Loved this ice cream! We visited only once, but it was easy to park in the nearby free garage. They had so many unique flavors, and I loved the dairy free options. The Pecan Joy is my new favorite! Texas pecans alongside toasted coconut and dark chocolate flakes in a creamy coconut base. The scoops are very very tiny for the price, but it was a great little treat. I also loved tasting the Texas Sheet Cake: their interpretation of this classic cake combines a swirl of decadent chocolate-pecan icing with delicate chocolate ice cream, but it was just too rich for me. Great spot that I'm sure we will frequent again soon!
Good quality ice cream & waffle cone!! I got the small cookies & cream. Small comes with 2 scoops, can be 2 different flavors. They have some "fun" flavors like apple pie or goat cheese with honey I was able to taste but I personally think their classics tasted better.
My friend and I decided to get ice cream after dinner. I had mentioned my favorite ice cream flavor is salted caramel and he raved about Lick's caramel salt lick flavor. We were able to easily find a parking spot in the parking garage of the shopping center. There was a short line when we arrived at Lick, which allowed us to decide on our flavors. Lick offers seasonal flavors as well as signature flavors. As I mentioned, I love anything salted caramel, so I had to get the caramel salt lick as well as their coffee with cream, as coffee is another favorite dessert flavor of mine. After we got our orders, we decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather at the time. There's also some seating inside if you prefer to be indoor. Now to the ice cream... Once lick and I was in love! The flavors were on point and the ice cream was creamy. I could have easily devoured another cup of each! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Austin!
Very creamy, not too sweet, soo yummy. I got the grasshopper pie, and texas sheet cake which is a flavor I always get BUT this place added pecans so I enjoyed it even more. Service was quick, not much seating inside, but some benches outside which wasn't bad because we went when there was shade. The service here was terrific. I was a first time customer and told them so; the employee helping me inquired as to my preferences and he came up with recommendations and gave me some samples. He really stood out from the other two employees who didn't seem very engaged with their customers. I was able to make a decision with dark chocolate. They have a lot of elevated flavors as compared to a run-of-the-mill ice cream business. I believe this store offers something great for a foodie or someone more refined than I. I had no interest in most of their more interesting flavors. That said, I found the dark chocolate ice cream to be very smooth but the flavor unremarkable. There is seating in the store, but the store is small, so there are benches outside as well. I found two "hidden" tables to the left of the counter on the hallway to the bathroom by the employee entrance. These tables take you completely out of the employees' view. I guess that's great for total privacy. But when an employee walked around to enter the work space, I surprised her. The cups in which the ice cream is served and the spoons are very environmentally designed. The bio-lining is made from plants. They are commercially compostable and 100% bamboo. The spoons are made from plants. I absolutely love this! They have some merch, but the display is on the hallway wall, out of view of the customers, so I'm not sure how much of it is actually sold. But, as mentioned, the store is small and there's not a lot of wall space to display the items in the main area. SO if you want a Lick t-shirt, peek around the corner! Overall it's a solid business, I got great service, and the business focus is terrific. I'm simply not the target audience for their products.
We had been told this was one of the best ice cream places in Austin and we had to find out. The store is located in a small strip mall so parking can be challenging, but don't let that stop you from trying it out! The staff was very patient with us as we perused the different flavors. The ice cream is homemade and is very good. They let you taste any of the flavors, so might as well! Well, I settled on Coffee with Cream which is milk & cream steeped in locally roasted 3rd Coast Coffee, lightly sweetened with pure cane syrup and subtly accented with a touch of Mexican vanilla. My wife tried the Hill Country Honey and Vanilla Bean - Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans mixed with ocal Good Flow Honey! Both of these were amazing, and unfortunately, I only got a pic of a half eaten one of the cups! Well, if you are looking for a good ice cream place - this should be a destination. Give them a try - 5 star experience!

