I was craving something sweet after dinner and the baked bear hit the spot. I love how late they're open and I like all the outdoor seating available to enjoy your sweet treat while people watching. The ice cream here is sooo good. The cookies alone are ok but with the ice cream it's chef's kiss. The portion size is huge so you get a good bang for your buck.
Cool concept, didn't feel worth the price. Ice cream was alright, brownie was alright, service was rushed (we were kind of late more toward closing so that's fair) finding this location was a little hard as we're not from here but [[HIGHLIGHT]]overall fun place and definitely fixed my sweets craving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Location is in the middle courtyard you can access by the garage or through the underground garage via elevator.

You can pick cookies or brownies for your sandwich, and the combinations are endless. The service is great and everything feels fresh and thoughtfully made. Love this place for my late night sweet treat fix! I've been here quite a few times and always bring my friends since it was so close to my old apartment. It's the perfect amount of warm and gooey from the cookies and refreshing cool sweetness from the icecream. I always get the Nutella cookies with the Oreos mixed into my ice cream. Elite combo. I was really excited to try The Baked Bear, my brother had mentioned the SF location is something he'd been wanting to try for a long time. So naturally when we were in Austin. We excitedly went to check out The Baked Bear. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The cookies were pretty good, but not amazing or anything. The brownie was dry, but luckily not too brittle, and the ice cream wasn't all that amazing either. The service was fast and friendly, although the heating up option still left the cookie and brownie pretty cold, so I don't think it really made a difference. Must try dessert it was delicious with custom cookie sandwiches. You can create a sandwich with two different cookies or one cookie and make it a bowl. It won't get messy as they give a proper plate for it all. All cookies are so soft was it makes it great and ice creams are not all basic either. I've never had a mud pie ice cream until going to Baked bear! You can select your own cookie and customize your ice cream sandwich the way you want it. 2 different cookies and 2 different ice creams... in one ice cream sandwich...no problem! It all cost the same. You can choose to warm up the cookies and it will not melt the ice cream. 1 sandwich is totally shareable! There's several cookie options to pick from and they have cookie of the month which are limited edition only. Service was great and you can sample the ice creams so you can choose which ones you like the best. $9.50 for a humongous monster ice cream sandwich. Shareable for two in my opinion! I love visiting The Baked Bear for amazing mix and match of delectable desserts. I love that I can build my own ice cream cookie sandwich and customize the type of cookie and ice cream flavors and add toppings. I had the chocolate chip top cookie and cookies and cream bottom cookie. I added 2 different flavors of ice cream; blackberry crumble and butter brittle cake (it was an up charge of .50 cents for the extra flavor). My all time favorite cookie flavor is ube but that is seasonal. They offer a variety of toppings as well. Better eat that ice cream cookie sandwich fast in the Texas heat!
Wow!!! Super delicious, better than tiffs treats and the similar brands in my opinion. It's a bit pricey like all the rest but the $10.50 dozen was a great deal on DoorDash and I'd 100% order again. The blueberry crumble ice cream was also out of this world. Hit this place up, it's probably even better in person.
This place is so delicious!!! The desserts taste very fresh and the prices are very reasonable. They also have great customer service, once the employee found out it was my birthday I got a free cookie which was very sweet of him. Also, the brownie bowl was a hit! So good it's moist and chocolatey 10/10. The gooey butter cake was my favorite cookie, super gooey.

Swung by to try out some ice cream on a hot June day in Austin. My son and husband ordered the bear bowl with the cookie bottom and ice cream on top. The portions in general were huge!! Not sure which was better- the cookies or the ice cream- but together they were delicious. I love that there are so many different cookie options to create a sandwich with along with the various toppings. I opted for mint chocolate chip ice cream on the regular chocolate chip cookies- it hit the spot. Only down side is the price point but guess that's expected in the Austin metro area. Ended up spending $35 with tip for the three of us (2 bowls and a sandwich). read more

I had baked bear a few years ago and I feel like either I didn't get the right flavors this time or maybe something changed. I mean you can see for yourself that the ice cream sandwich looks 10 out of 10 fire. I did the custom ice cream sandwich with vanilla ice cream two different cookies- one was the gooey butter cake (overpowering after a few bites) did not finish & the other was like a oreo & cookie mix (much better) and did finish. Vanilla ice cream was decent, but nothing special. I might get it again if I was in the area and really had a sweet tooth, but I would definitely go for some different flavors because they just didn't hit the same this time. read more

If you like hard ice cream this place is your heaven. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and they specialize in ice cream sandwiches. I opted for just a cup of the cookie dough, and it did not disappoint! Service was friendly, too! read more

