First time to Amy's Ice Cream and I love the flavors here! I got a small which I wish I would have gotten a tiny because they are the same size with different pricing. My family got the tiny and I got the small, I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. I got the ube cheesecake and the campfire with health bar on mine. Both flavors were really good, smooth and not overly sweet. You can get it in a cup or a waffle cone. There is seating in the inside and outside. Next door sharing a wall inside the establishment looks like you can order food and fries. We did not try the neighboring business but it looked like dinners food. Burgers, fries, chicken tenders, and etc. Would I recommend Amy's ice cream yes staff is friendly and lets you try different ice cream before selecting.

Soooooo, I've never been to Austin (or TX) before this trip & I LOOOOOOVE ice cream so of course, we happen to stumble upon this place because the Giant Amy's Ice Cream on the roof was calling my name, iykyk. The parking lot was full & it was a full house but there was no one in line (YAY!) We were able to try some flavors before ordering, I tried the Cold Pressed Vanilla & it was good but it didn't quite tickle my pickle. The person behind the counter suggested that Mexican Vanilla was their top seller so I tried that &&&&&&& MAN OH MAN, soooooooo yums! So I got a a scoop of Mexican Vanilla & topped it off with my signature rainbow sprinkles (if it's ice cream, that's my go-to topper - no matter what!). I think if you top Mexican Vanilla with anything, you cannot go wrong! Maybe it's because I can't have it whenever I want it but Austin-peeps are lucky to have all the Amy's Ice Cream. I guess this is how other states feel (besides CA and OR) when they can't have In n Out whenever they please. That womps! If you're visiting Austin - be sure to stop by & grab yourself a scoop of the good stuff!

Hummmm so I didn't have the burger flavored ice cream, while I do put cheese on my ice cream to pretend it's a burger, I went with the burger. Could use more toppings as this is a backyard burger trying to be a gourmet burger. Fry's are the semi wedge style, while this works they are trying to be regular fry's which leaves them more like potatoes. My recommendation is to work on the fry's and make these unique and more style on the burger while keeping it simple, maybe like a relish? My last stop was in 12/24 so maybe I'll have to go back and re review

I mean...Barbie ice cream with pink glitter?? Does it get any better? Not sure a review needs much more than pink glitter and ice cream, but just in case, here it goes! The ice cream was delicious; I can definitely see why Amy's comes so highly recommended as a locals favorite. The only issue I had was the layout of the restaurant. It was so tiny and once the line got crazy, you could barely move around! Plus parking was a nightmare. But all good things come at a cost, including delicious ice cream!

In town visiting the area for my wife's birthday... Had to stop by this phenomenal ice cream spot! The staff makes the experience super awesome...the ice cream makes the experience awesome!!! Wow the place had some decadent ice cream. I had the Mexican vanilla with a crush in of gummy bears and waffle cone. I had a tiny size which was just what I was craving. I wanted to take a pint to-go however I wasn't heading back to the hotel. The friendly staff offered up samples and explained what was in each flavor I inquired about. If you get to Austin, Texas or wherever else Amy's Ice is offered...you definitely eat it. You can thank me later. I was very pleased with the atmosphere and the service. The product has me wanting to visit more often. Thank you for the hospitality! Put a location in OKC!? Respectfully, Bryan

Amy's is an Austin establishment for a reason: they make damn good ice cream, period. Of course, there's more to it than that, though. They hire amazingly kind people that really make every scoop feel like a special occasion worth celebrating. I decided to treat myself on this gloomy, rainy day, and they completely brightened my mood. Sure, the sugar helped, but there's a lot to be said for positive human interaction. I'm just starting to get used to that again. Though there's typically only one vegan favor at a time, either chocolate or vanilla, they knock it out of the park. 10/10 for their chocolate oat milk, which no one would even guess was dairy free from the rich, fudge flavor or perfectly smooth and creamy texture. Big plus is the play ground on site for this location. I would totally get my 30+-year old butt out on the monkey bars, though I'm afraid I might scare the kids.

A great dessert option for those of you who, like me, LOVE ice cream!! The flavors they have constantly rotate so you never know what you're going to get. They have some usual flavors and can make mixes for you too. Love the vibe and the service always friendly!

I talked with my son yesterday, and the conversation rolled around to some of the restaurants he and I have eaten at in Austin and how I missed the food there. When we got to Amy's Ice Cream, he reminded me that it was the one on Lamar Street that he first introduced me to. I would therefore be remiss if I didn't review this particular Amy's Ice Cream located at 2901 S. Lamar St. that made me a fan for life of Amy's with their Mexican Vanilla ice cream. After eating at Loro's up the street, I offered to take my son and his girlfriend out for some ice cream after dinner. I'm pretty much of a desert freak when I go out for a meal. Not being from these parts, they recommended Amy's a short drive down the street on Lamar. When we pulled into this old-looking, non-descript corner ice cream store, I was intrigued. It was a large store, with an expansive outside sitting area and parking lot, but the counter where the ice cream was sold was tiny. No more than one customer at a time could be served. The limited menu was handwritten on a chalkboard behind the counter and had unfamiliar sounding names (flavors). So I asked the friendly counter person for a recommendation, and she offered up the Mexican Vanilla as her choice. I'm more of a chocolate guy myself, but I accepted her selection, and boy, was I surprised. This was by far the best tasting ice cream I've ever had. With no toppings, this flavor blew my tastebuds to the top of my head. Since that day, I've been to a few other Amy's around Austin, all terrific, but this one sticks in my head for the initial introduction to their sensational ice cream. I can't ever go to Austin without a least one or two visits to Amy's.