Waffle cones, cups, and not ridiculous portions are a plus! I ordered a small, which comes with two scoops. I had the Tres Leches and the Texas Sheet cake. Delicious!
Such a fun concept! With local flavors, it's common to come across different concoctions of sweet and savory coming together. Ask for a stamp card and order single scoops to expand your palette. The location is also near walkable establishments, South of downtown Austin. Nearby a Alamo Drafthouse, so skip the popcorn and do a pre or post scoop instead!

Never thought I would be a fan of Americanized ice cream (always way too sweet), but Lick proved me wrong. Touché. The three of us each grabbed three flavors (F, E, D--haha, funny, right?) and rated each one with sugary zeal. Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint (F, E) - delicious, subtly minty, with a very creamy, mild beet flavor. I never had such a refreshing ice cream that wasn't sorbet. The mint really made a difference. I'm a huge fan of places that curate exotic flavors (a vegetable, really?) into their menu, which only increased my opinion of this place. Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean (E) - one of the smoothest vanilla bean ice creams I've had. It reminds me of a traditional ice milk soft serve. It wasn't the most impressive vanilla ice cream I've ever had, but it was still very good in its own right. Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt (E, D) - such a great balance to the sweetness of the rest of the ice cream options. I always love little chunks of salt in sweets to cut through the sugary intensity, so this one was an instant favorite. GOAT Cheese, Thyme, and Honey (E, D) - a complete 100% hit. Probably my top, alongside the beets. My BFF said it tasted too much like a meal rather than a dessert and couldn't give it a high rating, but as a charcuterie fan, I know there are plenty of "dessert" cheeses. I mean... cream cheese, for example? But is that really a cheese...? Uhhh. Very Strawberry (F) - a clean strawberry flavor. A bit artificial, but still so great. It far outweighed the Sweet Cream w. Strawberry flavor we tasted later. Cookies & Cream (F) - I never liked cookies & cream before, but this changed my mind. It hits so hard when you get a full spoonful. Probably the only cookies & cream I would eat. My BFF's #1. Chocolate Chocolate (F) - love chocolate? Get this. That's all you need to know. Coffee & Cream (D) - oooh, reminds me of the keto coffee ice cream I had once. Would get again. Coffee notes are always great in ice cream. Was this a STRONG standout? No. But did it do its job? Yes. Sweet Cream w. Strawberry (D) - too creamy for me, not enough strawberry. My top flavors by far are: 1) Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint, 2) GOAT Cheese, Thyme, and Honey, and 3) Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt. All three were unique flavors that I would absolutely get again. We sat on the little barstools watching the line get progressively longer as the night went on. It was really interesting to see how many people came in for a sweet treat at 11 PM. Nut allergy friendly: they do label allergens and they won't open a new container, but they did get me a new scoop Parked in the garage for free with no issues. Quite busy at 8:15PM on a Sunday! About ten people ahead of us and only two people working so it took about 10-15mins with people asking for samples and such. While we were there, it was always a packed line so it definitely gets really busy from 8-9PM! We got three larges for a total of twelve flavors, a little bit of overlap: Mine: Dark Chocolate Olive Oil and Sea Salt - Really liked this, the bitter saltiness offset the creaminess really well. Coffee with Cream - A very light but roasty coffee, like a light coffee. I liked this!; Goat Cheese, Thyme and Honey - The herbal flavor is more subtle than I expected! Not too sweet, liked this one Sweet Cream & Strawberry - this one didn't stand out much to me Others: Roasted Beets and Fresh Mint - I really liked this one! The beets and mint hit on the back of your tongue, yum Chocolate Chocolate - Very intense chocolate, not too crazy about it though Cookies & Cream - Surprisingly good! I liked this one Very Strawberry - way more strawberry than the sweet cream. I'd recommend this over the sweet cream and strawberry Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean - Pretty light, a classic. Thought it was okay. I love speciality ice cream shops! I had bought Lick ice cream from the grocery store before but there are way more flavors available here. I usually get their mint chocolate chip or vanilla bean from the grocer's and those are both classic and delicious. I tried their beets and mint flavor and it is surprisingly good! It's really refreshing and unexpected. The shop is located in a nice food/shopping area so it's a great time walking around and eating ice cream. read more
For a place with nearly 1400 reviews, I was wildly disappointed. There was absolutely nothing that stood out about their ice cream. They have interesting flavors, reminding me of salt & straw. The worker helping my cousin and I didn't seem too friendly, but she did offer us samples. Perhaps she was having a bad day? My cousin and I shared a triple scoop of: lemon lavender; coffee with cream; dark chocolate, olive oil, and sea salt. Our favorite of the three was definitely coffee with cream - it was very similar to Vietnamese coffee. All in all, if you have a craving ice cream, you can't go wrong here. Loved this place. Unique flavors. They were patient and let us take our time and sample since they are so different. They are a popular spot. The line was decent but moved quickly. I ended up with something completely different than I thought I would after sampling the flavors. I personally had the goat cheese, honey, and thyme with an additional scoop of coffee with cream. Yumm. Completely recommend. They also had both indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Lick has just the thing for your seasonal sweet tooth needs. They're currently scooping a vegan no-egg nog and sticky date pudding, which naturally go together beautifully. Gently spiced, sweet as a sugar plum fairy, and generously portioned, it could fill anyone with cheer. It's super creamy with a rich coconut base, but absolutely none of the telltale tropical aftertaste. Of course, if you're not feeling so festive, they always have a classic vegan chocolate option that is an all-purpose hit. Fun flavors (like a goat cheese, honey & thyme -- yum!), good vegan options (three choices), plus a waffle cone BOWL option which I think is genius. A handful of tables inside so you can stay and hangout. Open late. Staff is young, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! Conveniently located near a number of good restaurants if you are looking for a post-dinner none boozy night cap. read more