Love this place, so sad that the one in San Antonio closed abruptly. Found one in town, excited to have it again. Cookies n cream is the best! Didn't get any cookies, but still looks delicious. Thank you for staying open late! Our late night sweet tooth thanks you for real! We were staying downtown and decided to walk here around 10pm. Got inside and saw the tray of FRESH cookies and ice cream bucket (made our hearts so happy). We decided to do the Cookie+Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich and we have NO REGRETS! It was everything a dessert in this heat should be! The satisfaction of this sandwich made me over look the price point of it for sure. Go get you some! read more
If you're looking for an indulgent treat look no further! The baked bear checks so many boxes for a fellow sweet tooth. Ice cream, cookies, and even brownies! When you first walk in there is music playing, which is very inviting, the place is clean, smells great, and I love the large photo wall in the back. I ordered two sandwiches: Nutella cookies with churro ice cream and a chocolate ice cream with a sprinkle cookie and a butter cake cookie. I don't have one complaint. The cookies were equally soft and crunchy- I was worried they would get soggy with the ice cream, but they held up perfectly. The ice cream was rich and delicious. You can choose to add extra toppings, like M&Ms, Oreos, chocolate drizzle but that was a bit over-the-top for us. It's a bit pricey but the size and quality of ice cream sandwich makes up for it- I feel it's comparable to most cookie and/or ice cream establishments. read more

The ice cream was delicious, the cookies were good as well. Only thing I can say I had the gluten free cookie and it had good taste but was hard but the ice cream helps with that. The Staff friendly, appreciative, and quick. There was a small line when we got there which looks big because it's small location. read more

There is something about two soft cookies and a huge scoop of ice cream that just makes everything better. Coming to Baked Bear always brings back great memories as they first opened up in San Diego when I was living there years ago. When you walk in, you are instantly smacked in the face with the magnificent smell of fresh made cookies and other desserts which are nicely displayed at the front of the store. But not only do they have fantastic cookies, the ice cream is simply melt worthy. It definitely runs on the creamier side, but they have flavors for every type of craving. The only bad thing about this place is that you walk in and have to legitimately think what kind of combo you want to make because everything just sounds so good. My wife and I always share one cooking sandwich is ends up being more than enough for a post dinner treat. You can't go wrong with anything here, just enjoy. read more

The logo just makes you want to come check out this ice cream shop. It's so damn cute! I came in solely for the ice cream and not the cookies. I ordered the Mud Pie which consisted of coffee, brownies and fudge along with the Bear Batter which was a cake batter bass with sprinkles and brownies. The two meshed well. I wish there was more brownie throughout but it still hit the spot nonetheless. read more

Brownie on top, snickerdoodle, and cookie dough ice cream in th middle?! Yesss sure . Who cares when you are at The Baked Bear. I had so much fun making me my own ice cream sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the location because I can just relax outside on a pretty day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I parked in the parking garage nearby close to Trader Joe's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The line was long and the space is small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the cookie monster cookie (top and bottom) with vanilla ice cream. You don't have to get the same cookie on top and bottom so that makes it fun. The cookie was cooked perfectly and the flavor was nice. My ice cream was tasty with a good texture. Textures are so important with ice cream sandwiches. The Baked Bear has achieved a great balance of flavor and texture. You can also buy a cookie by itself and a single icream. This is great because you can enjoy either item if you don't like ice cream sandwiches. The staff was attentive to what I wanted and did not try to push me along super fast. It was my first time so the staff was walking me through the process and giving me ideas. I highly recommend if you want a sweet treat and have it your way at the same time! read more

Came here with a group of friends today for ice cream sandwiches. Unreal good and the ladies behind the counter were so friendly and bubbly. Vegan/GF cookie sandwich - this sandwich is a standard chocolate chip cookie and chocolate chip ice cream! I was surprised at how chewy (and not crumbly) the cookie was for being both gluten free and vegan. Really good flavor combo. The vegan ice cream was so creamy and not icy at all. Bear Batter ice cream - one friend got a scoop in a cup and another got it on a sandwich with the confetti cookies. They raved about how moist the cookies were. Also, the ice cream has brownies mixed in which was a twist. Would definitely return and recommend for anyone in the area - amazing sweets spot for those with dietary restrictions. Love this place so much! Fresh cookies and fresh homemade ice cream that you cannot leave Austin without trying! The cookies were very soft and packed with flavor and the ice cream was outstanding as-well. Don't forget to make sure you order the infamous cookie sandwhich! read more
Soooooooooo good. It was hard for me to find at first but glad I figured it out. They are known for ice cream sandwiches and they will even warm it up for you. I know sounds like an oxymoron but works! I got almond crunch ice cream with the ooey gooey cookie and Cookie Monster cookie. Did not disappoint! read more
When we entered we we're greeted by two nice young ladies. They were patient with us as it was our first time. We got one scoop of mint chocolate chip, cookie butter and cookie dough. I also tried 6 different types of cookies and every last one was amazing. Do yourself a favor if your looking for a sweet tooth head over and grab a few things. You won't be disappointed.