Between the three of us, there was a little bit of everything--from classic comfort flavors to things I never thought would work in ice cream but somehow absolutely did. (Please ignore the F, E, D--this was how I kept track of who ordered what). Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint (F, E) - the absolute winner of the night and my #1 flavor. I never thought I'd describe an ice cream as refreshing in the way a sorbet is, but somehow this pulled it off while staying rich and creamy. Delicious, subtly minty, unbelievably smooth, and surprisingly refreshing. The beet flavor was mild enough that it didn't taste earthy or overpowering--just mellow and creamy, while the mint made all the difference in brightening everything up. I genuinely never had such a refreshing ice cream that wasn't sorbet. Such a unique flavor that somehow works perfectly, and absolutely something I'd get again. GOAT Cheese, Thyme, and Honey (E, D) - my #2 and a complete 100% hit. Tangy, creamy, slightly savory, sweet, and incredibly unique while still tasting approachable. It somehow tastes exactly like the name promises without feeling too "out there." If you're nervous about goat cheese, trust me and try it. Easily an instant reorder. Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt (E, D) - rounding out my top three. Such a good balance against the sweetness of the rest of the ice cream options. Rich, deep chocolate flavor without becoming overwhelming, while the olive oil and sea salt round everything out and keep it from tasting too sugary. A flavor I appreciated more and more between bites of sweeter scoops. Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean (E) - one of the smoothest vanilla bean ice creams I've had. It reminded me of a traditional ice milk soft serve in the best way possible: creamy, nostalgic, and incredibly easy to eat. A deceptively simple flavor done really well. Very Strawberry (F) - a clean strawberry flavor that leaned a little artificial, but honestly? Still really good. Bright, fruity, and easy to enjoy. Cookies & Cream (F) - this one hit HARD when you got a full spoonful. I never liked cookies & cream before this, but this one genuinely changed my mind. Probably the only cookies & cream I would willingly eat. Chocolate Chocolate (F) - love chocolate? Get this. That's all you need to know. Coffee & Cream (D) - oooh. This immediately reminded me of a keto coffee ice cream I had once and really enjoyed. Rich coffee flavor without tasting too bitter or overpowering--would absolutely get this again. Sweet Cream w. Strawberry (D) - unfortunately, a miss for me compared to the others. Too creamy for me and not enough strawberry flavor to justify choosing it over the Very Strawberry. Overall, the adventurous flavors completely stole the show here. My tier list by far: 1) Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint, 2) GOAT Cheese, Thyme, and Honey, and 3) Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt. Unique flavors that actually feel intentional rather than gimmicky, and all three are instant repeat orders for me. Atmosphere-wise, the place was pleasant, parking was surprisingly easy, and while it wasn't overwhelmingly crowded, the place is definitely more popular than it first appears. I never thought I'd be a fan of Americanized ice cream--usually it's way too sweet for me--but Lick completely proved me wrong. Somehow, the flavors felt balanced, intentional, and actually let the ingredients shine without drowning me in sugar. Touché, Lick. Dangerous spot for indecisive people because suddenly you're convincing yourself that yes, maybe you do need another scoop.

While we were there, it was always a packed line so it definitely gets really busy from 8-9PM! We got three larges for a total of twelve flavors, a little bit of overlap: Mine: Dark Chocolate Olive Oil and Sea Salt - Really liked this, the bitter saltiness offset the creaminess really well. Coffee with Cream - A very light but roasty coffee, like a light coffee. I liked this!; Goat Cheese, Thyme and Honey - The herbal flavor is more subtle than I expected! Not too sweet, liked this one Sweet Cream & Strawberry - this one didn't stand out much to me Others: Roasted Beets and Fresh Mint - I really liked this one! The beets and mint hit on the back of your tongue, yum Chocolate Chocolate - Very intense chocolate, not too crazy about it though Cookies & Cream - Surprisingly good! I liked this one Very Strawberry - way more strawberry than the sweet cream. I'd recommend this over the sweet cream and strawberry Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean - Pretty light, a classic. Thought it was okay. If I had a tier list it would be: 1) Coffee with Cream 2) Goat Cheese 3) Dark Chocolate Olive Oil 4) Roasted Beets and Mint 5) Cookies & Cream 6) Very Strawberry 7) Vanilla Bean 8) Chocolate Chocolate 9) Sweet Cream & Strawberry Overall, a few hits, a few misses, but it was a fun tasting experience. We paid via inKind with no issues, which made it a pretty solid value.

There's a good variety of flavors and things they serve from italian ice to ice cream and shakes. We opted for a strawberry italian ice with condensed milk on top. From the first bite we were in heaven. The flavor is very thorough which is not always the case for Italian ices where it can sometimes be a bit muted. Every single bite of this was packed with flavor. They also carve out a bit of the middle to put the condensed milk which makes every bite much more equal than if it was just placed at the top. This was by far one of, if not the best, Italian ices we've ever had. We would very much recommend it to anyone in the Downtown area looking to cool off.
