathroom. Plants sprinkled everywhere and even some available for purchase. Don't pass up this gem! Order now...

I came here for new years day 2024. Walked in no waiting, nice and clean establishment. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly. I ordered salt and pepper shrimp ala carte and rice. When my order was ready the gentleman gave me a new years calendar and free dessert! The food was delicious not over or undercooked. I'm very pleased about the food and service. I'll definitely will be going back to try more food!

    Combination Chow Fun

Did a takeout of Mongolian Beef and Combination Chow Fun. The Mongolian beef was more veggies than beef but very flavorful. I opted for a medium spicy. The chow fun was good but a little bland. When combined together, they are good. Service was fast.

The take-out food was very good and in large portions! This was our first time, but we'll be regular customers.

Review #666 Spoooky!!!! Lol…read more Wow!! Delicious!! After our day date, we worked up an appetite. He told me about Beijing Gourmet and how good he thought it was. Haha, ok. I'll bite. We were about 20 minutes away when we ordered by phone. We went with some Sesame Chicken and Chicken Chowmein. When we arrived we were still waiting since they were making orders ahead of us. We sat in the dining room, which is not set up for anyone to dine in. This seemed to be only a pick up type of place. After about 15 more minutes our order was ready. The woman was so nice and packed up a couple plates, with silverware, napkins, soy sauce, and fortune cookies. We hopped back into the truck and drove back to his house for the remainder of our date. After another 20 minute drive, we went inside and out food was still piping hot! The only issue we had was that the paper plates were so thin. We literally only got 2 of the thinnest plates you could find on the market. Putting anything on them would bleed through... so if you ask for plates double or triple up what you really need. The Sesame Chicken was very good. Cooked fresh. The crunch on the outside of the chicken and the taste of the sauce was spot on. The Chicken Chowmein noodles were just as delicious! This spot was so close to my parents house, I am so surprised I had never discovered it! Good food ended with a gorgeous night!!

Our waiterS were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable in their menu options. One of them was super friendly -- maybe even a bit cheeky! -- and he made us feel at home. Second, the ambiance was dinner date night worthy so long as you don't mind a few TVs. They didn't bother us nor was the volume obnoxiously loud. The bar area is fun and modern-looking. Third, ohmygoodness! The food was sooo delicious! The Cantonese-style Seabass paired quite lovely with Shrimp Fried Rice and Combination Veggies!!! The seabass was topped with sliced ginger and onions. It was super tasty! It reminded me of home cooked meals growing up. The shrimp in the fried rice was tender and lighted dusty with some type of flour that made it perfectly crisp. And the combination veggies was perfectly cooked and served in a light sauce! Thing is, I'm not a huge fan of "Asian Fusion" but this place seemed to hit all the boxes for us. Go give Folsom Palace a try! p.s. Each dish was beautifully presented and smelled amazing as they walked up... that I totally forgot to take pictures (lol).

The noodles were flavorful and well-seasoned, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were fresh. Everything tasted great together. However, for $20, I expected a little more. There were only 4 shrimp in the box, which feels like too little for the price. If they had included at least 6-8 shrimp, it would have been much better. The food is delicious, but the value for the money could definitely be improved.

04.26.26 Mama (that's me) was in the mood for some Chinese,…read moreso instead of taking hubby for a sit down spot in Roseville/Granite Bay I've been meaning to take him to, we opted for takeout close to home. We've tried several spots in the area after our typical go-to hadn't been great the last few times we ordered. So, I turned to my trusty Yelp and found Pearl House. Hubs knew exactly where it was--next door to Grocery Outlet. I thought it was closed last time we were at GC, like closed closed. So when we saw pics from 3days ago, we knew that wasn't the case. Being 7pm on a Sunday, we saw they closed at 9pm. So, looked at their menu online, we decided on our order: Hubs' go-to whenever trying a new place is General Tso's Chicken, and I tried something new-Happy Family because I was in the mood for a protein variety dish, and this had quite the variety: scallop, shrimp, calamari, crabmeat, chicken, BBQ pork, and beef with a plethora or veggies. We also wanted egg rolls. I called and a lady answered, took my order, and said it'd be ready in 10min. Didn't take my name or number-wow! Not only did I think that was kinda crazy, but TEN minutes?!?! This was either gunna blow my mind or be horrible. We drove over and upon entering there were a few people inside leaving--not sure if they were also to-go or has finished eating there. I looked around and saw many empty tables, but clean looking dining room area. A lady behind the counter wearing a face mask asked to help me. I let her know I was there to pick up, and she asked what I ordered. Our order was already boxed up ready to go. Our total? $41 before tip. I asked her if they did sit down, she confirmed yes. Then I told her it was my first time in there, to which she asked where I lived and that they've been there for 37 YEARS! Then she said she hopes we like our food and to see us again. I grabbed a to-go menu and went on my way. The food smelled good and when we got home, I grabbed my own chopsticks and hot chili oil, and was ready to grub. In the box, besides our ordered food, they included sweet & sour sauce for the egg rolls, as well as soy sauce packets and individually wrapped fortune cookies. I first went for an eggroll, which was surprisingly longer in length than most other places. Took a bite and enjoyed that wonderful crispy outside texture, and saw it was veggie only inside--whomp, whomp. In my mind, these should really be called spring rolls. However, these had some REALLY great flavor!! Hubs enjoys meat in his rolls, but after explaining the flavor, he still tried one himself and was quite happy with it. He had taken a bite of his GT Chicken and said it was pretty good. He said it tasted a little too sweet, almost dessert-y, but that it was also really good. I tried a small piece and liked how crispy it was even in all the sweet sauciness. Then I opened my dish and boy oh boy did it look good. Now before I talk about how it tasted, I need to explain what I thought I was getting. The menu said all those proteins I mentioned, and that it was tossed with snow pea pods, broccoli tips, mushrooms (which I ordered without) and baby corn. All veggies I enjoy! So, what my dish actually came with (as you can see in my pic), there was onions, carrots, celery, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, NO calamari or baby corn or BBQ pork. That all said, I was most disappointed in not having the calamari, BBQ pork or baby corn. Sad, yes. But the overall dish made up for it. With that, I was not mad AT ALL, and surprisingly ate the entire thing in one sitting--NOT a usual thing for me!! Granted, I hadn't eaten since breakfast, but still. It was DEE-LICIOUS and I'll say Dee-approved!! I'm literally writing this review immediately after eating dinner because it was THAT good y'all! I couldn't not let my people know that Pearl House is legit and it's obvious why they've been around for 37 years. This may be our new go-to spot for that neighborhood Chinese food craving, IJS. So, if you're in the area and looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine, look no further and check out Pearl House for yourself. We most definitely will be back. P.S. And them fortune cookies are good too!