Lick ice cream is one of the main go to ice cream/dessert spot when I'm visiting Austin. They have many flavors to choose from and the smell of the waffle cones always makes you want to get one. I asked what the most popular flavors are and I believe it's their caramel and I got another flavor which I can't remember and my friend got chocolate. Perfect for when it's really hot outside. This location we walked from Terry Blacks and the park but I think this is located within a plaza so there's street parking and probably plaza parking. Small inside area with a bathroom and there's some seating outside. Great place to cool off in the heat! The workers were so kind and friendly, the service was great and they can get busy! read more

Our first time at this business and we were pleased! The ice cream is soft and tasty! The service was quick and friendly. My favorite part (besides the delicious ice cream) was they had compostable dining ware, which is not something many businesses do, BUT SHOULD! This location is great! Located in South Austin, this place was small but inviting. Parking garages located within the building the shop is attached to. Definitely recommend for their delicious treats and their compostable dining ware! read more

I constantly crave ice cream and this is a great option with a lactose intolerant husband who usually has to avoid ice cream at all costs. A good selection of vegan options and interesting options overall. I just popped in randomly and it all went pretty fast. Friendly service and they let you try a few samples if you would like. All options are clearly marked on their boards. Price is fair considering the awesome options and part of town they're located. Really didn't seem like you could go wrong with any flavor. I tried the Goat Cheese, Thyme and Honey vegan ice cream and I could eat a whole pint! A few cute bistro tables inside, nice and bright natural light. They did have a bathroom towards the back though as well. Can't wait to go again, I want to try the whole menu! read more
Why 5 stars? Because I could live in here. --- --- --- The person scooping ice cream mentioned a couple times that she was quite tired, so I didn't want to pester her, but I was certainly tempted to sample half of the cooler. Instead, I just asked how many scoops she could fit on a cone and she said four. While four different flavors sounded awesome, I was nervous that it would be melting all over my hand if I got the scoops that high, so I opted for three: Tres Leches - 5-stars Texas Sheet Cake - 3.5 stars Caramel Salt Lick - 5 stars I wanted to try some others, namely carrot cake, but that will be have to be for a future visit. And yes, there will definitely be future visits. read more
